Thanks for stopping in ^^ I had a really generic idea for this setting a while ago, worked on it for some time as an RPG setting, then realized how much fun it would be as a 1x1 story. Dahlia in Bloom is a reference only because it could be similar, but it's more a vibe reference than anything. Think of a young artisan making a name in a busy city, who suddenly crosses paths with someone that can support them and help them chase their dreams. There's room for as much or as little drama, world building, slow burn romance, and magical creation as you could want.
I could play either side of these sample pairings, though generally playing M in MxF (I've written for F and MxM before, if you're convincing I would not be opposed). I'm using a generic 'Artisan' here, which could be any kind of person doing crafting or otherwise participating in the bustling trades in the town. Usually, I'll write in a few side characters to help with the story as well. I've never doubled, but everything's worth trying once.
Noble x Artisan - A creation catches the eye of a Noble, and now they can't help but want to see more
Adventurer/Soldier x Artisan - Every artisan needs materials for their work, and the adventurers of the town are happy to help gather or escort them to where they need to be
Artisan x Artisan - Struggling artists relying on each other, a tale still being told today. Fighting through frustrations, dealing with successes and maybe even feeding each other work. They could be competitors, or one might already be successful while the other is struggling. Plenty of ways for this to shake out.
