Though his life ended with a sentence to death row, Grant Corrigan began his adult years optimistically enough. He was just another starry-eyed, recent high school graduate with naive thoughts of heroism and civil service clouding his judgment as he stood in the recruitment line. He had not always wanted to serve in the military, but events in his life had driven him in this direction. That, and the thought of protecting his walled city from the fantastical creatures that frequently preyed on travelers too stupid to stick to main roads or too ignorant to know that a main road did not offer 100% protection in the first place.

His service was full of ups and downs and twists and turns, but ultimately it ended in a way he could have never predicated. Faced with the charge of murdering fellow members of his platoon, Grant turned himself in and began a new, more fitting life in a prison cell. Ironically, the prison life was just as structured and routined as the military and it was this fact that comforted the now broken man as he survived, and continues to survive, his days between his cell, the yard, the cafeteria, and back again--every step followed by another from his armed escorts.

Being born to a billionaire industrialist and living a comfortable and privileged life behind the walls can sound like a dream for many, but not for this young lady who has spent her entire life locked inside her father's large mansion all to have her avoid the same fate as her late mother who was assassinated for reasons still not known to her to this day. All her father would say about it was that people from his past wanted to have revenge on him in this disgraceful way for business deals gone wrong. Naive to her father's mastery for secrecy, she always believed him because of her tender love for him; the two share a very close-knit relationship despite him being away very often. To Gabriel, her father, Liana is his pride and joy and would give up everything he has just to protect her. Everyday, he worries for her well-being because he knows her to see the world in a pure and rose-tinted view which can be deadly considering the kind of world they are living in. Little did he know then that his innocent daughter would later exhibit possessing telekinetic abilities, whether through blessing or a curse, that were dormant during her youth, but brought to full force in these most recent years.

Because of this harrowing discovery, Liana, once lively and cheery, is now timid, anxious, and unpredictable at times due to these abilties, but somehow still remains hopeful and strong-willed that somehow it can all be used for something good.
