I really wanted to have a prologue of sorts, like webtoons usually have; I thought it would make things a bit more interesting since that first post was just slice of life. I hope you can look forward to Team Kinryuu's adventures!

Oh, since it was mentioned everyone should stay near their starting points/villages, I assumed it was going to happen now, rather than later. I'll freely work on my first mission then.

So we're going to build the mission board and the special mission board around the backgrounds you guys submitted as well as your first couple of posts.

The reason being that with everyone being from different villages we want to be in the best position to craft a narrative that makes sense. So one way to look at it is that right now we're building an anime experience and before your characters are tried and tested in the mythos building episodes we want to establish them.

Mapo has some really great stuff planned for the mission, which means I have to get to posting as well.

Awesome. I have a mission planned for this week, my characters' introduction arc of sorts, I hope it can help me create Team Kinryuu's dynamic and really get into exploring each of their personalities and ways of dealing with stuffs.

CRIES FROM THE MOON VALLEY CRIES FROM THE MOON VALLEY Rank: C Estimated time of completion: 1 WEEK [22/07 - 03/08] Status: CLOSED The Land of Fire is a wide continent known for its technological advancements, largely attributed to the city of Konoha. However, within its vast territory there are still many regions that keep their traditional way of life; whether that be by choice or because they don’t possess the means to evolve. These rural villages of Fire have their own charm that attract many visitors who seek a break from the stressful city life; they are peaceful, comfortable, and even the air is easier to breathe. However, as the majority consists of only civilians, they are easy prey to any sort of attack or turbulence, and their lack of technology often keeps them from getting any sort of help in time to solve the issue. Thus, for various reasons, these small, time capsule villages have dropped down to a dangerously low number. When reports from one, Tsukitani, arrive claiming terrible monster attacks, harvest fields destroyed, missing children, and bodies found half eaten or torn to pieces; Konoha is quick to dispatch a team of shinobi in order to protect the villagers, find out whatever’s behind the attacks, and help bring Tsukitani back to its peaceful days. And of course it just so happens to be Hotaru, Chisato and their newly acquainted team mate, Sayuri. Reward: No reward for this particular mission as it's meant only as an introductory arc. Notes: Status is closed because I believe I wouldn't be able to explore my characters as well while using them to interact with other PCs. Any future missions will be open for sure. I hope you'll join them!

I still need to edit the first post but it'll be uploaded soon. I'm really excited to start the mission, I've been looking forward to it since I created the characters! I hope you can enjoy it too!

Background:
Not once in his illustrious twenty year post as a medical ninja among Kumogakure's Peace Corps Division did Sosuke foresee a future life on the run. The medical ninja that gained infamy in the border wars, given the moniker The Surgeon of Death at the height of his notoriety, only ever desired a simple existence. For much of his life Sosuke acted out of necessity, always making the appropriate judgment in a situation. His rationality and the air of competency he carried quickly gained the attention of the military's upper echelon. All of his sudden he was given more missions, assigned to high risk areas where a majority of border conflicts originated. Though his wife and daughter suffered from the time apart, Sosuke came to find kinship among his fellow comrades. The daily struggle for survival in war torn sites had mended friendships that would never have existed in the outside world. Though a rational man, Sosuke secretly harbored a tender disposition, and adhered to strict code of morality as a physician.

Throughout Kumogakure's border wars, the number of deaths ran into the thousands, but when a startling number of civilians were killed as a result of violence, Sosuke could not remain silent. Always a calculating man, he had noticed discrepancies in the official report of violence deaths in the region. Investigating further, Sosuke uncovered the precise death toll as well as countless cover ups by the upper branch of government, detailing sanctioned operations to weaken the infrastructure and services of villages in the border regions. When his identity as a whistle blower was officially leaked, Kumo's Anbu had intersected the Bikura family in their attempts to flee the country. Even the Surgeon of Death was but a man, powerless against the reality that human life is frail. Sosuke escaped with his life and his daughter's that day but lost his wife in the process. He has spent the last ten years seeking asylum in the Land of Iron, paying off his freedom as a university medical professor.

Same, same...worst is when I delete an entire paragraph only to realize I really did want it after an hour or so and then having to write it again.

That post is a post by itself because it got that long. This Sayuri section was supposed to be 3 paragraphs (~300 words) long in my plans... I kinda got super into the principal's speech though and was suddenly up 700 words instead. Sorry, not sorry.

Also, let me know if the constant jumping around (there's going to be a lot of it in the next post or two) confuses you and if I should add location and time to the posts.

The past few posts have been great continuations from the openings I'v seen so far. I ended up doing a whole ass post today off of the notes I already had. It hurts a lot when you're continuously committing false starts. Writing paragraph after paragraph to ultimately delete it all in the end; that's painful. Felt better just writing, regardless.

Notes/Comments

About my recent post, I hope the interactions between Yasuke and BB are clear and aren't too confusing. I try and maintain the tone/theme of mental illness, demonstrating Yasuke's POV in contrast with the objective reality everyone's experience. I'd like to try and capture B.B. as her own person while still preserving the fact that she's imaginary.

It's the weekend and for 50ish some odd hours there is freedom from the tendrils of work life, at least for me. I'm going to get up my character's intro and then figure out what his next move is after.

For anyone whose running out of ideas or wants new ones I'd suggest looking to collab, two heads are usually better than one.
