This rp idea is about:
The distant future....
Technology grew. The world became the futuristic realms we all imagined. However, in this story, it is no longer the modern way of living. This story is about a princess whose father ruled a futuristic society, whose skills and technology was superior to the rest of the worlds. This was only one society, one kingdom. There were many others.
The time came where the king was to retire, handing over the throne and reign of the kingdom to his only daughter. But, there were two conditions. One such condition was that she had to prove herself. He gave her one year to do so. If she could prove that she was strong enough to lead the kingdom as he did, he would feel safe leaving it in her hands.
That left the second condition. The second condition was that she had to marry. She had to find someone to help her with her kingdom, even if he was not the leader himself. He married her mother when they were her age, as did his parents and their parents and so on. You could call it a royal family tradition that had gone on for well over 1,000 years.
The princess would be appalled that her father asked her to do such a thing. The way he made the condition clear? Well, to her, it sounded like he was making her go through what was practically an arranged marriage. As, like with the first condition, he was only giving her a year to do. This would upset the young lady. That was for certain.
The princess would beg and plead with her father. She did not wish to go through with the second condition that he named. She was more than willing to do her best when he came to the first, but she wanted nothing to do with the second. She enjoyed her freedom. She did not want it to be taken away from her, which is what she thought would happen if she was forced to follow along with the so-called 'family tradition' that he told her about. But, his mind was made up. The king would not budge on this. His decision was final. The conditions would remain and they would not change. She had no choice, nor a say in that matter.
The young lady was quite upset with her father. But, she gave up. If she wanted to be queen, she had to go along with whatever he wanted to get there, even if it meant doing something that she did not ever wish to do.
That was the start of this tale......
Eventually, word got around. Princes, nobles, wealthy businessmen, dukes, counts, barons, and every other male with a title and such came out of the woodwork, so to speak, to pursue her, or rather, the position they would obtain if they were to gain her hand in marriage. The men were of various ages. Some were the same age as her(18/19) and some were older. There were even some men old enough to be her father, which actually freaked her out some.
She could not believe that she had to choose a husband from among these men. They, in her opinion, were not good enough to be suitors. But, they were the only ones coming to seek her out. She was limited when it came to a potential husband. She frowned when she thought about that one day.
Anyway, one day, she had an idea. She would make them compete, to fight with each other. If they could prove themselves, prove to be the best, and the most worthy, she would choose them. She would marry them.
She hoped this would work. She wanted someone that she could get along with, at least. If she had to marry, she wanted to be with someone who she could at least be friends with. She did not want to spend almost every day yelling, or hiding out with nothing to do but come up with new blueprints for new possible technologies.
The men could not believe their ears. They could not believe what she was trying to put them through. However, they would not be deterred. They were determined to become king, to gain her hand, no matter what. Those men, those so-called suitors, were going to do whatever it took to make her their wife so they could rule the kingdom, to have power over the best technology and land. That greed would become very clear to the princess.
Of course, there were a few who were not greedy. They only pursued her because their parents, their families, were making them, hoping to elevate their status in society, so to speak. These were gentlemen who truly cared. However, the princes did not know that, nor did she notice such males. She was too busy doing what she was doing.
Time passed......
The men would continue their pursuit of her, no mater how long it took. That created a big question. The answer to it was not clear however. The question was:
Who would finally win? Would it be a greedy man, or one of the power-hungry perverts that she detested? or would it be a gentlemen? someone who would simply be a friend? Who knows?
Of course, a threat would soon become clear.....
Some of the men threatened war if they were not chosen. They were that cold, that spiteful. The princess could not believe that those men could be like that. What was she to do? This meant that whomever she chose would also help to determine the kingdoms' safety and security. That would make the decision, in the end, all the more difficult.
And so that great journey, full of obstacles, in a world where technology and crown rule(kings, queens, etc.) would meet, was about to begin.......
What was going to happen?
