The link above is a timeline of a Walking Dead type necrovirus. The spread does not even become apparent to the public until Day -5 (5 days before the start of the RP). Conspiracy nuts noticed something amiss Day -9. After Day -4 thing start to get pretty crazy. At the start of the RP there are 20 million zombies in the US, approaching 10% of the population.

This is what the group can expect as time marches on.

I am looking for literate writers who can manage 3+ decent paragraphs a day. (Yes, I understand RL happens. Give us a heads up.) I also understand that in conversations a short reply is better than rambling (my own bad habit). Just don’t make every post that brief. It gets hard to respond to.
Now then: Variations from the two links above. I prefer something a little closer to Walking Dead as to how it spreads. So … ignore the very early history. Basically I don’t want an airborne necrovirus that kills and reanimates. I didn’t like the story of P49. I want a bite to be required, possibly death. Initially death won’t do cause turning automatically. In fact, only about 8% likely. This will increase with tie.
VN08b
This is the airborne strain of the virus. It causes people to turn when they die. It's spread rate is incredible. By Day +13 nearly every human on the planet will be infected with this strain. The "disabled" percentages listed day by day will give the chance of such infection. Note: isolation in a bunker can prevent this.
VN08c - current strain
This strain is not airborne. It is only delivered by bite/saliva (so far as is known). Scratches are not enough. The bite must break skin enough to enter the bloodstream. It takes only a minute to circulate through the body. The disease may be resisted, but it is very unlikely.
Incubation 2-4 days
Stage 1 1-2 days Flu / Pneumonia like
Stage 2 1-3 days Disabled - bedridden
Stage 3 Death
Turn 0-12 hours
Setting
google.com/maps/place/Rockmart,+GA+30…
Initially, the setting will center around Rockmart, GA at the feedmill there. But this is not going to be a permanent site. This is where I have 3-4 ‘groups’ uniting, but with the threat of both human and unliving armies approaching. One of my groups has a military APC, but will abandon it in favor of something faster and not so much a fuel guzzler. There is a WalMart Supercenter just east of the feedmill, but by now it is getting pretty picked clean. There aren’t too many zombies in this area. But I have plans for a fairly large army of undead to enter the area.
Characters
Yes, you may make either a character, or small group. Most of my groups are only 2-4 characters. (One is larger, but with only a few names. They are 2D cutout characters, just extras. The convoy with the military APC came across survivors at a mission being messed with by some bad guys and put a stop to it.) Exact format is not set. I DO ask, however, for NO Animated gifs (or hide them). I have extremely bad eyes and can’t read around them.
Also, make sure you give an idea where your character (or group) is, how they are travelling, evading trouble if on the move, etc.
The one single trait I look for most in group characters is loyalty (or at least the potential). That is the trait that kept Walking Dead running so long as a TV show.
About Roleplay
You are allowed to use any knowledge you could have about zombies - ie Walking Dead show, etc. That doesn't mean your knowledge will be correct. But if you think it takes a head shot and that is working, why argue about it?
