Just let it go man. I made a statement I know I can't back up.

Nope, not letting you off that easy.

Erde pops rock spikes out of the ground and back in every square inch in his control area. He can feel where they hit Arthur, and looks over to see him two miles away. Arthur's move?

Boerd I just got back from standing in one place for four hours just to see my brother for twenty minutes and possibly for the last time in a while. I'm in no mood to deal with you.

You belligerent.

Incompetent.

Child.

Firstly, it was me who put Arthur in he high tier, not Skalla, and that was before I fully understood the capabilities of other high tier characters and what was allowed, so it's debatable if be even actually does belong in the high tier. And even if he does, he's at he very bottom of it in terms of power, and what powers he does have are primarily melee focused. So in essence, you picked the single worst character you could have to fight Erde, a top-end high tier character whose powers have a two mile range. Arty has literally nothing that can be used accurately at that range (yet). So again, worst possible mat neuro you could have picked, since it starts out heaving slanted in favor of Erde simply by virtue of the characters used.

Secondly, your setup makes no sense. They start out two miles apart, and Erde is unaware of Arthur. Ok, good so far. Then we find out that Erde is surrounded by a ten foot thick stone wall in addition to his "body", even though he believes he's alone. Umm... Why? Why would be be wasting the effort? And then he just randomly decides that he's going to spikeify the ground for two miles in every direction, even though he still believes he's alone. Again, why?

I'm not sure you understand the concept of an advantage, as your entire scenario is as much in Erde's favor as it is possible to be, barring Erde knowing of Arthur's presence beforehand (an "advantage" you nullified with a completely non-sensical first attack).

Pick a character who actually belongs in high tier and try again.

Because he has unlimited energy? Walking around popping spikes and moving an enormous stone cylinder is no problem.

Ok, you guys make the matchup and the scenario. Guarantee that unless it is in a building, space, or the ocean, Erde wins.

Give me like half an hour, I'll write up every single way that the high tiers in this roleplay can cream Erde in 1-3 turns.

I'm going by the ones that are actually active.

Skallagrim:
Turn 1- Seidhr Sense to find Erde's weakness.
Turn 2- Draws his sword and stabs Erde's core with little resistance from the titan.

Dou'far Klaast:
Turn 1- Withdraws his vibroblade and charges Erde.
Turn 2- Swings his blade repeatedly, cleaving through the earth that protects his core.
Turn 3- The core is exposed by the repeated slashes, it would take Erde one turn to close back up. Klaast cuts his core in half.

Unbridled Fury:
Turn 1- Charges his energy blast up and aims towards the source of his energy.
Turn 2- Unleashes the energy and destroys Erde's core.

Maxwell:
Turn 1- Pulls out his shield and rushes towards Erde.
Turn 2- The shield collides with so much force that the earth is blown away from his core.
Turn 3- Maxwell grabs the stone and crushes it.

Edmund:
Turn 1- Swings his arm across the ground, tearing the earth up and knocking erde into the air.
Turn 2- Fires a weak laser at the now airborn titan.

Beowulf:
Turn 1- Charges its laser.
Turn 2- Charges its laser.
Turn 3- Fires its laser.

Kanitah:
Turn 1- Moves four rings to his right hand.
Turn 2- Moves four more rings to his right hand.
Turn 3- Moves four more rings to his right hand and punches Erde in the chest with enough force to blow apart the Pyramids of Giza.

Arkaeis:
Turn 1- Charges his void magic.
Turn 2- Fires his void magic at Erde's chest.

I appreciate that.

Really, anyone can beat Garrett. All you need to do is camp at the portal he came through, and eventually he will run out of fuel if he can't find the other. Quick estimation is that to accelerate to mach 10, or 3,400 m/s, requires (roughly 220000 kilograms if memory serves), 0.01 kg of antimatter assuming no friction, which at that velocity is dumb. At that speed, the plane loses 2 megajoules of energy per second to heat, 7.2 gigajoules in an hour. This is of course, very rough calculation I will refine later, but you can very easily fight him to a winning stalemate

Most of those seem alleviable by Erse throwing up a mile wall. Beowulf gives him two turns to make one.

Well, that assumes that Erde isn't paying attention to you. Which he won't if you don't attack him. As long as your first attack kills him, he's literally the easiest person in the entire Roleplay to beat. Beowulf's laser would also just rip right through any wall Erde could put up, if left to charge. Well, Im assuming that it could, anyway.

Hey, I don't remember about him moving 4 rings at once. o_o

Also, don't forget that Erde has access to only raw material, very crude and of low quality. I'm pretty sure that one hail of rockets from Edmund would flatten any wall build by Erde in seconds.

Not that this conversation even matters, because the original point was Erde being easily able to defeat a tank to point out how stupid an idea it is to use a tank in an Arena battle.

It's a stupid idea.

Okay, a bit nitpicky but, if he can move 4 rings in a turn, it's not really "one at a time" though. Well, while the 4x increase per turn looks steep, it's still counted as one prep charge. Oh, hold on....I forgot to consider that the rings won't go back to circling their first body part afterward making it sort of a permanent prep charge....

Hmm.......

I do see the issue of that.

LeeRoy, would it be a nice trade-off to have them act as his primary defensive tools as well? So that when he shifts the rings about, he lowers the defense of whatever part of his body that has less rings on it? Seems like a nice dynamic to me. Adds a deeper sense of "Should I shift the rings from my X to my Y, or should I.." etc.

Also, make no mistake. Shifting the rings is in itself, not a prep. They're the exception. It's like moving your gear from one part of your body to another. An attack using it can still be prepped, and act just as a prepped attack, but that would be a specific action. IE; "The dude started shifting rings to his right arm, his hand brimming with power, readying it's next attack." - Versus "The dude started shifting rings."

Yeah, Green, that primary defense mechanic was kind of an idea that was shuffling through my head. They're rings of energy, so I was thinking they'd be useful as shields against energy based attacks as well. Albeit rather small ones, but for a guy who's purely physical anything's useful.

Also, this is a good point. About the only materials in the ground sturdy enough to withstand any sort of punch or bomb from these characters is corundum and diamond. Access to diamond would require Erde traveling down about 100 miles to get his hands on the raw newly formed and large enough to utilize diamonds. There aren't enough diamonds on the surface of the earth to utilize in the way Erde does. Corundum is also not a super prolific material.

While Erde has range, I made sure to make it so he's fair to fight. Yes, he can make a thousand pillars of stone and dirt. But no. That's not going to slow down any high tier. Any attack that could stop a high tier is also certain to be avoided by that high tier.

Example:
Ripping a vein of iron out of the ground to trip Green's Mech. This would trip the mech and allow Erde access to destroy his foe while he is on the ground. Using the numerous stone tendrils to pull it into the earth before it can get back up to resist. Then using the pressure of the dirt to crush him.

BUT.

If Green's mech saw it coming, it would just accelerate fast enough to rip right through the vein. Rather than letting it trip him.
