Erica's phone vibrated again. It was from Zach. She smiled, how long had it been? Definitely a while. But she didn't feel bitter, or even that upset. It was just a nice feeling, nostalgic even. She replied: 'Hey darling! It's been so long you should be happy I haven't deleted your number! I'm having a night alone though, you? Are you seeing anyone? xx'.
Erica wasn't embarrassed to be upfront, not at all. In fact, she was the uncrowned queen of upfront. If she wanted to know something, she'd ask. There's no point in treading on eggshells if you want to get what you want. She had to have that sort of attitude, especially with people always saying she was only famous because of her parents. She couldn't be too nice or she'd be off the scene in less than two weeks. That was the game.
"Oh..." Jemma dragged on. "I see." she chuckled to herself. "Wasn't too long ago Erica was one of those girls, was it? Actually, I shouldn't say that. She'd be furious if she knew I'd even brought it up!"
"I'm going to eat though... I can't invite you to join us, of course. But you could walk me? There's that restaurant, and loads of others actually. A whole line of them! Of course, you don't have to - but you wouldn't let a lady walk alone at night, would you?" Jemma winked with a smirk.
