Short Background:
The whole of China was suffering under the rule of the whimsical and petty tyrant, Emperor Yang of Sui, who forced millions of peasants into back-breaking labor to expand the Great Wall and the Grand Canal leading to Chang'an. Between the two projects, more than six million died, and even more died in the Emperor's campaigns against Korea and Vietnam, despite an overwhelming advantage in numbers.

Her father was conscripted as a soldier and eventually became a military commander, surviving every foolish conflict he had been thrown into. Tough and charismatic, he earned the respect of his men and the support of the people he governed. Instead of rewarding his honorable service to the Empire, the Emperor saw him as a threat and exiled him to the frontier.

Zhao had little choice but to mature quickly as a child. Despite being limited as a woman, her mother convinced local villages to lend supplies and support to her fathers troops all throughout the war, and that left very little time for her to play or indulge her curiosity. In fact, her father was a stranger during most of her childhood, and they were only able to reunite due to his exile.

Zhao was never allowed to remain idle. When she wasn't being groomed for marriage, she learned swordsmanship and strategy from her father and his trusted aides. The frontier was a dangerous place, where bandits and roaming Mongols were common threats. She worked hard to honor her father's wishes, and proved herself to be every bit as sharp-witted and charismatic as her father.

Although she had never been allowed to participate in battle, she helped develop strategies that allow the militia to beat back the invading war bands. And they did this so consistently that her father was eventually able to force the Mongols and other tribes into a peace treaty.

When news of these achievements reached the Emperor, he declared her father a threat to the Empire and ordered that her entire family be arrested and executed. With the Empire descending into shambles, and the countryside degenerating into small, independent warlord bands, her father denounced the Emperor and convinced his men to rebel. They marched toward the capital, fighting and assimilating bandits and other militias into their ranks. On the eve following their first victory against the Imperial army, Zhao was slain. While sitting at the table with her father, an assassin's arrow intended for him, pierced her chest.

I thought it was gonna be Physical Augmentation, until BurningDaisies took it some minutes ago. Now I'll probably just finish up my backstory and think about it. Not that there's many left, anyhow.

Lithe and graceful at an exceptional 5’11, Ying Yue’s slender form is very much that of an aristocratic young lady. Her creamy complexion is faultless, contrasting beautifully with the steady warmth of her mahogany eyes. Though once done up with countless precious hair ornaments, her silky, dark hair is now restrained only with a red, braided cord. Her fingers are uncallused, a sure sign of someone who has never worked a day of her life, while her build almost appears frail at times, hardly any significant muscle built up. Yet, despite such a sheltered appearance, Ying Yue is no wilting willow. Her countenance remains strong, her gaze direct. And the many who encounter her are left with the strangest impression.

That of a great tree, frozen in the instant that brilliant lightning struck it.

Personality
There is a haughtiness that exudes out from Ying Yue, a condescension that comes to her as natural as breathing. Her world, after all, was one of conflict and privilege, where the lives of the lesser are traded for prosperity and monuments. But rather than being malicious, the child is simply ignorant, having lived her entire life in her father’s estate, her only moments of freedom found in visiting her betrothed’s own estate. Her points of contact were her family and her servants, the former to be respected, the latter to be commanded, and, in one way or the other, Ying Yue remains emotionally stunted and repressed.

But, sheltered, ignorant, and tactless as she is, something bright still blazes within her, fed by the stories written down upon the scrolls she’s had to smuggle into her private study. A heart of that rages against injustice, a heart that fights for the powerless. The heart of a naïve child, who wishes to make the world a better place with nothing more than their fist and their spirit. Just like the heroes of yore. Just like a fantasy dreamt up in a fever.

Short Backstory
The world had changed, continues to change, and will change in the future, but from her birth to her sudden death, Ying Yue’s life saw little of it. The eldest daughter of a middling aristocrat, her beautiful mahogany eyes were the only thing that elevated her above her siblings, and she was cared for like a doll in return. Feet bound to fit tiny, dainty slippers, watched and supervised day and night to prevent any accidents that would leave a mark, Ying Yue lived in isolation, her strange loneliness broken only when she became old enough to be betrothed, her aristocratic boredom dispersed only by the books she snuck out from a servant’s room. Trashy, tasteless, violent books for the proles, sensational and with no educative value, but entertaining books nonetheless.

She drowned in those stories, filling her mind with stupid thoughts and dreams, fantasies of a world beyond the walls of her family’s estate, away from the designs of her ambitious father and her distant mother. Mere phantasms, flights of imagination to distract her from the life that continued barreling thoughtlessly towards her.

One hazy, summer day, feverish and parched, Ying Yue dreamed of a world where she could be free and she never woke up again.

And hey, Polaris. All electronic items that Ren buys ARE magical items for the purposes of functioning in this new world. So technically, it's still magic. More potent though, would probably be all the science and engineering textbooks that Ren buys. Unless the laws of nature in this world differs from Earth.

The only reason Erika actually catches up with them with their 500 points every level up is because they eat regular meals that gives her a little bit every time lmao

By consuming monsters, or world items, user will gain partial stats from that target (original host parameter / 2 = gained stats).

She gets half the stats of what she eats. To match the statgain of a level up, she 'only' needs to eat someone with 1000 stats. I think she'll be fine. And if you think she won't be fine, she can just eat someone with one of those "+4000 stats per level up" abilities.

Also, just to confirm, Travesty, will you be updating daily?
