Lotus' General 1x1 Thread

Hello there! With the new year and holiday season finally being over, and a bunch of ideas circling around my mind throughout said season, I figured I may as well make a more general interest thread, which of course I may add to and tweak over time depending on what I'm looking for. I'm always open to new RPs, just PM me here if anything catches your interest and I'm sure we can figure something out! 

A little about me: my name is Lotus, I use they/them pronouns, I'm 20 years old, and in GMT timezone (though in all honesty, with my fucked up sleep schedule that hardly matters lmao). I've been RPing on and off since I was around thirteen, and been writing since before then. I'm not sure where exactly I'd place myself on the casual-advanced scale, since as a general rule I'll just do my best to at least match the length of my partner, though I'm fully capable of churning out multiple paragraphs. All I ask is that my partner doesn't just give me one-liners - would prefer at least a paragraph. 

I am willing to play any gender character, and happy for you to play any gender either! Whilst I have a slight preference for MxM or FxF, I'm down for MxF as well (and in fact, I feel that some of the plots listed may work better as MxF), just let me know what you'd prefer. Romance isn't a necessity but I absolutely do enjoy it. When it comes to explicit content, I'll say that if we did go down that route I'd prefer to fade-to-black, although depending on the RP I may be willing to try something out, best thing to do it check in with me at the time to see how I'm feeling with it. (Though if you are a minor, whilst I won't say no to an RP, I would not want any sort of smut involved, even a fade-to-black.)

In particular, I've really been craving something a little darker recently, focusing on an unhealthy relationship of sorts, and am specifically looking for someone to play a bit of a villain (the plots below may give more context to this request). I don't have any limits when it comes to angst and darker content, so fr go crazy, but of course if you have any boundaries do let me know! I'm also up for something more lighthearted if that's what you'd prefer, or a plot that focuses more on hurt/comfort, but again, really craving some good angst right now. 

But yeah, have a look over the plots below, or at the general pairings, and shoot me a PM if your interested! Happy to RP through PMs, thread, or discord, whichever you'd prefer (my discord is lotusthatexists#1512 if you'd prefer to message me there), again just let me know. So yeah, onto the fun stuff!

This could go a few different ways: 
A mermaid washes up on the shore of a beach, injured in some way (thinking they could be tangled up in something, ie a fishing net or human junk etc), and a human (possibly some sort of scientist) finds them and takes them in, helping them heal.
Similar to above, a mermaid washes ashore and a human finds them, though in this case the human is a scientist who takes them with the intention of running experiments on them. (This one in particular has the potential to get very dark.)
A mermaid is being held in captivity (ie in a zoo or aquarium) and a human (could be a worker or just someone visiting) forms a bond with them, possibly helping them to escape.

In each case I have a preference of playing the mermaid, though I may be willing to play the human if you ask. Also happy to hear any other ideas you may have!


This would take place in a world where humans with wings exist, though are rare and not super accepted by most of society, with most living in hiding or on the run from hunters. This could be in a fantasy setting or a modern setting, or even a sci-fi setting although I'm less experienced with that, all depends on what you'd prefer. As for how this rp would work, there's a few different options depending on what sort of character you would want to play:
Two winged humans on the run from hunters (could already know each other or meet somewhere down the road)
One character (winged or non-winged) finds an injured winged character and helps to heal them (thinking the injured character has recently escaped from some hunters)
A winged character is kidnapped to be experimented on (this one has the capacity to get very dark)

In each case I do have a preference for playing a winged character, though again, may be willing to play a regular human as well depending on the plot, just ask! And again, happy to hear any of your own ideas.


A human tags along with their friend to a house party, though not long into arriving they lose their friend, and find themself alone in a room full of strangers. After searching for their friend for a short while with no luck, they think about leaving, though they don't seem to be able to, pushed back by the crowd and eventually finding themself surrounded by, oh god, vampires. From here, the plot could go one of two ways - either the human is kidnapped by those vampires and held hostage in that house, or another vampire at the party takes pity on them and 'rescues' them (although this will result in the vampire essentially kidnapping them anyway under the pretense of hiding them from the other vampires). Then from there, it would really depend on what kind of characters we want to play - the plot could focus on the human trying to escape (with or without the help of other vampires), or could grow complacent with their new life, perhaps a sort of stockholm syndrome situation. 

I've done a plot similar to this in the past and that is actually one of my favourite rps that I've done, so would really love to try something like this out again! Last time, I did play the role of the vampire, though ever since I have really been wanting to try it out again but playing as the human, so ideally I'm looking for someone to play the vampire here. If you wanna tweak any of the ideas here, let me know, I'm totally willing to hear your ideas as well! But yeah, really craving this one in general rn.


For this, I'm specifically looking for some to play a pirate captain, with myself playing either a stowaway or a prince(ss) who has been kidnapped to hold for ransom (or possibly a combination of the two). I don't have a super clear plot for this one, so that could be something we discuss, but this has the potential to be very dark or more lighthearted depending on how you wanna play it out. I could also be convinced to play the captain instead, although that would depend on how I'm feeling. Feel free to share any ideas!


None of these have a specific plot, but if there's anything that catches your eye feel free to ask about it and I'm down to brainstorm, or if you have a specific idea then we can absolutely go with that! Honestly this also goes for anything listed above, if you have any ideas at all shoot them my way! For any pairings, my prefered role will be listed in bold, though for some I may be down to play the other role, again just ask! Some of these may also be combined/tweaked.

These will probably mostly be canon x canon, although I'm open for oc x oc specifically in fandoms that have more of an established world (if you're unsure, just ask!). But in terms of characters, let me know what characters you'd want to play or want to play against and I'll see what I can do, or if you don't have any specific preferences, just ask and I can let you know what characters I'd be interested in playing! Super flexible with these. Also, if you want, any plots/pairings listed above can of course be applied to the fandoms, or we could come up with something else, or if you have any ideas I'm down to hear!
