Welcome Townsfolk,

Welcome to your new home, we find ourselves in the city limits of Pleasant Hill, an idyllic place of residence for all manner of families and single people. We have the best high school around for those families with those raucous young ones, maybe pop wants to go for a night of bowling and cards with his buddies over at Stanley’s Alleyway, or maybe even the ladies in the family want to shop ‘till they drop in this here new mall we got built last year, golly we have it all so there’s no reason to leave since you’re here.

---

This roleplay will be in the same vein as the movie Pleasantville, added with the initially mysterious decade hopping suburbian drama of Wandavision. Our characters are modern day normal high schoolers in their last week of school in senior year, so they do what seniors do best, and throw a party, each character somehow finding themselves watching the old tvland show of Pleasantville. After a freak lightning storm hits the area and screws up the host’s tv, a repairman shows up and gives them a special remote to get the tv working again, but upon using this remote, our characters are transported into the lives and shoes of characters in the tv show with no way to get back.

We can discuss as a group if we want just one person who knows the script of the show or if everyone does, either way, they have to tread the fine line of keeping up appearances or going off script. In going off script, the more something or someone acts out of place or out of character, the more that thing/person becomes technicolored (the whole setting everything in sight is black and white) Either way, in an attempt to get back to the real world, changes the show forever and possibly themselves. The aspect of the decade hopping comes in the form after a set of 4 season finales signifying each season of the year at 24 episodes a pop, and each decade brings new wrinkles to the dynamic. For example, in the 50’s everyone will talk in the period (golly gee, Daddy-O, calling someone a Greaser, ect). Also similar to the movie Pleasantville. The town will be in it’s own world at first, so if we write a football game for example, it’ll always be a home game and nobody questions where the away players come from.

Any questions so far? I'm looking for anything from a 1v1 to four other players, though more can join if they wish

I might be interested but…

I want to play a gay character, and I don’t know how that’s gonna fly in the 1950s…
