History: For centuries the Black Family has controlled many businesses and corporations throughout England as well as participating in many activities within the black market. They are know to be one of the most influential families in the country.
Sophia Haynes, the youngest daughter of another powerful noble family, was engaged as a child to Calvin Black, the next air to the Black Family after his father. Despite the hours they spent with one another in their early years, neither were able to develop any affections towards the other. A year before they were to be married, Sophia fell deeply in love with a traveling merchant. Their passion for one another was to be kept a secrete, for if Sophia's parents were to discover it, they would be enraged. The couple, however, knew that their time together was limited. The merchant would never be able to take Sophia as his bride due to his employment and her roots in England. He gave her his final goodbye a week before her marriage to Calvin before leaving on a ship to the Bermudas. However, he did not leave Sophia alone. Inside her laid a baby girl, a secret she would be forced to keep from Calvin for years to come.
It was Calvin who choose for her the name Evelyn, after his late aunt. When Evelyn was born, no doubts existed that she wasn't the daughter of Calvin.
Evelyn lived a very sheltered life inside the Black manor. Her father was constantly busy with business matters and her mother could never bring herself to grow close to her child, in fear that she would her one day. She was left to be raised by a series of nannies as well as the manor's staff.
When Evelyn turned thirteen, Sophia was diagnosed with a mysterious disease. No one could of expected her to fall ill so fast, and dark spell befell the manor as Sophia grew worse with everyday. Imprisoned to her bed, Sophia was in need of constant care, leaving most of her belongings unattended. One day Calvin was sort through various boxes in Sophia's room during a monthly clean-up when he happened upon a pile of letters sent to Sophia during the span of their marriage. He was dumbfounded by how these letters had been kept from him throughout the years and he was quick to tear through them. With a quick glance at their contents, he was able to identify them as love letters sent by past lover of Sophia, many of which mentioned a baby. Outraged at his ignorance,
