BTW, wouldn't any two simultaneous high-velocity impacts cause hydrostatic trauma? Two sword stabs or even slashes at hypersonic speeds, for example?

I'm just gonna link this to y'all.

It's about Sharp force trauma.

About hydrostatic shock. You realize how big of a bullet it would take to create a wave of energy large enough to reach to Sukoh's brain from any part of his body other than his head? Right?

Though ballistic trauma would be more accurate for anything classified as a missile (pellets, bullets, , etc).

Wait, dont answer the slashing part of the question. I just remembred how hydrostatic shock comes to be. Though still, would stabbing, then pulling out the blade, having the wound collapse in a similar manner have the same effect?

I was not even thinking of using a bullet persay, but that is why they made elephant guns. Still, it has been speculated that lighter and faster rounds are most effective in creating the shock in the first place. So it probably is not near as large as you would think.

@Vordak, And on that note I doubt a sword would cause that effect, as it's far to large and slow. (maybe shear speed could over come that obstacle but it's unlikely) .

Wrong, Good Sir.A stab with a blade carries more force and will generally do more damage to an armored target, as the force of the blow is followed-through by the strength of the one doing the stabbing. A bullet impacts, distributes its kinetic energy, and has no further force to back it up.

This is the part where people that use swords in this RP not only start dodging bullets and laser beams like they're on crack, but now they'll claim their swords can pierce high-grade power armor or ballistic armor with relative ease.

I await the shitstorm.

Actually allot of modern day ballistic armor would hold up well against a sword. Swords are not great weapons against heavy armor anyway.

Unless their swords are made of bullshitium, and they themselves can put several tons of force behind the strike... then they won't be piercing through shit like layered plates of Vanadium Carbide over/under Kevlar padding.

However... so they can't damage the armor... that doesn't mean the person INSIDE the armor isn't hurt by being hit with several tons of force.

The only logical sword that can pierce armor in this roleplay, from all the character sheets, is Maxwell's.

But that's because it's a fucking lance with a point that's on fucking fire. And it's in the hands of a superhuman.

Wait, is that not the sword that would shatter due to it's complete inflexibility due to it's density?

Edit: Heh, looking at it now, It even has a super sharp edge, plot armor is the only thing keeping that sword from breaking from even minimal use.

It's basically a lance with its length, yo. The damn thing is 10 fucking feet long.

He means lance in that it's a 500 pound, 10 foot long massive SLAB of steel, that is ridiculously sharp. Edit: Ninja'd by LeeRoy. How unsurprising.

Nah, once you get to a certain point it's just held together by its own weight. It'd work exactly like a sharpened construction girder.

Lances are not huge slabs of any metal. Nor do they weigh a ridiculous amount. Also your are probably thinking of those tournament lances.

Sharp can be pointed OR bladed.

Lances are pointed spear-like weapons, with no edge. Generally used from a mount or vehicle in attacks, or from emplacements to defend from charges.

Swords are generally between two to five feet long, most have dual edges with a thrusting tip. Generally wielded in both hands if over three feet long.

That said, how big is the character in question? Big enough for that ten foot false penis to be a sword? Or smaller, in that he would use it like a spear?

Please stop making me want to use the facewall.

So you're saying if I picked up a ten foot long kit-kat bar... it wouldn't break under its own weight?

Same thing for an incredibly long piece of steel. Without occasional reinforcement or supports, it WILL bend and break under its own weight.

You are making it a point to be deliberately vague or state half-truths.
