Pokemon: The Northern Rangers

Okay I admit that Twitch Plays Pokemon kind of got me excited to do a Pokemon RP.... I even have a photo that inspired me!

TPP Day 7

But my idea with this is that all the players are in a new region primarily composed of tundra and mountain biomes. There are a few cities and towns but most of the continent is a frontier, even the Pokemon scarcely populate it. We, as the players, are Pokemon Rangers whose job it is to explore and protect the frontier. We have our Pokemon with us (all generations) and there might even be some new ones! Together we'll end up banding together to discover the mysteries that hide underneath the snow. Mysteries that would otherwise threaten us if left unchecked.

Anyone who joins will be completely welcome to contribute ideas for new Pokemon, towns/cities, or even the mysteries. I have ideas for all those but don't let that inhibit your creativity!

My pleasure. So if I remember from the game, Rangers don't carry pokemon the same way the trainers do. Are you keeping that trend?
Edit: It's been a little while so correct me if I'm mistaken.

Well actually... The actual game and the RP will be different. Think of us more like Frontier Ranger Trainers? We'll have the standard six or whatever but the Ranger title comes in because we are like park rangers. You know how park rangers patrol national parks and whatnot?

Yea when I first got this idea I looked it up on Google and saw there was an actual game. I didn't what the heck was happening and I had hoped it wasn't well known so as to confuse anyone looking at this.

But that's good! I definitely wanted the more traditional Pokemon feel.

I actually own the game but I haven't touched it in a really long time. Glad that can be cleared up for the next guy that knows of the game. Hahaha.

Are you a big fan of the series, then? I know a bit but I'm completely blind to everything past Gen III.

Not the entire series. I followed up until the Platinum or Soul Silver game but lost interest after that. Never was big on the show, didn't watch it much. Somewhat recently I got the Pokémon Black game but didn't get very far in that either.

Oh okay. I guess that's good because otherwise my lack of knowledge running this might have been embarrassing.

It wouldn't have bothered me, however it would be a good idea to find a single site with up to date pokemon and information. That way it can be accurate and we would all be pulling from the same place. That's obviously not including anything we would make up ourselves, but even then it could be a help with coming up with moves and weaknesses.

I think I may have found one for you.
http://pokemondb.net/pokedex/all Is a complete list and http://pokemondb.net/move/all has the list of all moves known in the pokemon world. It does not however tell you what pokemon has what moves but we're getting creative soooo. :P

Thanks! I went and took a look at it and I have already picked out my Pokemon. I also thought of the main storyline and it is perfect! I won't spoil it though.

And since you are my biggest contributor so far (not to overlook jetipster), what section do you think I should move this to: Free, Casual, Advance?

Hmm, I don't know. Free maybe? I guess that would depend on how long you want posts to be. I say Free because there isn't any standard in there. As long as the player feels like writing.

That was kind of what I was thinking. Plus I don't think Pokemon is really popular elsewhere. :/
