It was the middle of the afternoon for Mariner Bay as the crew of Lightspeed Aqua Base HQ did their usual jobs running back and forth checking in for crimes, and other hardships. Their captain was Anderson Cooper a former member of the Angel Grove Police Department, and military veteran who use to fly jets for the US National Guard. It was after the old lightspeed rangers all but dissolved due to the vanishing of their old leader the Red Ranger Simon Wentz that things got complicated, and combined with a lack of actual monster assaults since they defeated an ancient evil long ago Mariner Bay had seen itself enter a rather normal state. However of course things have been more complicated as of late. The monsters have reemerged and while weak at first even the Titanium Ranger was having issues bringing in the monsters to defeat them.
So they stand in the middle of the Aqua Base, the new candidates for Lightspeed Rescue. Anderson sat in his desk as he looked at the handful of candidates around him. He had them brought here roughly a half an hour ago and after some routine health checks from the Lightspeed medics as a precaution they were deemed good to go. As the man, clad in a lightspeed uniform leaned and a black military style cap, leaned forward he looked at each of the people there. "This is your last chance to leave now. After you join Lightspeed you will be bound to secrecy, more so than you already have after entering Aqua Base, and you'll forever be given the duty to serve, and protect. The people of Mariner Bay will need heroes. It will be difficult but rewarding. I know that you should all have made up your minds but I like to give people one last chance. This will be dangerous. Rangers lead the win. And you will be acting as a first response team to highly dangerous, and violent situations. And you will be the public face of Lightspeed together. So does anyone have any doubts?" questioned Anderson as he gestured around him noting the various pictures of the old lightspeed team, and pictures of the city itself. Maps, and other objects lined the walls of the metal room, and in the middle of the office sat a replica of the city itself. Framed medals from his military days, and other such was also visible on his desk, and on various shelves. "I expect the best from you. I want you to accept this not because it is easy. But because it is hard, and the right thing to do."
