DarkRecon The sword that smites evil

Haven't been back to RP Guild in awhile so I ain't sure if "hosting" anything while I'm rusty is a good idea.

Add to the fact that I ain't too familiar with the above mentioned idea's crossing but I know the general idea behind both of them.

Still, would any be interested in doing an original world based on these two mediums?

How do you imagine a combination between these two going? I'm pretty familiar with RWBY and I've played Monster Hunter: World at least. There are similarities between the two, with the giant transforming weapons and the big monsters, but in a lot of other ways their pretty different; particularly in tone.

In RWBY, humanity has been corralled into a small number of defensible locations by an endless time of soulless creatures whose sole purpose is to kill humans and destroy their creations; the Grimm are drawn to negative emotions and people are terrified of them.

In Monster Hunter, humanity is thriving. The monsters aren't monsters at all, they are just large animals which people gleefully study, hunt and then make hats out of. There are a few that are more intimidating, but even something like an Elder Dragon isn't really treated as a major threat beyond "Hmm, might disrupt the local ecosystem. Better go kill it". I haven't finished Iceborne yet though; maybe the really end game stuff is different.

Basically, what kind of world do you want to make from these two? Which elements are you planning on borrowing and which side does it lean more towards?

Well a combo of the two. For one, said world had developed with technology but there is magic too though said magic's are most likely going to be Semblances I believe the term is called or at least the more unique spells.

The civilization itself is similar to Remnant. Some cities walled off. Some villages outside of it though like Monster Hunter, a "Guild" system is in place to handle monsters that become either too dangerous, attacking a city of any kind or ordered to basically by the guild. However, some monsters that draw attention are ones that can use "Aura" so some monsters have evolved to that point as well. Sort of did that so they stand a chance since I think any Hunter/Huntress from Remnant with abilities and their weapon would stomp a MH monster.

But the GRIMM...they're actually a rarity. In the past, they WERE numerous to the point where two world wars were fought though it was because the monsters that had auras and the GRIMM themselves were having massive "turf wars" to use a MH term. So humanity plus any other races were merely just trying to survive since they were all caught up in it.

The RP starts years (don't know how many yet) after the second war. The GRIMM have thought to have been wiped or at least weakened but when monsters have been reported in multiple areas and in great numbers to have auras, The Guild fears that it's in response to the GRIMM like in the past.

I have to REALLY iron this out though @King Cosmos but that's the general idea. That and I think the idea has been done before or at least I think it has. But it's basically RWBY but using some Monsters from the MH series here and there.
