Appearance:Rex stands slightly shorter than most SPARTAN-IIIs, and is of a broad build. His skin is pale from being in his armor most of the time, and he tends to sunburn easily. Much to his chagrin, even after training and augmentation, he still has something of a baby face, and prefers to keep his helmet on, though he has a set of scars on the right side of his face. During an operation against Insurrectionists in 2554, he lost his right arm below the elbow in an explosion.

combat knivesPersonality:Overall a quiet individual, Rex finds it difficult to interact with other people, regardless of their species. The one individual he has little issue communicating with is
Kiko, the personal AI assigned to him, as well as a Swords of Sanghelios Unggoy by the name of Kipkip; the two have bonded over their shared love of
flip music. Despite his history with Covenant races, Rex has no animosity towards any of them (part of why he was chosen to be part of Fireteam Maegophet). Like the rest of SPARTAN-III Gamma Company, he received a mutagen that altered the frontal lobe of his brain that enhances aggression, endurance, and pain tolerance, and requires regular access to drugs known colloquially as "Smoothers" in order to control the side effects of the mutagen.
Background:Born and raised on Alluvion, Rex was orphaned during the Covenant's attack and glassing of the planet. From there he was conscripted into the SPARTAN-III Program and trained on the planet Onyx. Due to his performance and skills he was selected to be a Headhunter. During the Covenant's attack on Earth in 2552, he and his partner Rosa-G044 were deployed to Luna to assassinate a high-profile Sangheili commander. The mission suddenly changed when the UNSC and Sangheili became allies, and in the closing days of the Human-Covenant War, he fought alongside the very Elite commander he was supposed to kill after the death of Rosa. Following the war, Rex was assigned multiple assassination and sabotage missions against Insurrectionist forces. In time he was assigned to a joint fireteam composed of members of the UNSC and Swords of Sanghelios, and were eventually deployed against both Created and Banished forces.
Additional notes:"After extensive tours with both ODST and SPARTAN-IV personnel, G124 has developed something of a dramatic streak, and that tends to translate into his affinity for flip music. While playing a flip rendition of Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' in a D77-TC during a combat deployment can improve troop morale, it is highly discouraged so as not to distract other personnel."

"It's not uncommon for Spartan personnel to pick up habits during tours of duty with the Swords of Sanghelios, and G124 is no exception. After serving with Maegophet, he's started taking the occasional trophy from enemies. Weapons and pieces of armor are known to be parts of his collection. It's probably for the best that he finds the Sangheili's practice of
Shrwssha'wash to be distasteful. I will monitor and send information of each piece of his collection so far."
