[OOC] T1- Training thread usable by all.

This is a training thread for people to learn the ins and outs of T1 before joining the Nexus of World Multiverse.

Alright Nightrunner in T1 the first thing to do is set a stance. A stance will describe the character, the environment and to some degree their mental and physical preparedness for combat. However in the stance or first post of a fight neither side is prepping for combat as this is simply the introduction to the character.

Each writer is allowed to have a stance post then the process goes forward on a post by post basis for prepping attacks, attacks, defenses and counters. Ultimately resulting in a hit by one or both opponents. Usually this is written in a semi-closed post where each side unleashing an attack will post what they expect to happen if the hit occurs. If the opponent accepts the hit they can mitigate the damage through movement or defenses but not entirely.

So I will post an opening stance post then you will.

Understood. But, what does T1 mean?

For those new to the form of T1, it is a common logic way of text fighting. Even though it is based off the imagination, logic in life still exists within the T1. Respect, Honor, and Trust are all key points needed to have a clean fun form of competition amongst one on one, or multiples against one. Order and communication is most important when dealing the starting posts in the T1.

T1 is a multi-style way of fighting that has been in RP a very long time. T1 is the first style of text combat that was accepted across a multitude of text role-playing sites back in the late 1990's and early part of this century that a player could learn and take to another site and expect it to be recognized with very little modifications. Where as up to that point there had been a slew of competing and often very convoluted styles that did not translate well when carried from site to site. Hence T1 is Type 1.

Yes. It is fine. Remember arena based rps tell the story through conflict with another player. While it is collaborative it is important to remember that distinction between it and "normal" rps.

Now Night if you read the post carefully I have done a few things. Closed our distance but gave no clear distance leaving it open. Attacked you indirectly with the environment while retaining and adding a prep. Avoided your attack. And finally surrounded myself with your friends.

Sorry for my late response. I been busy and my attention has been divided. But I do have a couple questions about this, Skalla.

1. Are the commands over 'zero-level' characters like Mike's friends literally limited to 'Attack' or 'Defend Me?'

2. Is describing the distance between them something okay for me to do?

Yes, NPCs are literally limited to just Attack him. They can attack but no definitive place. I believe.
