Background

Orphaned since her childhood, Apsari had never known her origin. As far as she could remember, she had been living as a slave, born to unknown parents and place. It was at her thirteenth year of living her condition began to change. An owner of a high-class bathhouse needed someone as a servant, and she thought that Apsari had a fitting look for such position.

Living for about six years under the tutelage of senior entertainers granted Apsari with proficiencies in arts. She was promoted as a hostess for the bathhouse. Her dancing was unrivalled and her singing was the reason people flocked into the establishment. Even so, her owner still had not considered her as a free person.

At one time, Apsari's charm captivated a young noble who was visiting the bathhouse. He offered the owner a great amount of money so that he could bring her into his manor. After some times, the young man was killed in battle and Apsari's ownership was transferred to his still living father, the advisor of the King himself. Being already old and losing interest in appreciating beauties like young people does, the advisor offered Apsari to the King as his concubine. The King accepted his advisor's good will.

It was easy for any traditional men of culture to be captivated by Apsari's beauty. Her fair alabaster skin truly radiates her charm, augmented by the contrast of her hazel-colored almond-shaped eyes and the thin rounded eyebrows settling above. Not to forget, her unique features of low-bridged nose and thin lips being properly placed on Apsari's diamond shaped face. A beauty spot properly seated right under her left eye. Her long black hair falls onto her back, contrasting the color of her skin and further increasing her appeal.

Weavers and tailors were eager to craft beautiful clothings for Apsari. They were competing to design the fitting dresses and mantles for her to wear. Her measurements were considered a trade secret among the artisans for quite some times. Though, it was highly possible that everyone would have the same record: five feet and six inches in height, thirty-two inches for her breast circumference, twenty three for her waist, and thirty three for her hips. Though nobody would ask about her weight, her slim figure would land an approximation of around a hundred and six pounds.

Although Apsari had been living among the courtesans, she had no experience in offering services beyond appreciation of arts. No one knew how her body feature looked like behind the layers of garments she wore. Gossips were there, mentioning about beauty mark locations on her thigh and her bottom, even the shape and the depth of her belly button, but none could confirm the truth.

Apsari had almost no happy memory of her childhood. This reflects in her usual melancholic mood, being seemingly sad and deep in thought. It also makes her being quite restricted toward others, preferring to have deep contemplations on her own rather than involving herself with small talks. It never meant that she's generally disliked as she is nice toward others. Apsari has no particular ambition and quite hesitant of her own potentials. She longs for a stable life after so many years living in fluctuating dynamics of her surroundings.

Even so, being taught in performance arts has made Apsari quite conscious to details. She's quite eager in adjusting her musical composition, the dictions in her poetry, and the details in her choreography into perfection. Yet, she rarely accepts any radical changes in the genres of the form of art she's getting involved. She prefers to follow forms and rules and arrange the beauty out of it, both for her arts and her way of living.

Superhero Themed Character

Name: Kaori Mitsuzuri

Background
Kaori Mitsuzuri was born twenty four years ago but she had left her homeland in her early age. Her parents took her abroad and raised her to become more familiar with her current place than her ancestral home. Everything was normal for a girl like Kaori to grow up and be educated enough to aspire for a higher academic degree. In her age, she already graduated her master degree and currently working as an assistant researcher and a doctoral candidate in Anthropology.

Kaori's research was quite noetic. Her current professor somehow noticed a strange phenomenon that would possibly falsify a commonly accepted theory. There was a collection of ancient artifact that Kaori's colleagues discovered, unknown in their origins. The carbon dating resulted in unbelievable figure. These complex artifacts had been here before Homo sapiens even emerged.

It was after Kaori and her professor published their discovery that her life became more complicated. She received a series of death threats, along with her colleagues and the professor himself. The threats came from various sources, but all of the message contained a single noticeable connection.

There was a group of people, being secretive in nature, that had been commiting themselves in the concealment of the subject being recently discovered by Kaori and her colleagues. They considered that the mystery of the subject itself is dangerous, and only a few selected people that the mystery should be learned, themselves. Kaori's team obviously disregarded those people's warning, seeing them as a mere nuisance coming from eccentric unimportant community. Alas, they had to pay the price.

A series of accidents happened, some of them were quite fatal. The victims were mostly from Kaori's team member. Even Kaori herself got a taste of those madmen's devilment. At one night on her travel as Kaori went home from her overtime, a myterious man wearing a strange coat approached her. She didn't even have time to notice the man, only to realize that several bullets had just punctured her stomach.

In her desperation as she struggled for her life, the jewel artifact Kaori brought along with her reacted. The object embedded itself inside Kaori's body through her gunshot wound. The process quickly restored Kaori and healed her wound, but also morphed her into a monstrous humanoid body. The jewel itself protruded in front of Kaori's navel part, glowing with dim purplish light.

The man Kaori encountered was surprised. Somehow, he immediately morphed into another monstrous form. Yet, before he finished his transformation, Kaori attacked him in a single killing blow. The remain of that man's body withered away as if it was burned ashes. That was the first time Kaori got her power and her first encounter with her enemies.

Personality
It has been known by her colleagues that Kaori never likes small talks. Her choices of conversational topics are mostly things which would incite deep thoughts, something that a lot of people would probably avoid. It doesn't mean that she's not nice. She's eager to help her friends during their difficult times. She's also open to accept new things. It's just that she doesn't really feel comfortable in being too open to just anyone.

Her attention to details is scrutinous, sometimes borderline annoying. Even so, she's not reluctant to apologize. She's aware that this attentive behavior being her weakness. As someone who's quite confident in her own capabilities, such realization doesn't really bother Kaori herself.

After facing the tragedy that made Kaori lose her friends, she becomes more melancholic. Kaori sometimes detests the power she gained from the artifact embedded inside her, being of the same nature as her enemies'. Her calm demeanor changed when Kaori morphs into her super form. Strong emotions fill her heart and fuel her power. In spite of that, Kaori has been slowly regaining her calm behavior even in her morphed form. She's been getting used to her own change.

Appearance
According to her friends, one of the striking features about Kaori has always been her long black hair that falls to her back, long enough to reach her armpits. Her fair skin contrasts with her thin hazel-colored almond-shaped eyes with a pair of thin rounded eyebrows above them. One might say that her face is diamond shaped with thin lips and a low-bridged nose, all of them complemented with unique asian features.

Kaori has an average height for a woman of her age, with her slim hourglass shaped body that would appeal for some. A quite bawdy remark about her appearance is that she has a "good child-bearing capable body". She never likes that commentary even if that holds some truth and she's secretly proud about it.

Kaori's morphed form looks quite hideous for some. She still retains her body shape, but a thin layer of dark purple carapace, similar in look as the muscular fibers, covers most of her body from her toes up to her lower jaw, fits in form with Kaori's unclothed body. The fair skin of her face darkens with purplish hue and the iris of her eyes glow in violet shade. Her hair changes color into dark indigo. The orchid-colored oval-shaped gem, the artifact itself, protrudes right at where Kaori's navel lays.

Though not pursuing a career in sports, Kaori is capable of performing basic gymnastics skills. She had this as an extracurricular activity back in her school days. Her acrobatic skills would greatly improve when she access her morphed form.

- Kickboxing
A side activity Kaori chose after working hours was a combative sport. She started this exercise at the beginning of her college year. Unlike gymnastics, Kaori has no plan on resigning this activity at all.

- Analytical thinking proficiency
Being experienced in particular academic discipline has made Kaori get used to a certain way of thinking. This has proven useful during her attempts in solving complex problem.

Morphed form
- Superhuman strength, agility, senses, and endurance.
Calling the power of the artifact embedded inside her, Kaori would morph into her super form. Her power, speed, acuity, and stamina are exponentially increased in this form.

- Form focus
Kaori can switch between several forms to greatly focus one aspect of her increased attributes. Her hues also change with the form she chooses at a particular moment. Red for strength, blue for speed, green for acuity, and yellow for endurance.

- Energy blast
The artifact embedded inside Kaori allows her to gather raw energy that she can further use to obliterate her enemies. When she does this, the protruding crystal at the center of her abdomen gradually increases its brightness, indicating an escalation of energy contained within it. Kaori then point the crystal toward her target, with her belly stretched to allow for maximal energy to be released from the crystal. The energy blasts out of Kaori's navel crystal as a purple colored beam.

Sophia can overcharge one of the four attributes: strength, endurance, acuity, or speed. The overcharging would lower her another attributes to 90% effectiveness.

Weaknesses:
- Human-Super Separation

Sophia needs to utter a certain spell to access her power. In her powered state, Sophia's superhuman endurance is able to decrease the damage that can hurt or even kill any person. However, out of her power, Sophia is as frail as a human can be. Whatever can hurt or even kill a human has the same effect to her when she's not accessing her Black Lotus form.

- Inexperienced and Reluctant

Having the same origin of power as her designated enemies, Sophia is reluctant to use her full potential. Sophia can only access her power for 4 hours at most and requires 2 hours rest to recharge. Sophia's Overcharge also has around five seconds charging time that would render her superhuman efficiency lowered to 90% during her change.

- Kill Switch

A hidden spell in an ancient book written in unknown symbols of an unknown language spoken by unknown creatures that probably had different vocal organ, is able to nullify Sophia's powers and inflict her with a terrible pain in the process. The Eldritches has a lost history that at one time, their plan was almost averted by a heroine having same power as Black Lotus. They found a way to anticipate her coming, but the knowledge has yet to be found.

Being an experienced academic professional grants Sophia with a proficiency in general analytical thinking and, specifically, an expertise in identifying phenomena under the domain of her expertise as an archaeologist.

- Gymnastics

Sophia took gymnastics as an extracurricular activity during her school years. She won a championship as the first place winner. Some skills were retained during her time being a The Black Lotus in helping her maneuvering the city as she hunts her enemies.

- Dancing

Sophia knows ballet, ballroom, latin, and jazz dance. She took some courses as side activities during her college years. This kept her healthy and being in good shape. Sometimes, this skill gained her an attention from a certain person she targeted for information.

Sophia has already seen herself that not all of her colleague are nice to her because of purely professional reasons. There has been some occasions that her team mate will always losing focus when there are only two of them in the same room. Sophia knew every time this happened, she just chose to ignore it.

- Fashion ignorant

A pair of glasses, hair tied in bun, t-shirt behind a functional jacket, long pants, and a pair of sneakers are what one should expect in seeing Sophia outside. She despises any dress codes beyond casual style except when she needs to gain attention of particular people when she looks for a certain information.

- Black Dress

Sophia switches her clothing into a dark attire during her transformation. This gained her a moniker, The Black Lotus.

BRIEF Bio:
Sophia got her power when she tried to analyze a strange tome that her colleague found deep in the underground archive. Since that moment, a strange figure visited Sophia in her dream on nightly basis. That figure, appeared as a woman, repeatedly said something that initially Sophia was not able to understand. It was after the same figure showed a sequence of symbols that Sophia began to see. The symbols was written at one part of the tome. As she matched the sounds and the symbols, Sophia was able to finally recite a complete line of that book. Little she knew that she had just activated an ancient magic.

Through that magic, Sophia awakened her power, but the process also flooded her brain with a stream of information about an imminent ritual sacrifice that would be conducted by a group of sentient creatures of the ancient world, currently in hibernation. When the stars come into their right place, a catastrophic event would begin in that mankind would be sacrificed for the coming of an ancient Eldritch Overlord. Sophia's utterance of the spell resulted in the early awakening of the creatures as their powers are still immature, allowing them to be stopped before the cataclysmic event begin.

Even so, the task of stopping the Eldritches fell into Sophia's hand, but their presence among human community is still unknown. However, there's a rumor about a cult that worships the Eldritches that the members are a cabal of mafia ringleaders. Sophia also felt obliged to put herself in their way.
