I like to ret-con the Pokémon setting so characters must be 18 years old before they can become a Pokémon trainer, Coordinator or whatever.

What am I looking for, you (hopefully) ask? Well, some largely light and highspirited lines in the Pokémon universe!
Now, so no one's time is wasted: At the moment, I'm largely seeking a male OC x female canon pairing. (Yes, yes, I know; roll your eyes, boo and sneer if you must. :P)
For those willing to consider it, I don't insist upon or expect rigid canon adherence. Honestly, I'm 100% fine with partners adding their own personal spin/flavor and headcanons onto one of these characters, or playing AU versions of 'em.
I Request That Partners...
- Have a solid familiarity with the Pokémon universe's lore/mechanics! (If it's been years since you last played any of the games or watched the anime, we might not be compatible.)
- Be willing to write semi-descriptive Pokémon battles (with Pokémon being merely KO'd rather than maimed/killed) and put creative spins on attacks a la the anime!
- Ignore the games' "Four Moves of Doom" limit in favor of a Pokémon being able to use (and potentially learn) many of their given moves!
- Be comfortable writing at least two solid paragraphs a post (3rd-person POV, past tense) and put solid effort in their writing!
Sought After Pairing Dynamics
- M x F
- Playing as a switch male character (particularly this one, but I'm certainly open to creating others)
- Playing against a female character-a partner's RL gender is a nonfactor
- 2D, art and anime character faceclaims only
Writing Style & Preferences
- 2-4 solid paragraphs on average, 3rd-person POV (some writing samples)
- RP Mediums: E-mail (preferred if possible); Private Messages
- Open for one-shots, short-term lines and long-term RPs (prefer starting with a one-shot and then expanding if mutual interest and circumstances allow)
- Laidback post frequency (1-2 replies a week on average)
- Story + smut or story-driven smut, each element supplementing and providing solid foundation for the other (particulars can be discussed in private)
- Greatly enjoy casual OOC chunnnering and geeking out over lines with partners (sharing line-related media, personal headcanons, etc.)
- Fine with waiting considerable periods between responses if kept in the loop by partners (will close/archive a line after a month of unaccounted-for radio silence)
Desired Tone
- Lighthearted adventure and high-spirited noblebright maintaining the anime's light, playful vibe (equally game for more slice-of-life stuff)
- Copious tongue-in-cheek humor and banter, levity, and hardedged "Eff you!" positivity
- Quiet moments of character growth
- People being capable of warmth, compassion and empathy (even if oddly/poorly displayed)
- Shameless fluff, romance, and ecchi goodness when/if appropriate
- Fine with high stakes when needed, but largely seeking highspirited adventure and comedy
- Above all, a general sense of fun (the characters openly enjoying each other's company and the situations they find themselves in)

I've got three general open-ended ideas in mind, and I'm open to alterations.
◆ Idea 1
Plot-wise, the classic Pokémon journey is very much something I'd be down for playing. (I'd greatly prefer our characters be relatively experienced, rather than them just starting out or beginning their journeys.) Highspirited adventures and journeys, that's the ticket. Ideally, a sort of rom-com deal with plenty of fluffy funtimes between two traveling trainers/Coordinators/Frontier Brains/Elite Four members/whatever crushing on each other, with plenty of lighthearted—and lightheartedly smutty—slice-of-life moments (a Pokémon capture, a tournament or festival battle encounter Meet Cute, those sorts of things).
◆ Idea 2
Related, I'd certainly be open for some slice-of-life lines exploring the day-to-day aspects of our characters' careers (training, being in the mood to celebrate after an especially intense/noteworthy victory, one needing reassurance after a narrow or devastating loss, etc.). Or perhaps our characters have arrived at some annual meet n' greet for newly-minted Elite Four members/Top Coordinators/Frontier Brains, returning to some elite Pokémon academy as newly minted professors.
◆ Idea 3
Another idea I have involves our characters being rivals and two of their generation's most talented figures. (I'd especially love it if they had sharply different approaches to both life and their fields, one being a fiery force majure on the battlefield/stage, while the other's the calm eye in the raging storm.) You know, them being intense yet oddly-respectful rivals and foils with an "iron sharpening iron" mentality, their prodigious skills eclipsed only by the captivating nature of how different they are. (It could also be their form of courtship. ;)) A constant shifting tide of counterplays where they trade victories regularly, and their cordial interactions in public always carried an undercurrent of competition that wouldn't fail to draw the media's attention. Of course, such constant power plays would (ideally) extend to more romantic matters as well. Something lighthearted and humorous with a vibe like this pic. :p
