Proficient in archery and one-handed weapons. Prefers a stealth approach but can get down in up-close encounters when needed. Partial to light armor, skilled in survival in harsh terrain, theft, and alchemy. Has some skill in destruction magic, but has no formal education so her magic is a bit finicky. Uses it sparingly, but would like to learn.

Backstory

Lyra grew up in the harsh environment of Windhelm, enduring poverty and discrimination as an elf in a city fraught with racial tension. Determined to survive, she learned to fend for herself and on the streets, eventually becoming a skilled fighter. She distrusts authority and prefers to rely on herself, having been let down by others in the past. Despite her tough exterior, she holds strong beliefs in justice and fairness, often taking up causes against oppression, injustice, and tyranny.

Equipment/Weapons

Carries a sturdy steel mace, along with a bow for ranged combat. She wears light armor, usually whatever she can get ahold of until it wears out, and has tattoos displaying symbols associated with her dark elf heritage.

Goals/Motivations

To find a sense of purpose and belonging beyond just survival. To confront the demons of her past. To make a lasting connection with someone and not lose them, as everyone she has ever loved has died.

Personality Traits

Tough, independent, guarded, principled, compassionate (once trust is earned), loyal, a bit brash, sarcastic, witty.

Strengths

Skilled fighter and thief, stealthy, resourceful, resilient, strong-willed, quick thinker.

Weaknesses

Stubborn, distrusting, can be reckless when provoked, struggles with vulnerability and opening up to others.

Additional Notes

Lyra is a complex character who carries the weight of her past with her. While she may initially come off as abrasive or distant, she harbors a deep sense of empathy and compassion beneath her tough exterior. As she forms connections with others and learns to trust, she may reveal layers of vulnerability and warmth that few get to see.

Backstory:
Finrod Morningstar, born in Skywatch, Summerset Isles, in 4E 140, was a skilled High Elf mage conscripted into the Aldmeri Dominion during the Great War (4E 171-175). His skills in Alteration, Destruction, and Restoration magic made him a formidable force on the battlefield.

However, the brutality of the conflict and the Thalmor's oppressive policies left Finrod disillusioned. Witnessing the suffering inflicted upon others in the name of Elven supremacy, he grew to become disgusted with the Dominion's methods. The war's end in 4E 175 marked a turning point, and Finrod chose not to return to Summerset.

Rejecting Thalmor ideologies, he sought refuge in Skyrim, particularly Whiterun, to distance himself from the Dominion's influence. The local tavern, The Bannered Mare, became his sanctuary, a place to share tales and drown sorrows. As a mercenary, Finrod, now independent of Thalmor allegiance, used his magical expertise to navigate the diverse landscapes of Skyrim, forging bonds with those who shared his disdain for injustice and oppression.

Finrod Morningstar, a High Elf from Skywatch, now resides in Whiterun. Battling the ghosts of the Great War, his eyes reflect a past of conflict and sacrifice. Wielding Elven magic, he seeks redemption in Skyrim, attempting to escape the shadows of a Thalmor-tainted past. The tavern's dim corners and the city's ancient stones now bear witness to his journey of self-discovery and healing.
