so that could be like the city the Knight is from. The mage was born in more of a forest like city that teaches more about magic and nature, allowing oneself to become very hard to spot and fast runner. The town is not as developed as the rest of this world and the knight is sent to ask the person in charge that the town be more developed. thats when the mage comes in and shows him that yes they are not as developed. The thing though is that the magic around the city is stronger then technology's effect on it.
The Mage's home city
It has magic running through the streets, mythical creatures from all around are like guards, there are more magic users here then anywhere else because the place is so safe and well hidden.
