Sarah never thought much of sleeping into sleep. These days, it was between that, reading, eating, and drinking - sometimes when she was adventurous, she'd take a walk or go to the mall. So when sleep came suddenly, she apathetically accepted its embrace, however when she opened her eyes - she saw herself slumped over the chair with the book making a 'thump' on the chair. A blink or two and she just found herself staring, like she was in some bad dream - nightmare? No, being dead wasn't not the worst thing she could've imagined happening to her.
Then she began to slow slowly, causing her to look around in panic as she tried to grasp what was going on. As she went higher, she sighed, thinking to herself, 'I did die.. didn't I?' She groaned and sighed as she started her ascent upwards only to feel a sudden rush of a pull that forced her to yipe sharply. Phasing through the ceiling of her house, she looked up and took a deep breath - or what she imagined to be one - and enjoyed the rushing of clouds, zipping past the moon with a thoughtful smile on her face. She was ready to accept a release from her pain.
As she found herself flying into a bright light, she felt a warmth - at first wondering if this was some form heaven, pursing her lips and curious if she even deserved such a pleasant realm. Her thoughts were interrupted as the heat quickly soared into almost flesh-tearing flames and her mind went blank with pain, causing her to simply scream. No thoughts occurred, only feelings, of deep sadness and anger at herself. She did her best to mentally block the pain out and simply did the only thing she could, which was to endure.
She couldn't remember how long the pain lasted, how hot it had gotten, but it disappeared almost as quickly as it had come. It left her shocked and bewildered, spinning aimlessly in a void that was just full of emptiness - her mind only able to comprehend it as black though not of anything she knew before - not space, not darkness, not shadows, just nothing. Instead of fear, she felt peace and relief at finally just existing within nothing and no worries or troubles to bother her anymore.
A flash caught her eyes though - then another. They were like bright bubbles of light, asking for attention and giggling at her as they slowly began to blind her. She had no choice but to close her eyes. The rush of wind against her body caused them to snap back open though as she found herself above the clouds, floating above a mountainous landscape, beautiful and snow covered - wait, not floating, falling!
Her eyes widened at the realization as she started to fall through the scream and screamed, "what the hell!?" This she could not comprehend - was she alive again? Only to be falling towards some sort of second death? And how the fuck did she end up so high. She tried to look behind her, expecting to see a plane - maybe she was drugged and pushed off for her money - but nothing. There was nothing and she was simply falling. To her death. She'd soon hit the ground now. What was on the other side of it this time?
Everything went black then.
