Does remind me I need to get a great sword later for one of my characters.
You and me both.
Can't help but love over-sized weaponry.

GreivousKhan saidA counterweight would still be desirable there, I figure..? Unless the sword in question didn't have that either.
Giant swords for the win. You see, the main reason I thought it was big for him is the fact it is called a claymore....Why make such a massive handle/guard if you only use it one handed?

It's of funny to think that last Omniverses banned guns, and when they did allow them they could not pierce the skin. XD

Hmm, that's because it was a more fantasy orientated Omniverse, I prefer it personally. Swords and sorcery is a lot more interesting than 'I pull the trigger of my Uzi lolololol.'Frankly, it seems like people interested in those sorts of weapons are only interested in winning, but each to their own.

It's not like the strongest characters in the NS dump aren't magic or anything.

I'd rather read about a US or German soldier caught in the Battle of Bulge than about some wizard mowing her way through a horde of Tolkien-style mook orks. In order to fully take in the story potential behind firearms, you need to write more about what the user is feeling while under fire or when they're the one doing the shooting. Appropriate portrayals of modern warfare can be just as engaging, if not more so, than your run-of-the-mill fantasy story. I see this more with people who don't use firearms, honestly.

I'm fairly certain Arty's swords, at least when wielded by himself, would stand a decent chance of piercing armor. Monomolecular edge and all that... Plus the 20 tons of strength behind them when he's got his armor on. He's also got guns (with depleted uranium bullets), but thus far hasn't used them because he can't get any more ammo if he runs out. And speaking of sorcery, if everyone decides not to raise the strength limits I'll probably go with an Asha'man character from the WoT for my first high tier. That or a revamped version of my Noir Cyclops. Thoughts?

If your interested more in gun fights, which I too enjoy, especially the Stony Man series. That's understandable, but to say the story and writing of one is superior to the other cause reasons, is quite silly really. It's easy to make board statements without any truth to it before one eventually start believing their own exaggerated lies. Cause yo, all Anime is about giant bewbs and never have any good writing ever.
