[OOC] Mystique- "A techno-magic world"-NMV

Mystique: A planet where the lines between magic and technology are blurred. A place where one cannot exist without the other. Techno-mages manipulate magic through their machines, all manner of spirits possess vehicles and robotic armor, and the magic itself can become as toxic as nuclear waste. The world is sprawl of steel and concrete cities that tower over the shrinking flora. It has a single reddish moon that the inhabitants, The Mystans, have colonized.

So, magic here, is toxic unless it's used in some type of technological apparatus? And technology is useless without channeling magic?

Yes. It allows those people who like to use guns that use "magic" ammo a starting point without to much hassle.

Will it be an automatic thing? Like go there, and try and use magic and it comes out like unusable sludge - but pick up some piece of tech from somewhere and be able to use it with your magic.

How about tech from other worlds that don't use magic? Will they become disabled?

I would suspect that for the short term off world magic and tech would work but the more they were used the less effective they become until kaput.

Yes pick up tech there and your magic should work. Tech from other worlds should be able to swap out normal power sources for "spirit" or magical ones.

I am actually looking forward to fights here as the concept is one that intrigues me. I have been toying with making a technomacer and setting him up here, ready to defend the world of Mystique. A technomancer who is often imitated but never duplicated, ready to lay the smack down on any damn jabroni who wants some. Cannnnn you smell what the magic brings!!!!!! Boots to asses....*drops mic*

Nope I just provide the world setting you fill it in if you want to. it becomes canon at this point so have fun with it.

Is the planet like earth in that it has a blue sky and normal gravity? pictured a red sky for whatever reason.

Earth-like but the skies are obscured by clouds full of acid rain so a reddish tinge could be present.

Khan, sensing my weak spot shouldn't be a closed post, my character has the ability to mask it with his magic because you're using technology which he can detect, especially when directed upon him.

Yeah your tech can both detect each other and mask yourselves against the other, although it won't be perfect as some errors in scanning will occur until you have engaged one another at least once.

Plus a lot of shielding can fail due to damage or a loss of concentration in conflict, right off the bat however I'd prefer not to be scouted so effectively when my character is equally suited to detection, as a machine.

For a neater post, you can detect on a rudimentary level anything in my satchel, the basic outline of my pistol, some magical residue all around my body, the spider etc, but nothing internal, and when trying to look any further your technology becomes hazy and indistinct.

I don't know what sort of technology you have to stop me from detecting you, my character can see magical energy and has excellent normal vision, so you can decide what he can and can't detect off the bat.

If you intend to detect me though, you can't escape my notice.

I assume you mean the soul Crystal thingamedodad, if so very well, but detecting it is likely a possibility should he start drawing on it. I never saw anything that would block imaging, but that's likely to do with having to read two sheets for one character. :K
