Lacey nods, bracing her arms on the fence. “Yeah I can tell. A lot of the new people that get by here can get the general idea fairly quickly, but there’s always little tips, but your technique was flawless. Kinda like Zenith when she first came. Picked it up just like she does any instrument: takes a peek and masters it in moments. She said the same thing, too.”
When Lacey finishes, Zenith was slowing the mare down; there had been a blue roan stud that followed via leading rope. Zenith wipes her brow on her shoulder, and she smiles as she gracefully swings off of the mare and ties the horses to the fence. She approaches them. “Sunny’s ready to ride.”
“And Stormy?”
“Still acting up, but he’s getting better.”
“Your sure you want to ride him.”
“You know me, Lace. I’m not giving up on him.”
“Okay...” Lacey turns to Barry. “Good luck with her,” she mutters.
