Character Creation Information
Hey there! Crabs here, and here’s the information you need in order to make your very own Osem. If you would like to create a character that is not an Osem, please PM me with any questions you may have regarding that and/or the kind of playstyle you are looking for. That being said, please PM me with any questions you have ever (in regards to the rp), or add me on discord (KingofCrabs#8755) and ask me there.
Oh, and please read through everything I have written on the page; it’s here a reason, after all, and I’ve eliminated basically any useless fluff that might get in the way. Besides, this is everything you need to know to make a character, so do please read through it. Though, again, please ask any questions you have in PM or ooc, as I may have missed some things.
Hey there, I’ve-just-finished-this-thread Crabs here, delivering some important editing. Since I think I’m cool and clever for avoiding the words “magic” “mana” “mage,” etc, here’s what some words mean:
- Ose: either the energy of the Ose or the Ose themselves.
- Osen: a substitute word for magic, basically, interchangeable with ose when referring to the energy and not the people, can also mean mana if you want it to, I guess.
- Osem: a human chosen by an Ose.
With that out of the way, let’s get to it. The character sheet is
, and I’ll go through each of the elements of it, explaining on the way, though there will be some misc. Information strewn throughout, likely.
Name: Pretty self explanatory, this is the name of your character, or what other people refer to them as, or what they tell people to call them, etc. Feel free to list aliases or nicknames, if you like.
Age: This is how old your character is. If your character is human, and they ought to be, as that is the only sentient race available in this universe, they’ll realistically be anywhere between 15-85ish, because while this is a medieval setting Osen crystals can be used to sustain people’s lifespan.
Sex: Whatever your character is biologically, or whatever pronouns you want used to refer to them. Replace sex with gender in the character sheet, if you so wish.
Appearance: Either a written description or an accurate portrayal of your character, having both is a nice bonus. I think faceclaims are really creepy, but you can use those too, if you like, but don’t you dare spam faceclaims in the in-character thread <3.
Osem: Put either yes or no here. If your character is an Osem, meaning they can use Osen as they wish, put yes. If you don’t want to be one, fine, just remember the main story is about the Osem.
Goal: Whenever an Ose chooses a human to become an Osem, they give them a clear goal, but with no instructions as to how to accomplish this. If you want to be part of the main story, your goal is any way you wish to word “Bring an end to the Shijuhan Dynasty.” However, if you want to write a side character or not be involved in the main story, feel free to put some other goal here. If you need ideas, or want to discuss a side-story with me, PM me. If you are writing your own goal, keep in mind the Ose give these goals as to bring about some sort of gain for themselves, whether this be protection from something, increased strength, etc. The Ose aren’t charitable, for the most part.
Ose Facet(s): This is a long one, actually. Basically, when an Ose chooses a human to become an Osem, the Ose gives that person knowledge/control over the way that particular Ose uses Osen. Sometimes, though, multiple Ose benefit from choosing the same human, so that particular person will receive all of the different ways to control Osen from those particular Ose. The way an Ose controls their Osen is called their facet, similar, I suppose, to a school of martial arts, and any Osem under them could be considered students of that school, in that analogy. Soulprint: Soulprints are very similar to fingerprints- they are unique to every person, though are completely random. They are the effects of raw Ose in the natural world, and are most commonly seen when an Osem starts using their Ose. These soulprints appear in many different forms, and are either internal or external; however, they all change aspects of the environment or the perception of reality itself. Examples:
- An Osem chosen by Gao begins channeling their Osen. Their skin starts glowing bright red as they use their ose, and more and more of their skin glows more intensely red as they use more Osen.
- A different Osem has sickle-like dirt swirling around their feet when they begin compelling the air around them to pound their opponents; as their soul releases more and more Ose into the bloodstream, the dirt swirling around their feet instead becomes a maelstrom of dust that reduces visibility, chokes people, covers things in dust, etc.

Brief Personality: Basically, give me a brief run through of who your character is, how they generally conduct themselves, etc. Do not give me a list of likes and dislikes, you goon, in fact, please avoid lists altogether. Also, “brief” is just a suggestion, feel free to remove the word entirely and write as much as you want.
Personal Goal(s)/Motivation(s): What is your character after? What do they want? What keeps them from falling over and dying with a whimper? What drives them forwards? Please do not copy-paste the goal from earlier, that’s the goal the Ose have given them, and likely not their own. If you cannot think of anything, spend more time fleshing out your character, it is worth it.
Brief History: Tell me about the history of your character, the highs and lows, whatever you feel is significant and you want to include. Also, “brief” is just a suggestion, feel free to remove the word entirely and write as much as you want.
Other: Please put things you’d like to make a note of, or are unique about your character, here. Leave blank or remove if you can't think of anything to say.
