Smoke. Smoke everywhere; flying into the dull air of the Trost District. Living shelters have been crushed. A few blood splatters left behind on ground; both human and Titan. Pieces left behind in dust and the essence of the living now deceased. Her dull but impressionable blue eyes looked, as she perched herself on one of the rooftops, already finding herself staring down at the unknown Shifter before her.

They just happened to cut the person out, and for the rest of her fellow warriors to terminate the remaining giants that surrounded the now-unmovable form, hunching over a giant boulder. A silent prayer came from her, right as the wind gently blew through her short white locks, and her green 'Wings of Freedom' cape.

She had to question herself: Just who was that shifter?

So far, nothing came up to anyone and, as far as she knew, she was chosen to perform such a dangerous task; one of the many reasons of joining the Survey Corps, right to the point of joining up with the Scouts. The task itself was confidential, but her secret wasn't. Commander Erwin was the one who found her in her Titan state, and just by that look in his eyes when she sprouted from her giant form, he spared her, and kept the secret between him and Captain Levi.

That's right, the Captain Levi; humanity's strongest soldier. That's not to say that Sarah was never in the same rank; she was just too valuable for anyone's expense.

A cold flare rose from within her soul, just as a roar came from behind her, while she stood atop the roof of a building. Sarah turned halfway around, and coldly looked upon a ten-meter, standing right above her. "Hmm", was all she said, while she narrowed her blue eyes, and slightly tightened her thin lips. 'I try to enjoy a nice moment of sightseeing, and this is what I see: A very ugly welcoming committee', she thought to herself amusingly before tightening her grip upon the swords in her hands.

Just as the giant was about to stretch out its hand, Sarah allows it to miss its mark completely, right as she launched a hook, and propelled herself around, right over its shoulder, where she was right above its nape. Turning her blades around, so they were outwards, she plunged herself right at its mark. A few of its blood splatters hit right upon her cape, right as she landed on the flat ground, before the giant corpse fell before her, right at her feet.

Bodies of both civilians and fellow soldiers littered the broken district of Trost, all visible from Kiera's vantage point on top of a roof. It was only five years ago that her old home was obliterated by these monsters along with several of her old friends. However, she couldn't afford to dwell on their memory when the man she was currently hovering over needed her immediate assistance. A garrison soldier, named Allen, had already lost enough blood and was missing most of his arm.

He coughed harshly "D-Don't...worry about me. At the very least...I get to die seeing a lovely face." His laugher was cut off by another cough but with this one came a splurt of blood. Her bright blue eyes darkened upon the realization he was indeed a goner. Internal Bleeding. Her relatively short time in the Scout Regiment forced her to understand when and who she could save. Sadly, this man was not one of them. Instead, she gripped his remaining hand and looked him in the eyes "Don't be afraid. Nothing will hurt you anymore. You will be free." Her soft words of comfort seemed to eased the man's worry, and he nodded once. A mere four seconds later, the last light of life vanished from his peaceful eyes.

A single tear was shed from both eyes as she felt the strength in his arm go limp. Carefully, she laid the hand across his chest and moved her hand up to his eyes where she closed them shut. It was never easy watching someone die under her care, even though there was little she could do with titans still lurking about. That was when she heard the near ear-pounding roar of one such monster a few buildings away. She turned her head to see Sarah move to the back of its neck and immediately put it down with a grace befitting of one with her skill. Ever since she joined the Scout Regiment, Kiera had looked up to her for the strength she displayed...wishing that even a small part of that would rub off on her.

Her eyes spotted the human-titan hybrid being carried away. In her mind, she was still unsure what to even think about it. It didn't make any sense, how could a person become one of those monster?!? They did seal the breach however, and that made her hope that it was good omen. Now the task of cleaning up this district fell to the Scout Regiment and what remained of the Garrison forces here. She would make sure to take one down for Allen...and all the innocent lives lost here.

Sara looked upon the vapor that steamed off of the Titan's corpse with a cold glare. A part of her wondered where these creatures came from, and how she had managed to inherit the powers of Titan in the first place. But that last thing she remembered was a man telling her to "protect an individual named Eren Jaeger", and there was something else he said that was faintly heard.

The next thing she remembered was waking up from her Titan form with no memory yet with only one goal: Find and protect Eren Jaeger.

The flashback faded just as she heard the giant stomps of a walking Pure Titan, ahead of her. Having to stand in the open may not have been the best move, but as she was looking around for a spot to launch one of her hooks, she took notice of a few fellow Scouts in the distance, just on a building from above her standing position. Making a small smile, Sara waved a blade back in acknowledgement, but the thumps in front kept her focused.

It was a smaller Titan-vermin; a seven meter. For her comrades to just stand there, it wasn’t what she wanted to see in a soldier. Oh, no. “Get our comrades and the townspeople out of here!”, she instructed, not wanting them to stand around.

The female waited for the smaller Titan to move closer, and just as this thing started to set eyes on her, she was already on the move. Launching a hook to a building, she propelled herself around it, and aimed for its Achilles. She watched the Titan get distracted, after spotting two cadets in the middle of the road; one young male and one young female, who appeared to be injured.

Before it could even launch towards them, a spike penetrated the giant's leg, allowing Sara to pull herself towards her mark, and make a clean cut on the Achilles. This made it fall forwards, so its nape was wide open. With a flip in the air, Sara striked, making a huge slice, before landing on the ground, slightly panting, before turning around to look at the two cadets. “Get to the gate; leave this to the elites”, she told them...before more thumps sounded. Another Titan was just coming into view. “Quickly”.

Another gust of wind blew through Sara’s white locks. She trusted the chain of command, mainly because they saw her as a well-respected soldier, having to be equal with Captain Levi, probably more on a statistical level, rather than by personal means. Gratefully, they continued to help her remember what happened before her mysterious amnesia. From that moment onwards, Sara held complete trust in them, as much as she silently did for her comrades.

Her tourmaline stare was fixed on the giant before her, until she took notice of Keira in the distance, in the middle of the Titan’s path. Narrowing her blue eyes, the lieutenant launched a hook into a building, and propelled herself over the young woman. Dodging past its reaching hand with a twirl, and over its shoulder, Sara advanced herself towards her mark, before making a clean cut.

Keira secured the satchel to her that held some of her medical supplies, a red cross stitched on the olive canvas. It was only thanks to Commander Erwin and Captain Levi that she even had permission to carry it with her on the field. Her left hand clutched the bag to her side as she prepared to leave the rooftop she was on when she heard it. Heavy footsteps that every member of the Scout Regiment could recognize from several meters out. Her heart began to quicken the closer it got. She slid both of her blades out of their sheathes, but it was already too late.

The sound of high-pressure gas hissing behind her caused her to look back, only to just catch Sara soaring over head. Just like the angel everyone called her. For a few moments, she simply stared in awe before the titan that had been coming her way was cut down. Snapping back to reality, she nodded towards Sara even if she wouldn't see it. Keira pushed off the balls of her feet and launched her hooks forwards at a tower that jutted up from one of the buildings. The way she landed her hooks had her shooting over the top, performing a spin as she crested over the tower and launched them once more.

All the titans had to give humanity was pain and suffering. That was why she decided to join the Scout Regiment in the first place. There was only so much she could do with stitches and some pain relievers. Her time in the Scout Regiment had been relatively short, but she had already grown up quite a bit from being a cadet. The vibrations of a titan's footsteps reverberated in her eardrums. It was time to carry her own weight in this fight.

As she drew closer, she used her ODM gear to zoom between the buildings low enough to practically touch the ground with her hand. She shot only one hook onto the building that marked the corner of the street, and used her momemtum to swing her self around the corner with lighting speed and up in the air. The grotesque face of the monster before did not slow her down. She quickly shot both of her hooks into its legs, effectively allowing her to slip through and launch high in the air behind it. There she spun around and began her twirl of death, slicing cleanly through the nape of the neck.

Keira just noticed how badly her hands were shaking, how her heart beat heavily against her chest. Knowing it wasn't safe to remain on the ground too long, she returned to the nearest rooftop to survey the situation around her. With the breach sealed, the number of titans in Trost began to dwindle. It was only a matter of time before they secured the area. After assuring her immediate vicinity was safe, she knelt on the ground and placed her bag in front of her.

Meticulously she checked each and every one of the contents, notably the injectors for the home-brewed stimulant and pain-reliever she made. These were two of the most important items in her bags, besides the tourniquets and bandages. A single dose of either could give a soldier the ability to either fight on or move to a safer place. Silently, she wondered how Sara was doing. Keira doubted she would ever need her services.

Right after the Titan fell, Sara looked to the unconscious boy in the distance. What was so important about that kid? Why are the other Titans moving into his direction? As lon as she had known the recruits inside the Scouts, only one had the kind of resources for this kind of scenario. Propelling herself in rapid speed, the white-haired woman dashed upon the rooftops, before coming across the one she had been thinking of.

“Anderson!”, Sara called out to the young woman, before gesturing to the shifter in the distance. Clearly, he was a shifter, but why were the other giants all moving towards his position? Up ahead, she took notice of another one that another scout had seemed to blind. “With me”, referring for the young woman to follow, before launching her hooks, and taking flight. A Titan intercepted their path, and with little effort, Sara made her strike while passing right by it; her swords steaming of the creature's blood.

Landing in the opening, Sara ran across the remaining stretch between the buildings and the now-sealed hole, before jumping atop on top the body of a recently-fallen Titan, and taking notice of two cadets, and the unconscious Titan-Shifter. Sheathing one of her swords, that was now clean of blood, the white-haired woman crouched down, stretching a free hand to the young Armin, in order to help him up.

"Don't worry. All of us have it covered here. Let's get you somewhere safe", she said all of this softly, though it was rare, because of her cold exterior. But that didn't mean Sara didn't have a care in the world for others.

The black-haired female cadet was hesitant to move, just tightening her grip on the unconscious boy. 'A dear friend, perhaps?', Sara thought with her narrow, blue eyes on the girl. Clearly, all three were younger than her, but she wanted to know what had happened. Plus, she never heard about another Titan-shifter on these grounds. It was sad to say, but even though she was naturally stubborn, Sara will stay back and wait for the outcome.

They were tired. It was clear in the sagging of their shoulders, the drooping of their eyelids, and the slowness in their responses. They were still on the battlefield, and there were still Titans dangerously close to them, even if the Scouts were steadily demolishing them. She sympathized that they were fresh soldiers; green behind the ears, and in their first ever conflict with these humongous beasts. Even if they had encountered them before, it was a whole ‘nother thing in having to fight them, and come out on the other side, victorious against the odds.

The white-haired woman helped the young blonde to his feet. He was the smallest of the trio, probably the youngest, but Sarah didn't want to jump to any conclusions yet. By the look in his big blue eyes, something told Sara from within that he wasn't exactly fighting-material. There was a youthfulness to him; a gentle, child-like soul. He was young; in his prime, at least, his short, somewhat-muscular build was evident that he wasn't really a fighter, but again, Sara didn't want to underestimate him, or make guesses.

"You survive best by always moving forward", she advised to Armin, before narrowing her eyes, and looking behind her at the dead Titan’s already evaporating steam into the air. She looked back at the smaller cadet, at the corner of her eye, and gestured to the wall before them.

The black-haired girl, who appeared to be around the unconscious boy's age, was on high-alert, even as she clung onto his form. The blade in her one hand was tight in her grip, and the fire in her grey eyes was ever vigilant and burning; a passion to which Sara recognized, in relation to her own. There was a strength that the white-haired woman was able to determine. It looked as if Mikasa withheld a similar goal. However, it would appear that she made a vow that held the definition of 'die-trying'.

Keira's head shot up immediately upon hearing the commanding and familiar voice, then looked towards where Sara was indicating. Right at the strange boy who had turned into that monster of a titan, just like the lieutenant. Her heart raced with a strange feeling, a mix of different emotions as she repacked her bag quickly. The Angel of Humanity had just given her an order and she would not refuse her. Especially when it was to help people like those three in the distance "Y-yes, Ma'am!" She projected outwards.

She followed Sara's lead, her hooks taking her on the other side of the street that they zoomed across. The entire time it was difficult for Kiera to pull her gaze from the flying angel. Simply seeing her in action was enough to give Kiera, and many others, hope for victory. It was Kiera's deepest desire that someday she could lift people's hearts and spirits like she did. For now, Kiera had to focus on one person at a time trying the best she could.

A moment after Sara landed, Kiera dropped down as well following behind her. Her first priority was to assess the physical state of each of the cadets, and then attend to the worst among them. Watching the Lieutenant handle the blonde-haired boy, she determined he did not need immediate assistance. Words of courage and comfort were beyond her capacity. Once she got sight of the one who was unconscious, she rushed over to him while releasing her bag from the straps that fastened it to her body. The boy was important, that much she could gather. Now she had the task of making sure he would live through this battle won by his heroic deed.

However, the sight of the the black-haired girl caused her to pause momentarily. It reminded her of dog when it's master dies, but she was here to make sure that didn't happen. Fearless, Kiera approached Mikasa with her bag in her hand and crouched down to her level "Miss, I need you to let go of your grip on him. Do as I say, and he will make it back to you. I promise." This was the one time when Keira shed her anxieties, speaking with a hidden strength. To validate her promise, Kiera opened her satchel of medicine wide enough that Mikasa could clearly see, if the red cross was not evidence enough.

Kiera was already making her observations about the shifter's condition. Head trauma was likely and, with the blood around his forehead, would need to be treated fast. That was why she did not wait for an answer from the black-haired girl, and moved up to Eren's side. From there, she lifted his eyelids to see if there was any reaction. She then retrieved a roll of bandages from her bag and, while gently lifting his head, began to wrap it tightly around the forehead. Luckily, the rest of his body seemed to have been spared of any serious injuries.

It was evident the Asian girl held the boy tighter once Kiera had began to approach her, in order to take a look at the boy. Sara could observe that the girl was stubborn, and almost skeptical, about her intentions with Eren. In a way, that spark of capability within her didn’t go unnoticed. After the Rookie Scout showed that she didn’t pose a threat, Mikasa seemed to be able to finally cooperate, allowing her to examine him. Sara made a mental note to keep an eye on the black-haired girl from afar.

At the moment, there weren’t many Titans remaining; most of them having to be extinguished by the recently-arrived Scouts, although that didn’t stop Sara from looking out for more, who might intend to sneak up on them. She was more than willingly to be Keira extra set of eyes. It took some time, but after a few moments, the lieutenant was finally able to take the boy, and hoist him under one arm, right after sheathing one of her blades.

Gesturing to the wall, the Angel launched her hooks, and reeled herself up the wall, hoping that the others below would follow her lead. On her way up, Sara took notice of the ugly monstrosities, and the other Scouts on the ground, who’ve aided in their escape. Mindless things these giants were, preying the small and weak. Wiping out humanity being their urge; a compulsion never ending.

Making it to the top, the white-haired woman sheathed her other blade, before carefully and gently laying the body of the unconscious boy upon on his back, before shortly having to take off her cape, and wrap it, in order to place it underneath his head. The other two cadets were not too far behind, as they quickly kneeled by his side.

Standing up, and turning her head around, Sara looked upon Keira with narrowed eyes. “You did well today, soldier. Or should I say, doctor, miss Anderson?”, she said, having to pass down her own words of praise, even though she didn’t keep her attention on the young woman for long. The lieutenant gazed back up at the city, watching the smoke, before looking down upon the carcasses of both human and Titan, mentally passing her honor down towards the human corpses, and discontent for the evaporating Giants.

A quick motion of her hand wiped away a few, small beads of sweat from her brow as she finished treating the young cadet. It was true that she could have given a stimulant to wake him, but given the circumstance she thought it was best he rest for now. She was grateful that Mikasa was understanding, as it would of make it hard to treat him otherwise. Kiera put what was left over from treating Eren into her bag. A lot of what was in her bag came out of her own expenses, though a few of the other scout chipped in every so often. They practically had to force the money in her hands though.

Securing her bag, Keira followed Sara's lead waiting for the two other cadets to go first. The view as they moved up the wall sent a sorrowful chill down her spine. Countless lives lost and very little gained. Kiera couldn't imagine how many others were injured. She had to shake her head free of these thoughts lest she fall into darkness. The Scout Regiment was here to ensure Humanity kept moving forward, so that was what she must do as well.

She watched carefully as the lieutenant laid the shifter down and propped up his head with her cloak. Kiera's patient was stable and that is what mattered. Now it would be a simple waiting game to see when he would wake up. She couldn't help but worry about what might happen to him. The sight of his friends by his side gave her hope that he would be just fine.

A bit of color rushed to Keira's cheeks as Sara met her eyes, giving her the gift of her praise. Immediately she felt a lightness throughout her whole body along with a wave of embarrassment. The Angel of Humanity just said her last name and called her a doctor! "T-T-Thank you, Ma'am!" She just managed to blurt out, the confindence in which she spoke to Mikasa completely gone. Guilt then replaced the brief happiness those words gave her after Sara went to look over the edge of the wall. Here she was, happy to receive such words from a person as amazing as Sara when there was still people fighting for their life. She truly was an awful person. She lowered her head and mumbled something under her breath, that Sara might just be able to hear if she listened close enough "I can't get ahead of myself." With that, she clenched her right first tightly in front of her.

Having to continue looking out, Sara didn’t have to turn her head back around, once she heard Keira say something under her breath. She didn’t need to question or acknowledge her, but she did use her observational nature to keep it in mind. The young woman was something else, having to possess a medical talent for the wounded, and held quite the empathetic exterior that the lieutenant herself somewhat lacked. She had a way of sympathy, but such circumstances were able to harden her heart, and eventually shut her emotions down, by nature.

From time to time, the Angel, at least, tries to socialize with the lower ranks, but with all of her time focused on the war at hand, while trying to remember her past, it became a whole lot harder for her to talk casually. For the most part, she only spoke in the way that one would speak, while in the chain of command. She was just too business-like.

Two other Scouts, a male and a female landed nearby, and ran straight to the white-haired woman. “Lieutenant! The front line is currently helping citizens to the gate”, the male reported, while having to point to the gate. “Anya and I are here to help, and we’re not entirely sure what to do from here”.

"Then, by all means, help them. We can't have any more casualties, nor lose anymore of our forces", the white-haired woman recommended in her traditional cold but soft voice, before placing her gaze back on the unconscious boy behind her, by the time the other Scouts quickly departed. She then looked at Keira, her blue eyes laying passively yet expectedly upon her. "Anderson, tend to the boy, as well as his comrades. The Commander would want him alive and conscious".

As much as Sara didn't want to say, but she would much rather be ordered around by her cousin, considering that she quickly became part of his Special Operations Squad during her early military years. In truth, even though her respect for Erwin was considered faithful, she knew that the man was willing to put his soldiers’ lives on the line to reach a certain goal. In addition, even if the woman wanted to wait for the Commander or the Military Police, she also wanted to know who this boy was, and why he seemed to be so important.

With that said, the lieutenant leaped off the wall, having to spin in her downward descent, before launching a hook, allowing herself to dangle halfway upon the structure. Scanning the area for a few moments, Sarah wondered how this all even started in the first place. No doubt that her comrades would have similar thoughts. Although, in her own mind, she wanted to remember what happened, before waking up in the body of a Titan. Lookin over at the closing gate, it became the signal telling her that everyone was safe.

Making a sigh, the lieutenant used her own weight to swing herself back and forth, and eventually give herself a mighty push, giving her the leverage to get propelled up the wall, as if in flight, and land before the young doctor, and the kids. Safe, and together.

The sound of Sara addressing her caused her to refocus on the situation at hand, facing the lieutenant and giving a proper salute "Of c-course, Lieutenant!" She said respectfully before moving towards the boy and his two companions. Keira should have already been tending to them but she let her thoughts take her away from what needed to be done "Excuse me, I need to check on him." No time was wasted doing a second check-up on Eren. It was certainly easier to do when there was not a threat of a titan attacking them.

What astounded her the most was the signs that his body was already starting to recover. There were still a small amount of burns on his body that she used a slightly-green colored salve on. After she ensured Eren's condition, she moved onto the two cadets by his side. Besides a few bruises and scratches, there was no real physical injuries she could observe. She didn't need to be wise to know that there were scars deeper than flesh in both of them. Time was the only remedy for that. Keira returned to monitoring Eren's health but she couldn't say he would wake up. Titan physiology was beyond her field of expertise so she could only observe, treat, and speculate.

This entire operation was a success because of this one boy with the power to become a titan. There were too many questions she just didn't want to think about. It was easier just to do as she always done and treat her patient.

For some reason, Sara was having continuous thoughts on the boy that they had just managed to rescue, as well as put into Kiera's care. Watching the process before her, she felt the need to know who this boy was, and why he seemed to be so important. For the safety and benefit of her comrades, it was necessary for her to find as much intel as she could, so that she could share it with them. They needed to know what they were up against, and how they should prepare themselves for possible future conflicts that might surround it. Her facials relaxed at the thought, while her hair gently blew in the breeze, before looking back at the other kids, who remained by the boy's side, and observed Kiera's careful tending to their best friend.

The rest of the day behind Wall Rose was normal, although it became dark rather quickly. The other Scouts were spending time to themselves, while the cadets have tried to process through what they had just seen in their first battle. Seeing a giant Titan, who seemed to be able to cooperate and give humanity their first ever victory, wasn't something for them to expect in the crisis that they were currently a part of, along with the rest of the world.

If she was being honest with herself, Sara didn't exactly approve of the whole Military Police Brigade. As far as she knew, they were the most-controlling out of all of the military branches. As a result, she didn't favor them, even though her own presence seemed to be rather intimidating to them, so thankfully, they backed away from her, in response. It wasn't hard for her to get into the dungeons either, since the MPs didn't hesitate to give her its location upon request. It was the place where they decided to keep the boy captive. Strangely, she almost expected to find Miss Anderson down there, continuing to tend to his wounds, as well as check on him from time-to-time upon Commander Erwin's order.

The lieutenant turned a corner, down the hallway, hoping to find the boy conscious.

Two soldiers of the Military Police stood on guard at Eren Jaeger's cell, their muscles tensing up as Sara made her way down the poorly lit corridor to his cell. There she did indeed find Keira exiting the cell, the creaking sound of metal filling the air. Despite the exhaustion slowly hitting her, she was doing her best to keep upright. None of the top brass wanted any civilian doctor to come in contact with the titan-shifter, so naturally Commander Erwin assigned her to take care of him. Right now, his body temperature was a litter higher than it should be so she had been placing a rag with cold water on Eren's forehead. Every time she came she would check it along with his pulse and heartbeat.

Her eyes were half-closed as she held a clipboard in front of her "Let's see....blood pressure...no major changes." Each word was spoken with a heaviness "Ah heartbeat...ermm....no, that is good too. Fresh bandages....no signs of internal damage......." Her mouth opened wide with a silent yawn, completely unaware of the Lieutenant making her way to the captive. With her free hand, she rubbed both of her eyes on her forearm "...small amounts of thrashing in his sleep...and the high surface temp are the only things out of the ordinary." All of this was said to no one but herself. Saying her thoughts out loud was helping her keep focus on the job given to her by her unc-, she meant commander.

Behind her, the once unconscious boy began to stir. By the time Sara had arrived, he was moving into a sitting position on the bed. His eyes searched the room clearly disoriented, a blank look of confusion expressed in his face "Where..." He began to speak "Where...am I?" His attention turning towards Sara as she entered into his field of vision.

Sara took notice of Kiera in the distance, having to already succeeded in doing her timely check-ups upon the boy. The exhaustion in the young woman's eyes were ever so present, and the lieutenant knew that, after just coming out from a battle, and then sent to do another assignment was rather tiring, so the least she could do, was to let the doctor be excused and retire for the rest of the evening. "Take this time to rest, doctor. You've done enough of your duties for one day", she suggested to her, having to show her usual consideration for the recruit, as she often shows to everyone else in a professional matter. However, before she could let the brunette disappear, Sara spoke once again. "And, Miss Anderson? Great work today", she said, turning her head half-way around to meet the other's blue eyes with her own, narrow as ever.

From there, the white-haired woman turned back to the cell, just in time to hear the boy's voice. Pulling up a chair from behind her, that was leaned up against the wall, Sara sat upon it, and looked at him with rather curious yet interested eyes; narrowing them a little more, as if she was examining a subject. “You're in the underground dungeons of Military Police Headquarters. As far as I heard, the MPs are placing you on trial”, she commented. “My name is Sara Reinhardt, one of the lieutenants to Commander Erwin of the Scout Regiment. As ordered, he wants answers, and I intend to gather”, she told him, rather gently, reminding herself on the amount of trauma that he may have endured.

“I believe we should start here: What is your name?”, she had to know.

Kiera nearly jumped out of her skin as she finally saw the lieutenant suddenly in her field of vision. The clipboard fumbled out of her hands and fell to the ground. A look of shame flashed across her face as she bent her knees and picked up it up. When she came back up, she nodded at Sara's suggestion "Yes, I s-suppose you are right." Her voice sounding slightly defeated as she began to walk away. She had embarrassed herself in front of the Angel of Humanity! It was awful! That thought passed through her mind just as Sara called her name, causing Kiera to stop and turn around to face her "Yes?" She quickly responded before hearing the small words of praise. It was fortunate that Sara turned around again at that moment or else she would have seen a bit of color rush to Kiera's cheeks. The memory of her little slip-up seemed to vanish in the joy she felt "Thank you, Ma'am!"

She clenched the clipboard tightly against her chest as she left the underground dungeon. If the lieutenant said it, it had to be true right? The sight of seeing her patients pull through was reward enough but it felt nice to know she was doing her job well. This feeling remained as she made her way to her house, a place cluttered with books, papers, and different vials. The mess didn't bother her at all since she lived alone. Once she hit the comforting embrace of her bed, Kiera was out for the count.

After hearing where he was, Eren moved his arms rattling the chains a little as if to confirm what she said. A brief look of fear seemed to grip his expression at the word 'trial'. However, the gentle approach of the lieutenant appeared to soothe this worry somewhat. The 'Angel of Humanity' was one of his heroes and she was here speaking with him. He had nothing to hide and knew he better answer "My name is Eren. Eren Yeager." He responded as calmly as he could.

Sara was patient with every one of the people who served in the military, with the exception that there will be consequences if one is not committed with their duties. Throughout her time of militaristic action, it was quite rare rare for the Angel to externally smile - especially if something or someone had managed to amuse her, and for that, there was a small, thin smile on the inside of her head that she formed at Miss Anderson’s clumsiness, as well as towards her reciprocating response. In some ways, the Angel was really quite proud of the young woman’s efforts to be an effective yet talented recruit and healer withhin their squad. That’s what made the young woman rather valuable and useful to them.

These thoughts lingered inside the lieutenant’s head, shortly before she heard the boy respond to her question. Having to remain sitting in her chair, her leg was crossed over the other, shortly before she then crossed her arms upon her chest. Her narrow, blue eyes looked into his own. “I believe it”, she said simply, and she did, as if she had faith, as well as the feeling in her gut that told her that the boy was more valuable than he initallt seemed. In truth, the discovery of his identity made her stiffen on the spot. ’That name. He’s the one; the individual I was meant to seek out. He’s the answer to everything’. After some time, Sarah calmed herself, momentarily tearing her gaze away from him, and closed her eyes. “I see now”, she finally said, after a moment.

Opening her eyes, Sara looked back at the prisoner, having to stand up from where she sat, and kicked the chair with her foot, letting it slide across the floor, and back to the wall behind her.

“What happened out there?”, she was back to her cold yet soft voice.

Eren watched as the revelation of his identity seemed to affect Sara somehow. He could only look on in minor anticipation of her next question, constantly wondering about his fate. There was no way he was going to remain locked up here forever. He couldn't stop until every single titan was killed. They were mindless killing machines that needed to be completely destroyed. There was only one thing worse than them and that was the sentient titans. As the image of the Colossal Titan flashed in his mind, anger spread throughout his entire body and was only stopped by the sound of Sara's voice.

His eyes closed shut tightly while his brows furrowed strongly. He nearly bit down on his tongue as he gritted his teeth to suppress the feelings inside. Eren's eyes opened wide with clear and barely suppressed rage "It was my fault. The Colossal Titan appeared and I was not fast enough to kill it!" His clenched his right tightly, allowing him to calm down a little "The same thing happened just like five years ago, except this time it was targeting the fixed cannons as well. I came so close to taking him down but then he vanished." Eren did nothing to hide his frustration and anger. What came next was the most painful memory of it all.

Heavy breathing soon took over as he was forced to remember "We were recalled back to HQ where we were given new orders to form the middle guard of the defense. That's...that's where it all went wrong..." The finger-nails of his right fist dug into the flesh of his palms but did not draw blood "My team, team 34, were ordered to assist the vanguard forces. W-we...we were on the move when we were attacked by an aberrant titan." A steady stream of tears fell form his face "I thought we manged to escape but it killed Thomas! I wanted the bastard to pay so I chased after it." He wiped the tears from his face "Everything went wrong after that. We were engaged by multiple titans and I nearly lost Armin. I had to pull him out of a titan's dirty mouth. The last thing I really remembered is an insatiable rage at all of their kind as it swallowed me!"

He forced himself to take a few moments to return his breathing to normal before beginning again "The next thing I know Mikasa and Armin are by my side surrounded by other soldiers aiming their weapons at us. I managed to protect them from a canon shot but it was Armin who manged to save us. He bought enough time for Commander Pixis to come and actually listen to us. That was also when I realized what I could do." Eren laid back against the backboard of the bed, a little exhausted from talking "You should know what came after that, right?" The plan had actually succeeded. Humanity had their first victory. And now? He was locked up in this cell when he should be out there killing titans!

Sara watched and listened, as the teenager across from her began to recollect on what he remembered. All of it sounded like an experience that was way too similar to that of her own, except for the fact that she lost all memory of what happened before Erwin and Levi found her in the nape of a Titan. In a way, she found herself having to relate to Eren, in regards to having the same problem in trying to remember what had already occurred. It was clear that he was forgetting one little detail in his story. Perhaps the lieutenant could help him by simply summing it up.

Having her arms crossed upon her chest, the white-haired woman kept her blue eyes upon his form, as if to scan his features, and detect any sort of abnormality to him. By hearing the names of the two cadets, "Armin" and "Mikasa", Sara looked back at the memory of the other teens who were seemed to be attached to Eren by the hip, and by what she heard from a witness, the girl called "Mikasa", who held his unconscious body, was also attacked by him, shortly after he transformed.

"I have also heard, Yeager, that you have attacked cadet Mikasa, as well", she told him. "If you are still wondering, she was unharmed", her voice was reassuring him, while keeping the same face and position. "You may not approve of my decision, but I had to turn you over", she said with obligation within her voice. "She and cadet Armin will be attending your trial tomorrow, as they were witnesses". There was silence between the two of them for a while, until the lieutenant sighed. "Listen, Eren, my Commander wants you reinstated into the ranks, while the MPs demand for you to be disposed of. It will be a battle between the regiments, when it comes to deciding on your fate", Sara explained, with expectation in her eyes.

"But, we have a plan; one that I need for you to trust us on", her blue eyes were piercing into his own, with a bit of glint in them, almost godly.
"I can't tell you what it is, but Commander Erwin hopes that it will ensure your survival".

His eyes went wide as shocked enveloped his expression, his body shaking as the words hit him. It was impossible. She had to be lying. There was no way he would ever try to harm Mikasa! And yet....staring into her eyes told him different. She had no reason to lie to him and there was a gap in his memory right after he transformed. He hung his head down in guilt for moment before focusing on the positive: Mikasa was unharmed. A small smile of relief came to his lips as Sara kept on talking.

It really did not matter if he approved or not. Nothing could be done to change it now. He had to face the reality that tomorrow his fate would be decided on and he would not take it lying face down. Especially not now when he had the power to accomplish his dream of killing every single titan. At long last he had a chance of finding that freedom he had yearned for since he and Armin were little "Witnesses..." He said softly. It gave him some relief to know that his friends would be there to support him. He was prepared to fight. To show all of them why they should put their faith in him!

Reinstated? His heart jumped a little at that possibility. Did she mean the Survey Corps? That meant he might finally get the chance to see what it is like outside these cramp walls! Wait, did he hear right? Disposed of? He was human! Before he could let that thought simmer, he looked up into the lieutenant's eyes. A plan to make sure he got out of this alive? There was little to do but believe in them. A renewed look of determination shown both in Eren's face and his eyes "Alright! I will put my trust in him, so that I may live to slaughter every last titan!" His complete disdain for the titan menace showed in his last words.

Sara watched as Eren express what seemed to be a vow, which later become some sort of goal. It only made her quietly hum in acknowledgement, before she managed to catch his acceptance on being able to cooperate, and place his trust into her, as well as the rest of the Scouts. Even while kept those intimidating yet gentle blue eyes upon the teen, the words of her past continued to bother her.

'Find my son. Protect Eren Yeager. Sara, his life will be in your hands. Find him..please'.

These specific words were all part of a ten-year puzzle she had yet to solve. What was the significance of it? What made Yeager so important? Her gut was telling her that only he was her best lead, as to finding out 'why'. "Hm", she quietly hummed to herself, which was her only way of acknowledging him. He had a sense of motivation, she'll give him that. "I'm sure that you will, Eren. Once we make the official decision, in regards to your life", she told him, with a small trace of confidence within her narrowed eyes and voice. That was when she nodded, and gave a very small yet thin smile. "Rest well, Yeager. Thank you for your cooperation", she said, before making her departure to the private barracks, silently satisfied to now know who he is, as well as remembering on what her goal was.

The next day came, as quickly as the sun began to rise. Commander Erwin had instructed section commander Hange Zoe to retrieve the teen from the dungeons, and take him to the court room that was in the center of town. It all comes down to their final judgement, as Eren's fate was to be decided. Of course, Mikasa and Armin had to be present, as they were key witnesses. With her arms crossed, Sara stood with her commander and Levi upon the Scout Regiment side, before having to watch Eren enter, and be placed in the center of attention upon the floor. Shackled to a stand, he was before the "judge" Darius Zackly, the head-commander of all three military branches.

Eren felt a slight reassurance that not everyone was against in this trial "Right." He simply responded. The battle against the titans finally felt like it was changing...that humanity finally had a chance. He couldn't help but get the feeling that Sara and the leaders of the Scout Regiment had some ace up their sleeve in regards to freeing him. There was nothing else that felt needed to be said so he nodded in return and watched as the angel walked away. It was only then he noticed how nervous he actually was. Rest well? That seemed like a near impossible request as his mind buzzed with questions. This cascade of thoughts prompted him to check for the key given to him by his father. He audibly gasped as he felt nothing where it should be. A sense of panic consumed him as he wondered if he lost somewhere out on the battlefield or if the military police had taken it from him when he was unconscious. He gritted his teeth heavily before accepting the situation. He wouldn't know until this was all over. What followed was a night of restless sleep until the next morning where he would face a trial to decide if he would serve humanity, or be cut down as a threat.

Keira woke up to the sound of someone banging on her door. She nearly stumbled down the stairs as she rushed to see who it was "Miss Anderson! I was sent by command to escort you to the trial of Eren Yeager!" The full, masculine tone was muffled from behind the door. Panic set in as she realized she had slept much longer than she should of "A-alright! I will b-be out in a few minutes!" Her voice shakily called out. Keira frantically rushed around her house as she did her best to make herself look as best as she could before opening the door "Are you ready to go?" A strong set of amber eyes looked down at her as Keira nodded "Y-yes." His eyes moved toward her medical bag "It is necessary to bring that?" He asked rather rudely to which Keira nodded strongly "A-absolutely!" Now more than ever she couldn't imagine being without it. The military police soldier simply scoffed and turned around "Fine. Let's get moving." He stated with a roughness in his tone before walking off. Keira followed immediately after.

She was placed with many others from the scout regiment, including Mikasa, Sara, and Armin. It would be a lie to say that the fate of Eren didn't concern her. As her patient, Kiera now had a personal stake in this as well. However, the weight of the air in the room was almost suffocating and was quickly agitating her anxiety. Nevertheless, she would suffer through for the sake of the boy.

Eren looked around all those around him that formed the tribunal for his trial. Nobles, merchants, priests were on his right side along with the military police while the witnesses and some of the scout regiment were on his left. Immediately his eyes caught onto the forms of Mikasa and Armin. It wasn't difficult for him to see that they were scared for his sake. Meanwhile, he couldn't help but worry about them. His gaze finally wandered up to Darius Zackly and awaited the trial to begin.
