Elder Scrolls Online RPing

Heya RPGuild,

From what I have heard, the Megaserver from the Elder Scrolls Online would support roleplaying. Based on the experience from the Beta sessions, this would mean that people that tagged their settings as 'roleplay' would be placed together in the same areas.

So just out of curiosity, I am asking here whether there are people that have TESO AND would roleplay within it.

Planning on both, although I'm not sure quite yet just how intensely I'm gonna do the roleplaying aspect (that ended really poorly for me in SW:TOR, and I wanna get a feel for the ESO atmosphere before I invest too much into a character).

But on the whole yes, I'm on the preorder and I'm planning on taking a swing at RP at the very least. During the beta I rolled a super-fat argonian healer named "Steps Loudly," which I'm probably gonna do again, because it's funny as hell.

Steps Loudly sounds familiar... Have we met in a beta session? I was either an Argonian warrior called "Zisc'Al Kirr" or a female Dark Elf healer called Larquedia.

I am aware that RPing on a MMO is troublesome at times, mostly because of the swarms of ERP that I heard from. Goldshire was not renamed into P***shire for no reason >_>

Of course, if all works out like I think it will, then RPing on eso will be quite entertaining. I will keep doing the healer class or attempt to get a real tank running this time. Either way, I will enjoy my time on eso.

I made a lot of noise (snicker) on area chat, so you may have caught me cracking jokes or some such. I don't think I partied-up at any point though, so we probably didn't hang out.

I'm planning on four characters right off the start (partly just to make sure I can get the names I want). I'll have a nightblade healer (Steps Loudly), a dragonknight wizard, a sorcerer tank, and a templarcher (if I can get it, Shere Khan, the tiger from Jungle Book, is sort of an inspirational villain for me, and this would probably be khajit).

Probably won't RP with **all** of them, but I can't resist slipping into character at least SOME of the time. I might have one or two designated for pure gaming, though. Not sure. Like I said I kinda wanna see how everything works before I really commit to like a full backstory or whatever.

I'm currently on the fence over TESO currently but if I did get it (I may yet) I would definitely roleplay. I've been an Elder Scrolls fan for a long time and have a good grasp of the lore; So I would roleplay my little Dunmer heart out.

Yea, it's more of a fascist concept. Then again I enjoy being an asshole in games just because I can xD.

This is the first Aldmeri Dominion. The one in Skyrim is the 2nd, which is the one that's full of asshats and religious oppression. Keep in mind this takes place like 1000 years before Skyrim.

Unfortunately, it appears that the majority of responses over here are doing an Aldmeri Dominion character. Sorry, but this is unacceptable for me. There is no superior race, only a race that is dumber on social terms than others, and the Aldmeri never had any great social qualities. Heck, even in Morrowind they were scum. The first time I met an Aldmeri in Morrowind was going like "Be gone, vile spawn!". This has not changed once within the Elder Scrolls series, unless you were playing Aldmeri yourself, but even then, the NPCs were like "Nice magic, but I can do WAY better." Just hate those pompous bastards.

Sorry, but I keep venturing inside the Ebonheart or check out the Daggerfall regions. I might post my character names over here, once I have gotten back into the game.

*Altmer

The Aldmer were the O.G. mer, which the altmer claim direct descendence from and thus their alleged racial purity. The Aldmeri Dominion is pretty much a call back to the Aldmer's former reign, even though the aldmer no longer exist.

Besides, it's not all about being a high elf. Khajiit's where it's at.
