I’ve got a few ideas that I’d like to play with honestly. Before all that though...Hello I’m Jiatsu Hoshido and I’ve always had a facination with the Steampunk era stuff. My first character I ever made was named Roxanne Roserust and she was based in a world sort of like that, though at the time I didn’t know it. Anyway, I’ve recently been reading a book and it has a collection of short steampunk stories in it and so I got inspired, so here’s a few ideas I’ve had.
Essentially, Character A keeps living the same timeline over and over again, retaining all their memories from each run through of their timeline, trying to change Character B’s fate. Character A has a timepiece that can jump forward and back through time, which they obtained from a group they were working with when Character A saved them from the law putting them in jail for the rest of their lives by sending them forward in time to some unknown destination. Shortly after they’re released from the law they use the timepiece to go back in time to try and save Character B. So it basically follows all the ways A tries to save B, but truthfully I was thinking we’d do the rp in the timeline where B will finally be saved but A is saying things that don’t make sense to B so a lot of conflict will arise from that. There are more religious themes in this idea but A is essentially turning their back on the religion to try and save B from dying. (I can explain more as needed)
The other idea I have is this, essentially character A is of a royal bloodline that lives in a large castle city. A city inside a giant castle essentially. The center spire of the city is a large purifier, it’s also where the royal bloodline lives. This purifier broke ages ago and hasn’t done its work for nearly fifty years, no one can leave their homes without a gas mask to protect them from the pollution of the air, though nobody has stopped using their technology either, confident they can all live with it. However character A wants to try and save their city from this fate and has studied mechanisms and machines all their life, but can’t seem to quite figure out the problem on their own. Which is how Character B becomes relevant, character B is a clockmaker who has traveled outside the castle city and found these strange mechanical roses that grow in the rusted wasteland, they discover they can use the colorful petals to create gears and timepieces and that timepieces made with these gears can grant the holder very special abilities, so they haven’t shown these pieces and clocks to anyone. Things change however when character A’s uncle plots to assassinate their Father and themselves, their father discovers the plot and forces their child to run away that night. With the king dead and the heir missing the uncle takes over the kingdom claiming that character A killed their father making them wanted B finds A, hungry and injured so B helps nurse them back to health, knowing their wanted by the new king, essentially helping A hide while they try and figure out how to clear A’s name and convict A’s uncle of the murder, though A hasn’t forgotten their original goal and when they begin to see how good B is with gears and clockwork they ask B to help them with that too. (It’s a story idea I’ve had for a long time)
I’m really wanting to do both of these ideas, so if either catches your interest PM me and we can talk more. The book I’ve been reading has not been helping with my wish to do some stories like this. Thank you for reading and I hope I hear from you soon~!
