Premise Everyone has their own daily lives in which go about our usual vocations. Mixing in some unusual happenstance that may happen here or there, we live our lives with no real wrenches thrown. That is, unless we create those wrenches ourselves. Even then, we mostly have a way to fix/adapt to those happenings when it does happen. This is all well and good, until death comes knocking at your door, then what happens? I’ll tell you what happened, you die. The one thing in life that, no matter what you do, we just cannot avoid. The unstoppable force that catches us, one after the other. But this isn’t a story about death and how to avoid it. No. Rather, this story is about what comes after death.
Everyone here, in this role play, has died for some reason or another. Why you died is relevant ONLY to your character but in the grand scheme of things, your character is dead. However, your entire being is then transferred into a new world, having only the items on you that you had on your body. When you realize what’s happening, the world around you seemed to have regressed into a world of Swords and Magic. What’s even more strange is the fact that you have one thing that works and that is your smart phone. Looking down at it, all of your previous apps are erasers and there is only one app that is open, and constantly open and it simply says, “Welcome, Adventurer, to your new life.”
The world of Videllia is a currently at war with itself. As stated above, Videllia is a place of swords and magic. Though this is true, the known world does have technology that is advanced above the medieval world. Electricity is a thing here, but, it’s not power plants and breakers but magic tubes allowing it to work. Carriages are still the basic form of transportation but there is plumbing as well. Guns do not exist as of yet and cellphones are not a thing.
The world is divided into 4 zones along two, massive continents. The two continents are known simply as the “Known World” and the “Unknown World.” The Unknown world is the home of many things unknown. Some say it is full of all of the legends that inhabit the world: like a tree whose roots lead to both heaven and hell, Titans that roam the land, and the Queen of Fairies resides. There are so many myths and mysteries that surround this place that the common folk believe most to be false and the place is really just a giant mass of unlivable land.
The Known world is divided into three countries. Nehzan to the North, inaros to the east and Dhell to the south. Dhell and Nehzan are at war with each other and have been for the last 300 years. While Inaros has been able to remain neutral.
The system
Okay because this is a game-esq world, there will be a leveling system for both, your player level as well as the skills, abilities and techniques you earn. How you will go about leveling them, you use them of course. I will not bother too much with calculating when skills and techniques will level, that seems like it will be too much to take care of, especially since I am expecting a wide range of skills and abilites being gained/created as the story progresses. There is an Exp gage though. This gage will be calculated for you. Anyways, enough about that boring stuff, time to get into the juicy stuff….that might still bore you, but I hope it doesn’t.
Leveling up Gaining levels, in this world, will work towards a few things. One is that it shows your experience as someone who ventures into the world. Not everything will give you experience points but most things will. Crafting items wont raise your personal level but will raise the skill level of the adventurer. Also, you will gain Stat Points for leveling up. You will gain 6 points to spend freely for leveling and will gain +1 to all stats every 5 levels(lvl5, 10, 15 etc). That means by level 10, you will have gained 66 more Stat Points to spend on your character. I think that’s pretty fair, don’t you?
Your Smart Phone and You Your smart phone will be how you learn about the world as well as records your adventure. As you progress through the story, other features will be unlocked for you. Features that I won’t tell you about but it will be helpful (He really doesn’t know what they are yet…. Shut up!!) Right now, you have two very important apps to use, the first is the About Me app and the Second is the Pictopedia app.
About Me The About Me app, as stated previously, is an app that you can use to check your character and all of their progression. It is where your stats are updated, level is shown, skills and abilities are shown. Likewise, you can show what weapons you have on you and able to keep on you.
Pictopedia This is a camera app that uses images to analyze everything around you. In order to retrieve info on something, you pull out your phone, open the app and take a picture. You can either do it using a selfie or normally. The app, however is incomplete and needs to record data in order to improve the information you get. Depending on your level, the level of the app, and the level of the subject in the photo, different amounts of information will be displayed. As of right now, anyone/anything from levels 1-10 will give you full information. 11-20 will give you info on Name, HP, MP, and name. 21-30 will just give a name. 31 and up will yield zero information. Once you have gained enough information, there will be nothing your phone cannot analyze.
Skills Skills are things that you gain in the world. These skill are singular in category and will only allow you to access to things that will help you perform in that skill’s scope. Becoming the most powerful mage in existence isn’t done by learning the “Mage” skill, that doesn’t exist. I mean, who literally learns the skill “Mage” anyway? What you will do is learn each type of magic as you come across someone who will teach it. This is the same for fighting with a weapon. The bottom line is that you are gaining proficiency in each of these skills and as you become more proficient, your abilities will become.
Each skill will have 7 Ranks with 5 levels of advancement in between. Of course, at each rank, the effort it takes to raise levels and ranks will increase. (not crazily though) Most ranks will have common ranking bonuses to your character. Any special cases will be noted in the skill list. Non-combat skills will work differently from combat skills as they do not rely on active abilities to perform their tasks.
Combat Ranks Novice = Beginner in the skill. You can use rudimentary active abilities that apply to this skill. You have access to two active abilities.
Adept = Practiced at the skill. Your active abilities are a bit more refined. You have access to two more active abilities. Passive: All active abilities have a 5% bonus when using abilities of this skill. (doubles the effect each rank up)

Abilities Active Abilities Active Abilities are how you implement your skills in the world. They are the practical techniques that are only in use when you command them to be used. Your active abilities are yours to create. Of course, you are limited by your rank but you only need what you want to invest in, you know what I mean? Also, you are under no obligation to create a skill as soon as you level. You can use when you are ready. Even in the middle of a fight as a Deus Ex to save yourself. I have ZERO problems with that style. Especially since I know you can draw blanks on the spot.
Sorry for the thought rambling. The power of your abilities gets stronger as you use them and as your become better using that style of magic. You know, like practicing the same Punch one thousand times. All Actives have a max Level of 10. This is, a way to show what kind of character you have created and what skills they favor over others. Form of your Active abilities should be like this:
Name: Description (MP: Cost)
Passive Abilities Passive Abilities are abilities that are always in use. The passive abilities in this RP are mostly pre-determined. This is really to help streamline them and really knock out most of the common placed abilities without having worry about how you will get them and when you will get them. Each rank, as you saw above, unlocks a different passive. Some of them will get stronger and some will just give an effect. There are three perks that you will be able to create yourself as a passive once you reach Advanced, Grandmaster, and Transcendent ranks for each skill. You will get 7 passive abilities for each skill though, no matter what. Anything extra will come from titles or gear effects.
Titles Titles are rewards for accomplishing things in the world. They give bonus passive effects based on what they are. Some titles will only be earned by one person while some may be given to a group. Either way, unlock conditions will vary and I refuse to tell you how to do it, so go do stuff. As for the Bonuses, I will make those since I decide what the titles are anyway. What game allows you to make a title and then make an effect for it….I’ll wait….No I won’t…NONE OF THEM!!!
Image or Description if what your character looks like
Name: What do we call you? Age: how old are you? 12-35 age range Gender: It doesn’t matter what your character identifies as, I want your birth gender. Personality: Tell is about your character and why they do what they do. Doesn’t have to be in depth but please make some effort.
Biography Tell is about your life until you died. Then tell us how you died. This is casual so I’m not expecting a novel. One or two paragraphs is fine. (I will use this to determine your stats which will be out of 60 points)
Regrets: What are your regrets after dying? You have to have some since you died so young. (I will use this section to determine your starting skills and abilities. A few sentences will be fine. I won’t even read them if they are too long. Keep it brief and true to your character please)
Adventurer Info
This is where all of your phone’s info goes. Spreadsheet Level: 1 Health: Null/Null Mana: Null/Null (For these, I will give a calculation based on your stats and level and I want to make it simple so give me a minute on the math, please)
Stats: (your basic skills without modifications. The average human averages 7 in stats. Which means 42 points and you all already have 60, in so proud) Strength: Attack power and lifting strength and MP Constitution: Basic Defense and Health Agility: Evasion Speed: Point A to Point B movement Intellect: The power of your magic and MP Discipline Magic Defense and your HP
Talents:Here you will list all of the skills and abilities you have. I will have you name your abilities as this is a game and there is no reason for you to be able to cast Mega Blizzard as an apprentice ice mage. Know what I mean? Just keep all things together. If an ability belongs to a skills, list it under that skill.
Inventory: all things you have acquired or have in you Your Smart phone does not need to be here.
In the beginning, there was a singular consciousness who was lonely, existing by itself. Because of this loneliness, this existence divided its consciousness into 4, one retaining its own self and the other three, its children. As he created them, he needed to make sure they do not try to supersede him in any way. So, he named them and using that name, placing solidifying their place under him. However, these were his children and each child represented the three foundations of the multi-verse.
Ayame was the oldest, being the first created, and was tasked in making sure her siblings acted in due bounds. Her two younger brothers were Javohe, the being of Chaos and Ahallan the being of Order. Together, the three existences created the entire multi-verse using their power together and bringing joy to their father. Yet, as sibling rivalries go, it was not long before Ahallan and Javohe began to compete with each other, as natural for people
Ayame watched as her brothers competed with each other to impress their father, The Creator, or what they called him but in their higher-level beings language that I cannot pronounce because I do not know it personally. However, what I do know is that in the midst of their rivalry, the boys began to get violent. Their rivalry turned destructive, causing entire universes, containing bazlillions of lives, to be wiped from existence.
Their father, displeased and saddened by his son’s constant need to outdo one another, set in place a new rule. His boys are to never again do battle with each other. With that singular rule in place, Javohe and Ahallan decided to change the terms of their battle. Instead of them fighting themselves, they would fight by proxy, choosing beings of different world and using them as pawns to fight.
As the universe matured, the twins would swap victories, with each world being claimed by one or the other. However, each world would be completely devoured by the ideology of either Javohe’s chaos or Ahallan’s order.
Which brings me to this world Videllia. The place where Ayame finally decided to intervene, to see how a third party would come about and maybe allow the world to continue to evolve and grow.
Name: Daisuke Masuda Age: 28 Gender: Male Personality: For the most part Daisuke is a positive person, but while it's hard to get him down when he is he is deep down. He has no issues with authority, as long as it isn't oppressive or clearly incompetent, but he prefers to follow his path if possible. While never an issue in his previous life he is weak to the promise of money though his ethics and morals will steer him away from the obviously nastier ways to make it, unless he is tricked.
Biography: Daisuke comes from a lower middle class family and his parents wanted something better for him. As a result while not overly strict in any way shape or form they did somewhat pressure him to do his best in school. Unfortunately his intelligence was about average and he didn't particularly like school. Still he understood his parent's reasoning and eventually went to college, only to drop out during his third year. After two months he found what he thought would be a short term job as a delivery man for UPS.
Cut to fours years later and he still hadn't any better job offers he qualified for. Still his life wasn't too bad. Sure he shared an apartment with two roommates but they got along well enough, and his parents while disappointed he dropped out respected his decision. Things took a turn for the worse when he got into a car accident with a drunk driver on his way home from work. Daisuke died pretty much instantly.
Regrets: His main regret is never getting a better paying job, as most of the money he made went into paying off student loans.
Reading and researching runes. This also means using them but they are mostly used for enhancing things or giving them properties. You put a rune on an item and that item is now enchanted.
Name: Apollo Kaztien Age: 23 Gender: Male Personality: Apollo is a genuinely kind and caring person, although he hates to show it in front of an audience. He prefers it when people see him has manipulative & conniving. He always has to be in control of the situation. For this reason, he has developed a quick wit and always has a trick up his sleeve. He despises skin contact and wears black gloves to help mitigate the symptoms of his haphephobia. He is always calm and collected, never letting others gleam too much. He believes there is power in knowledge and will do most anything in pursuit of that knowledge.
Biography: Apollo's was born to a mother he never knew. Orphaned as a baby, Apollo spent his childhood in a rundown church. He spent his days playing with the children of the church. Somedays the nuns of the church would task the kinds with striking out and collecting donations for the church. During one of these excursions, Apollo befriended an elderly street magician known as Gilles the Beguiler. They formed an unlikely partnership when they were together. Apollo would help call people into watching one of his shows, and Gilles would split a small portion of the profits to take back to the church. All the while Apollo slowly learned the tricks-of-the-trade from Gilles. He specialized in close up magic. A field that requires deft sleight of hand and misdirection. Creating an illusion of magic for spectators to ooh and aah over.
As Apollo grew up, his partnership with Gilles grew too. Instead of just helping call the crowd together, Apollo now performed alongside Gilles as an assistant and fellow magician. They were the stars of the boardwalk. People stopped dead in their tracks to have the wool pulled over their eyes, and Apollo enjoyed every moment of it. When the days were done, Apollo would return to the church and share his experiences with the children. He would tell stories of magic and wonder to them and show them a trick or two before shooing them off to bed. He used whatever excess profit he made from his street shows to help support the church and the children. It was his way to support what he viewed as his family. To Apollo, everything was good.
That all came crashing down when he and Gilles were mugged one night returning from one of their shows. Apollo survived, but Gilles was beaten to death on the Boardwalk they both loved so much. Apollo was never quite the same after that. He grew a disdain for being touched. Contact with others seemingly causing abrupt flashbacks to the night he was mugged and the image of Gilles body. He decided to keep away from the boardwalk for a while and develop a solo act Gilles would be proud of. He spent most of his days in public libraries, studying anything and everything he thought would be useful to become a better deceiver. He read up on the newest technology, psychology, chemistry, and even history. He read everything he could on perception and the art of thieves. He studied the greatest magicians. After he constructed what he thought was the worlds greatest act, he built a stage.
Overnight he returned to the boardwalk and built a grand stage for his new performance to play on. Filled with all the bells and whistles required for his act. He was ready. The sun rose and people began to fill the boardwalk. Many people began to gather around the sudden new structure that appeared overnight. Once the crowd was large enough, Apollo took the stage ready to give the people a dazzling display of illusion and magic, but before he could even announce who he was, the stage exploded. The children who helped build the night before had placed some components too close to each other and caused a reaction that inevitably resulted in the demise of Apollo, the greatest magician that never was.
Regrets: He regrets not being able to continue to support the church with his performances. He regrets not being able to save Gilles that night on the boardwalk, and he regrets not being able to bring the greatest illusions to life on his grand stage.
Inventory: His smartphone, two pairs of black gloves, several packs of playing cards, a set of lockpicks, a single coin, and a cane with a crow head on the top with several compartments hidden within.
