Junior | No Conduit | No Familiar D E T A I L E D A P P E A R A N C E:Addy’s a well-known figure around the school to most, given her active involvement in the school’s newspaper. Despite the school’s rather drab yearbooks, The Raven is an award-winning publication that sees praises from critics at every newapaper competition it’s entered into. What it lacks, however, is readership. Though the paper’s distributed weekly in classrooms and via mail to all families affiliated with the school, and available online daily to bibliophobes, the number of readers never seems to grow, and this has been an accepted fact of living in Crestwood Hollow. This is not, however, an accepted criticism of the paper, or at least not according to Addy, and she’s open to making this known to anyone who might say otherwise.
As a co-head of the news column, she’s the better half of the whole force in charge of wrangling new stories out of the existing and frankly quite boring student body, and she finesses that with a small team of reporters and a whole lot of nagging and ethically questionable sleuthing. Having “relations” with the student editor-in-chief opens up a lot of possibilities since the teacher who’s actually responsible for editing the paper gave up their censorship powers a while ago, and if you ask her, she’s just getting started.
With her position in the paper as her primary definer on campus, Addy’s either a harsh critic or a bitch, depending on who’s asked. She’ll take either descriptor since she’s been called worse on multiple occasions, usually as a result of her choice to cover the negative and arguably better left alone. That fifth unsuccessful application for the dance team’s own room? Covered with no sympathy for the sloppy applicants. The lax standards of and on teachers on tenure? Highly controversial and one of her best and worst mistakes, considering that some alums never forgave her for ruining their curve. Naturally, she’s garnered somewhat of a reputation for being a “no nonsense unless you want your dirty laundry very publically aired” kind of person, but hey she’s managed not to get expelled yet. While Addy is now and forever a fair and objective journalist, she’s only impartial in her writing, not in selecting what she chooses to write about. Call her a bad writer and look forward to the top story on The Raven's site the next day because frankly—and this is true—she’s anything but.
Notoriety aside, Addy still comes off as a bitch. She’s uptight and controlling, impatient and stubborn. How Clarence, bless his gentle heart, manages to deal with her on the daily is a mystery that she won’t answer. As she’s constantly in a rush, she walks and talks fairly quickly, her tone sharp and impatient unless she dials it down. She’s well aware that she’s physically attractive, has the body of someone who works out even though it’s actually a combination of twice-a-week sessions and a nonexistent appetite, and she tops it up on the daily with light makeup and some simple accessories—earrings and a necklace, and maybe a ring or two if she’s feeling it. She stands at a slim average in height with blue eyes and a closet of clothes set for the chic streets of New York City, and that entails a lot of monocolor pieces that she’s thrifted over the years. Peacoats and blazers, blouses and high-waisted pleated pants. Shoe-wise she prefers booties and flats depending on the season, only broaching the realm of sneakers when she visits the gym. Although she owns jeans, she rarely ever wears them, favoring a comfy set of sweatpants and sweaters when she’s short on headspace. Her hair’s usually tied back or bunned atop her head, and despite—or due to—the fact that she often ends up looking too put together compared to her peers, she’s fairly happy with where her effort gets her.M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:At this point in time, Addy’s primary motivation is to get where she wants to go: out of Crestwood Hollow and into the only big city that matters. To do this, she needs to attend into college there, and to do that, she needs to keep doing as well as she has since she’s counting on a combination of her grades and her journalistic accomplishments to land her scholarships—plural. Secondary goals include dealing with the mess that she doesn’t call a relationship and trying to survive another year of Tabs’ presence.
When magic is introduced to the current equation, Addy will feel and fight through conflicting pressures to better understand her place in the world. Her dislike of her current position is tandem to her discontent with things she can’t control, which are a lot of things. She’ll be able to experience what it’s like to have the option of loosening up, to sit back and enjoy life, not that she will. At the very least, it’ll force her to reevaluate her goals and worldview since magic has a tendency to do that.
As for why I wanna write her, it’s a combination of wanting high school antics and drama and challenging myself to write said antics and drama. Emphasis on drama.C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:
Addy’s the newspaper girl who takes her small role on campus way too seriously, mostly because she sees it as her best and main feature. She deals with some interesting figures in the journalism room, which struggles to match the drama it hosts with productivity. Though it’s her fifth-period class held after lunch, Addy’s often found in the room regardless of the time of day, regularly pulling late nights to edit articles. In fact, Addy’s a subscriber of the “six hours is enough” club and functions as both a night owl and a morning bird, courtesy of caffeine and sheer willpower. She’s the workaholic with zero chill and loves everything about being stressed and overworked if only because she hates not being both. Between school, the newspaper, and her night job as a barista at a local coffeehouse, she’s gearing up to do big things—just not right now.
Her can-and-will-do attitude stems from her desire to be more since she comes from a family of less. While not destitute, her parents’ jobs haven’t always been as stable as they are now, having been subject to the changing tides of the economy and times. Both her parents have jumped jobs and careers multiple times, working whatever pays best with their scattered skillsets. Although Addy’s always appreciated their love and care, her respect for them has faded through the years, and she longs to be more than just a girl in a small town.S U P P O R T I N G C A S T::Clarence Monroe || Old money, Catholic, and quite properly swoon-worthy, Clarence is both the benevolent head of the school paper and the boy who Addy’s entertaining an undefined relationship with. Anyone with eyes and ears knows that the two have something going on, but as far as his disapproving parents are concerned, he has nothing to do with the non-Catholic girl from an unremarkable family, however much she may disapprove of his ‘god-fearing’ ways.
Tabitha “Tabs” August || According to Addy, Tabs isn’t on her level. According to Tabs, Addy needs to catch and choke on a dick. They might both be reporters for the school paper, but never let it be said that they get along. Only time will tell who’ll get the editor-in-chief position next year because it’s a competition of dogged force and honey-glazed manipulation here in the editing room and no one’s letting up. How the two will manage to get the news column together every week is both a miracle and a mystery.C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:A Hexenbrut in a family that hasn’t touched magic in generations, Addy’s not too familiar with the supernatural—doesn’t even believe in it, in fact. When she does get familiar with it, her conduit of choice will be the silver necklace she always wears, which features a delicate chain from Clarence after the original chain broke. The pendant is a locket with pictures of her dead grandparents, only one of whom she’s met. Wearing around pictures of people she isn’t familiar with is a bit weird, yes, but she’s always found that it feels right.
As for a familiar, Addy doesn’t do pets. Dislikes animals and thinks they’re dirty and more trouble than they’re worth. When the time comes, she’ll grudgingly be forced do adopt the slinky calico hanging around her neighborhood who’s frankly too humanlike for her comfort anyway. More on the ‘cat’ when the cat arrives.
This isn't Brynn! I really like the potential conflict that could come of having someone on the school paper in the group. Accepted!

Junior | Gemstone Bracelet | Eagle D E T A I L E D A P P E A R A N C E:Astrid has the luxury of not being spotted with any acne or scarring, unlike most teens. Her clear complexion paired with her pale, blue eyes, alone, offer strong competition to the girls at Mather Memorial High, but it’s her contagious smile, glistening white with sincerity, that ties her beauty together. Astrid stands taller than most, at 5’7” with a healthy weight of 125 pounds, all evenly distributed over her gentle hourglass shape. Warm brown hair falls down to the small of her back, in flowing waves and layers, each strand as healthy as ever without a split-end in sight. Astrid sports a slender build with wiry muscles that tone well across her figure. Although this would suggest Astrid’s booming popularity in school, it turns out that many envy her natural beauty and turn to resent her.M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:From an early age, Astrid has always lived her life minimally, understanding the difference in value between material things and heartfelt memories and connections. Her driving motivation has always been her mother—she dreams that one day she’ll be able to take her stress and worries away. While Astrid makes an imprint at Mather Memorial for being beautiful and genuine, she holds everyone at arm’s length to protect herself from being abandoned. As she lives on to discover her magical affinity, she will make connections that she would’ve never expected to make, breaking the wall that she so-carefully sculpted to protect her heart. In the end, Astrid hopes she can open up to the right person and allow herself to fall truly in love, like they do in the movies. Such vulnerability is difficult for Astrid to allow, so she finds comfort in her sheltering, though mundane, lifestyle.
Astrid lives with many dreams, but without any guidance on how to pursue any of them. Her self-discovery will lead her to a destiny she never thought would be among her many foretellings, and she will learn how to take the first step—with confidence and with grace. But ultimately, her goal would be to eventually leave her past in Crestwood Hollow and live anew in a different area, once things with her family have been ironed out.C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:Astrid has always envied the families that were shrouded in love, secured by faith, and knit tight with bonds. For her, she only wished she could hold her family together, but the broken pieces were too delicate to sew together herself. Since Astrid could remember, her family was continually crumbling until the majority of Astrid’s life became taking care of her little siblings while her mother scavenged for money and her father succumbed to drugs. They live in a small apartment, but they live cozy and as happy as their life predicament will allow them to. Astrid’s mother lives with a lot of stress, and the empath within Astrid can’t help but carry the weight subconsciously. So she turns to music to relieve her added stress, since she has no real way of helping her mother, which would in turn, help herself.
Astrid grew up feeling the need to always comfort and console, so it has become somewhat of a talent of hers to bring people up when they’re down. This has attracted many people to her, but living in such a selfish society made it quick to deny Astrid of true friends. This makes her distant towards everybody, but close enough to be likable, and then dismissed.
Pressing on into high school, Astrid was above average academically, while picking up many instruments along the way. Astrid has formed a vintage-esque vibe, with a great talent in the acoustic guitar and a very soulful voice. Her identifier at school has always been the ‘guitar girl’. Thankfully, she was never placed among the music/band geeks, nor the choir nerds, but somehow landed her in the totally accepted spot of ‘guitar girl’. There have been times where she was befriended by many popular girls, but Astrid has a very skillful way of distancing herself from those that she deems undeserving of any friendship. Instead, many notice her from afar, but never take the effort to crack her shell; Astrid prefers it this way.C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:Astrid has little to no friends and mainly keeps to herself. Only some of the students would’ve heard about Astrid’s family dramas while growing up, but most just remember her being dismissed from school a lot in elementary school. Astrid hides many secrets about her home life and many don’t think that she would have such struggles.
Astrid works at the local coffee shop.
Astrid’s conduit is a gemstone bracelet that was gifted to her by her grandmother.
Astrid’s familiar takes the form of an eagle and is very protective over Astrid’s well-being. This form makes it easier to properly watch over her and has helped Astrid in many situations, though she may not realize it.
This isn't Felix! :P Astrid is accepted! I feel as though the Magni world is definitely going to come at a bit of a shock for her.

I can make a formal sheet for that if anyone wishes or you can just keep your own notes. I have no preference either way!
