Chiton is both a yang and a yin release style ninjutsu. The yang aspect allows users to harden blood, change the makeup of the blood and so forth. The yin allows the blood to be manipulated by the desires of the use, a medium for genjutsu, a poison that attacks the chakra network from within, an arsenal of weapons formed from pools of blond on a battlefield. The limits of Chiton are determined both by Jubokko and the user. SPECIALITY The Nagaichi are masters of Ninjutsu, they often have affinity for suiton and doton, but other elements are often exhibited, except for Katon. They struggle the most with Taijutsu because of their smaller frames. They are better built for speed and agility rather than brute force. ▅ LEGACY The founder of the current Nagaichi was among the seven orphans to to find refuge in Kusagakure after being the sole survivor in an attack on an unnamed village near Kumogakure. The Nagaichi have been stalwart among the other Honsei in their preference for blood to answer for blood, they see diplomacy in the same light as sniveling and believe Kusagakure should not be the ones begging for a war to stop. Outside of that they cultivate and sell the fruit from Jubokko amongst the upper echleons of society for a pretty price as a sort of "black market" trade, as eating the fruit has met controversy in the past. VALUES The Nagaichi value power and sacrifice. They view the two to go hand in hand in nearly every instance. For you cannot gain something without giving another. Some instances the sacrifice is small, a price of pain, lost time, money. Sometimes the universe requires a heftier price for power, a loved one, a piece of yourself, and so on. The Nagaichi see the sacrifices to gain power as honorable obligations and award those that make the necessary sacrifices. TRADITIONS The most prominent tradition is the Rite of Ascension for members of the clan to gain the kekkei genkai. The women of Nagaichi are not considered fertile, and many struggle to conceive one child, and two is something short of miraculous. Thus the sacrifice to strengthen the Nagaichi commences. When two children are born to the same mother and father the oldest will be set to "ascend" and the second will be the price for that acension. Under the Jubokko tree on the elder siblings 18th birthday they will fight their younger sibling under Jubokko, allowing the tree to absorb the blood and the chakra of their sacrifice until one is remaining. A festival of sorts is held after only a single son or daughter remains to congratulate the ascension and to reward the parents for completing their obligations. Two days after the Ascension battle the victor will take the only fruit on the low hanging branch saved for the members of the clan and eat it entirely in front of the Kōkina and the current Chimamire, and finally the acsension is over. HEIRLOOMS There is rumored to be a chakra blade hidden in the main house that only accepts fire nature chakra from a Nagaichi member. The rumors are in line with an old prophecy that tells the tale of the end and the new beginning of the Nagaichi through a fire weilding shinobi that cleanses the blood of the Nagaichi with the fire after it becomes tainted. ▅ ORGANIZATION The clan is headed by the Kōkina, which can be passed down only to those who have ascended. Usually the Kōkina have been from the main family but if couples are unable to bare two children then the title goes oustide of the main family. Under the Kōkina is the Chimamire, those who have ascended and have the ability to become Kōkina themselves. Under them is the rest of the clan, the shinobi who cannot ascend and the civilians are all treated the same. FOUNDER Nagaichi (永血) Kei (啓) ∘ Deceased ∘ 12-45 » a ruthless warrior that bore many fruit« Akihiko (明彦) ∘ Haru (春) ∘ Takara (宝) CURRENT CLAN HEAD Nagaichi (永血) Kagura (神楽) ∘ age∘ current age » A trailblazer for the new ers of Kusagakure « Nagaichi (永血) Chiyo (千世) ∘ Nagaichi (永血) Daiki (大貴)∘ Karasu (烏) any ∘ Nagaichi (永血) Hideaki (英明) ∘ Nagaichi (永血) Mirai (未来) ∘ ▅ CREATION The founding of the clan dates further back than even the elders remember. Documents and writings from the old days are insecure and hold many inconsistencies. There are writings about the pale shinobi with red eyes appearing on battlefields and ending wars, other sources claim they are descendants, cousins, of the Ōtsutsuki clan. The tales and rumors go on and on, but what the Nagaichi know as truth is they were once a nomadic group. They simultaneously belonged nowhere and everywhere at the same time. Where bloodshed stains the earth the Nagaichi have always appeared, and in that case it seems like fate that during the warring states period an orphaned wanderer was brought to a place ripe for years of bloodshed. The Nagaichi are devoted to the great tree of Jubokko, and sustain it with their own lives and the lives of allies and foes alike. In turn the Jubokko has gifted not only the clan but the village they have created a permanent residence in. PRESENTLY The clan is rising from the ashes of the second war. With the Kage killed in the battle and a replacement on the rise the time to tip the scales is offering a favorable outlook to the Seeds of Kusagakure, spearheaded by the cultivators of the village. The disruption of traditions have left some of the elders in the clan unsettled, a younger sibling besting an older one is miraculous and they fear the future the girl who is unlike the bunch of them will bring. On the other side of things rumors of the sales of Jubokko's fruit is spreading amongst the neighboring lands, requests for purchase from one considered allies and foes are flooding in, though no decisions to meet the demands have been made... yet. |
