Light obscured by the shadows...

The Priestess' faith had never been challenged before until this cold and dark night. The chill of the evening was unexpectedly strong in the King's Landing, prompting Ranna to reach for the Lord of Light. Her heart was stirring with eerie unrest. Ever since Lord Baratheon had conquered the Iron Throne and killed all of the Targaryen descendants, the Priestess felt as if something was not quite right. But why? Lord of Light had several times showed her glimpses of a mighty stag, standing amidst the fire that burned away the cold and darkness, melting the ice and bringing forth a new dawn. She came all the way from Asshai to lead Lord Baratheon to his victory, so he could face the Long Night with the blessings of Lord of Light and the High Priestess at his side, ever the stag's loyal companion.

But something was not right... This time, the flames had showed her the same stag, with magnificent horns that spread across the horizon, like a sudden wave of darkness, flapping in the air like wings. The body of a stag now grew in size, colossal maw opening as the bright light came like a merciless tide towards Ranna.

She could not stop shaking. Did the Lord deceive her? Why would he show her the stag and then present her the image of a dragon?

She knew... There was no point in questioning it. The one to end the Long Night would be none other than a Targaryen. To revive their flames and watch them soar to the sky like they have done so for centuries.

R'hllor would not have shown her the dragon if all Targaryens were truly dead.

Despite her incredible loyalty that bloomed into love from Lord Baratheon's side towards Ranna, she would pack her things in the dead of night and leave the Kings Landing, just like she had left Asshai - to seek Azor Ahai, the hero that will lead the world to its salvation and into the Light, away from the ever approaching Long Night... Despite the fact that she knew she would not be welcome, for she was why the Targaryen bloodline was almost successfully cut forever.

The story will definitely tackle the next points:

  • Enemies to lovers trope, Ranna had been one the reasons why his family is now dead, which means that she will definitely need to work hard for his trust... It does help that she is hot, though :p
  • The faceclaim that I liked, I'm sticking to the description from the books, everything red, including the eyes.
  • I have a plan for a dragon egg, I am not spoiling that part, so I got that covered (although I am definitely happy to hear some ideas of your own and I end up doing something with it too!)
  • Romance here is gonna be deep, the odds outside of their goals will not be in their favor, especially considering that she is nothing but a Red Priestess, while she never had her heart involve itself with her mission, this is where Ranna will start to feel the deep affection for YC and I would hope YC's emotions for her in return, whether or not he's ready to make it known for her.
  • I don't have any specific directions of the story, besides the fact that Ranna will first need to earn his trust and then progressively work with YC in gaining his power back, while everyone thinks that Targaryens no longer exist, while also facing Baratheon that Ranna just abandoned without saying a word to him. And also Baratheon being the man that slayed YC's family.
