James actually teared up.

Elizabeth sniffed and sobbed, wiping away tears.

her heart skipped a few beats at his words and she threw her arms around him in a hug. "thank you" she says in his ear.

Brandon looked up the stairs. He wanted to go talk to Elizabeth but it would have to wait. he looked at his sister. he was happy that James wouldnt give up on her.

James hugged her back.
"There is no need to thank me. You're special to me. why would I ever let you go?"

Elizabeth curled up on her bed.

"this is more then you signed up for" she said and kissed his cheek. she takes his hand and walks upstairs. She could feel her brothers anxiousness. he sacrificed his happiness because of her.

Brandon followed her up the stairs.

Elizabeth had locked the door.

James walked with kali, hand in hand. He was a bit angry with brandon, but he felt bad for him too.

Kali walked to her room and when she reached the door her turned the knob to open it but it wouldnt budge. she knocked on the door "elizabeth can you let me in please" she asked through the door.

Brandon watched his sister not able to get into the room.

Elizabeth was in tears when she opened the door.

James sighed and beckoned brandon to the doorway.

Kali looked at Elizabeth and hugged her. she pulled back and looked at the boys and let them know to wait. she walks inside the room and closed the door. she walks Elizabeth to her bed and sat down.

Brandon walks up to the door as it closed and leaned against the wall on the right side. he had his arms crossed. he just wanted to be able to talk to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth blinked. she was still in tears.
"wh...what do you guys want?"

James sighed and waited.

"i wanted to see if you were okay" she says "and my brother and his infinite wisdom" she says sarcastically "wants to see you but cant because of me" she says "i want to apologize for my part in screwing things up with him" she says to her "i dont know if you can or will forgive me but im sorry" she says

Brandon let his head lean back on the wall. He wanted to hold her in his arms and kiss away her tears. He wanted to see her smile and blush.

Elizabeth sighed.
"I was...upset and angry."
She sniffed.
"but on top of that, and very greatly, I was frightened. for a moment, I was reminded of my father...and my brother. I...I just....broke down."

James waited patiently. He frowned a bit and sighed.

she frowned "im sorry" she says softly. "My brother loves you and isn't normally like that unless its to protect someone he loves" she says to her. "he was protecting me, our father is a horrible person, and doesnt want me to feel his wrath" she told her. "his intentions wasnt to scare you" she told her "he is waiting outside in the hall to see you and talk to you, but he couldnt unless i was here" she said

Elizabeth didn't think that was fair but she bit her lip. She just managed a nod.

James waited.

"can i let him know its okay for him to come in?" she asked her.

Elizabeth shrugged. She wiped away a tear.

James took a breath.

she touched her hand and got up. she walked over the door and opened it up. Brandon turned on his shoulder to look at her as he still leaned on the wall. Kali stepped aside and he walked into the room his eyes searching and found her on her bed. he walks over to her and sits down next to her. he wraps his arms around her and hugs her close to him and kissed her head.

Kali looked at James and waved him into the room. she offered her hand.

Elizabeth sighed and wiped away a tear. She muttered what she told kali.

James looked at kali when she left the room. He walked up to her.

he pulls back from the hug and kissed her cheeks. "please liz dont cry" he says "i didnt mean to scare you" he says "i would never hurt you or raise a hand to you" he says "but i will protect you with everything in me" he told her. "i love you mouse" he told her. "When i ask you to marry me and i will at some point, you wont have to worry about your father or brother harming you in anyway" he says "because i will be your family and wont have to see them unless you want" he told her.

Kali hugged james and took his hand and walked into her room. she walks over to the couch near her closet and sat down. She was far enough away to give her brother some privacy but she was in eye view of him.

James sat down next to her. He wrapped an arm around her.

Elizabeth teared up and hid her face in his chest. She was actually hugging him. She managed a nod and her voice was very quiet.
"..alright."
She faintly smiled for a brief moment.

"Mouse" he said in a whisper "i have never wanted to be with anyone more then you. The thought i lost you tonight hurt me" he says "im happy your keeping me" he says smiling down at her. "you have my heart liz" he says

She snuggled into him on the couch. "im sorry for tonight James" she says frowning and not looking at him
