Username: ERode
Name: Aelitha VeloneAge: 17
Gender: Female
Birthday: April 1st
Class: Troubadour
Allied To: Whomever she wishes to travel with.
Weapons: A Troubadour for hire who likes to stay versatile, Aelitha carries four different staves with her: Mend, Fortify, Speed, and Balmwood. Three different types of healing staves as well as a utility staff for the sole sake of increasing the speed of either herself or others. It works with her reputation as being one of the fastest clerics, if nothing else. Healz on wheelz, essentially.
Description: A petite person at 5'4, Aelitha is a person who one would not believe to be a traveling healer-for-hire, one that regularly frequented battles for the shine of a coin. Her complexion is naturally pale and her blond hair and blue eyes make her out to be the daughter of nobles, a fair maiden dressed in white and blue. However, her long hair is usually unkempt and unwashed, while her blue eyes are murky and empty, devoid of any child-like light. Her hands are callused from handling staves, fingernails kept short through constant biting. Aelitha, despite her young age, despite her child-life appearance, despite her noble semblance...
...is ultimately a whimsical girl, one who has seen enough death and despair that she no longer thinks too heavily about such things. A mercenary working alone, she's prone to speaking to herself, vocalizing her thoughts whenever she's not on the job. Despite her lone wolf nature though, she's a dependable leader if it came down to it, having had many chances to sponge up the strategies and tactics of other leaders that she had worked under. Combine that with an increasingly potent woman's intuition, and Aelitha has the potential of being a rather capable second-in-command...but only when she feels like it. She derives pleasure from watching plans come together, and likes to spend her money on quirky accessories or specialty foods, even though Aelitha has no actual experience with fashion and fine meals. Independent, there's nothing to hold her down. Resolute, she makes her decisions and then sees it through. Selfish, anything she does should benefit her in some way.
There's only one thing that she follows. A single sentence that she says from time to time.
“Even if the captain is evil, doesn't mean their soldiers are.”
Biography: The only daughter of Alier Velone and Lacie Burrows, two merchants running a rather popular grocery shop in a town in Rosanne. Helping out with menial tasks ever since she became old enough to walk, Aelitha became a rather responsible person rather early. She learned how to cook alongside her mother when she was seven, and by the time she was nine, she had already started to run her shop herself. While she was still uneducated, as most female commoners were, Aelitha's work ethic was enough to get her noticed by the town's healer, and thus, she became that man's apprentice. Her little brother was going to be born soon, and the family would benefit from extra income. With those thoughts in mind, Aelitha strove towards the path of being a healer, learning the ways of the staff.
In three years, at the age of 12, the young girl had become a healer with potent enough abilities that she could begin working along. Yet at the same time, with these powers, she was at the stage of life where she wanted to do more. Adolescence was an interesting period of life, after all. After 12 years of obediently living with her parents and doing what she was told, Aelitha was finally wondering what she wanted to do with her own life. For that, she had thought about it for a long time. Thought about the consequences, the reactions, the sustainability, the future. And finally, it was not herself who took the first step, but her father, Alier Velone, who asked her what she wanted to do with her life.
Though she did not know it at the time, she was following his footsteps. Though she inherited her appearance from her mother, Aelitha had inherited her father's wanderlust.
The horse had already been prepared for her, a gentle mare accustom to travelling long distances. New staves were already purchased, wrapped up in a neat bundle. Her family had already set aside money for that day.
When she was thirteen, having learned to read maps, ride horses, and set up game traps, the girl said good bye to her parents and left her nest.
Four memorable, hard, tragic, funny, nostalgic years passed as she travelled the world, offering her services to anyone who would have her. Now, she was in the theocratic kingdom of Plegia, a Troubadour for hire.
Quirks: Aelitha has an interesting habit of scouring the fields of battle after victory had been achieved, looking for injured soldiers who had been abandoned by their allies so she could nurse them back to health and send them running off on their way. A habit that has gotten her in trouble more than once in her career.
