"Small birds flap overhead in the midday sun. Summer has begun, you can almost feel it in your core. The wind caresses your face and the birds chatter carelessly as you make your way to the tavern. You finally reach the place - beautiful in it's own special way. You push open the wooden door and are greeted by the other townsfolk, some of them your close friends, and others kindly neighbors. You momentarily reflect on how lucky you were to have ended up here in Erihurst."
Who Are You?
Character Name:
Race:
Age:
Likes:
Dislikes:
Role: [are you a farmer? Maybe you're a fisherman, or you own the local cafe]
Bio: [can be however long or short you feel it needs to be]
Appearance: [written preferred, pictures acceptable. No links please]
Races:
Elves: beings that are attuned to the natural world. They can speak to/understand plants and animals emotions. They are born healers, calling upon the natural elements to heal others, however it as a very strenuous task.

Faeries: slightly smaller than the average human, these beings have translucent wings. They can fly, but only for short distances before getting tired. They have control of the elements. Each faerie is born with power over one of the natural elements: water, wind, seed (any plant grown up from earth), or fire. This gives them the ability to direct currents, calm storms, coax crops into growing sooner, or stop the spread of fire, however these are just examples of the many uses of their abilities.

Imps: very small humanoid creatures. They float mysteriously in the air, rarely ever putting their legs to use. They often possess visible traits of animals as well as mental and physical traits. Some of the more common impish types are wolf, lynx, reptile, and dasyurids. Imps are easily spotted by their tails and ears, and sometimes muzzles as well. Long ago, imps were enslaved. Today, they are free and equal to any other race. Imps are instinctively good at perceiving human emotions - even when they are trying to hide them. Imps make good friends, though sometimes they can use their abilities to be mischievous, though this still only usually results in people confessing their love, conflicts being solved between rivals, and general honesty in people.

Human: Does this really need an explanation?
Opening Plot:
The village of Erihurst has sat on the same lands for hundreds of years. For as small as it is, it's a wonder that the place still exists. Recently someone from the city has moved into town, causing unrest among the villagers. Why has this stranger moved here? What do they want? It's up to the people of Erihurst to find out. [whoever wants to play the role of the newcomer may, but it is first come, first serve.]

Rules:

1.) Absolutely no sexual content. Romance is acceptable, but the line is drawn at cuddling.

2.) If you plan to kill your character off you must post about it in the OOC much in advance. The OOC is a vital part of this game and should be checked often.

3.) Characters: Everybody gets one (unless I say otherwise)

4.) Respect each other! Even if your characters aren't the best of friends, remember - their character is not them!

5.) There is a turn order for posting. If you do not follow it, you risk being removed from the game (order below)

6.) What the GMs say, goes. I will not give someone a GM title if they do not deserve it.

7.) Don't join this roleplay if you aren't interested in a long ride. This game is expected to take many turns and reflect many different genres.

8.) Do not be afraid to talk to your fellow roleplayers! If you want something big to happen, feel free to talk about it here in the OOC and plan it with the other players. This game will only be truly successful if you all cooperate.

9.) Put "llama" at the bottom of your profile post so that we know you read the rules. If your profile is accepted, a GM will post with "[username]'s profile has been accepted."

10.) If you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you ASAP. As head GM, I reserve the right to change or update the rules at any time. If the rules are changed, I will announce it.
Despite how it sounds, the turn order is very simple.
Turn Order:
- Each person must post once before someone may post again.
- If someone fails to posts within two days of the previous post they will be skipped and will have to wait until the first poster has posted again.
- If you wish for your turn to be skipped, you must say so in the OOC
- If the first poster wishes to be skipped, they most post in-game with only "[pass]"

Example:
Everyone has posted except for Mary-Sue. The last post was made by John on a Tuesday, so if Mary-Sue does not post by Friday her turn will be skipped.

[please note that this is something new I am implementing into the game, and that I've never seen it used before. There may be flaws. If you think you have came across a flaw. PM me.]

Game Moderators - GMs

A GM is someone who oversees the game and makes sure that everything is running smoothly. GMs enforce the rules and have the ability to accept someone into the game, as well as remove them. If a GM approaches you over an issue, be calm and respectful, they are only here to keep the peace.

Someone may be given a GM title if they are well behaved, active, and follow all of the rules. If you ask for a GM title, it will not be given.
Head GM - AxeEcliptica

Rules of A GM

1.) A GM is not above the rules, if you see a GM breaking the rules, please report it to the Head GM through PM.

2.) All GMs answer to the Head GM. A GM's title can be taken away at any time.

3.) Only the Head GM can allow players to have more than one character.

Hi there~ don't be nervous. All I ask for this roleplay is that you be able to check back pretty much daily, and that you post 2 quality paragraphs each time you post. But this thread isn't quite open yet, so if you want to really get in and know what's going on, I'd like to direct you to the interest check thread:

Would you mind if I played the role of the newcomer? That'd be great!
I'm still here, sorry for my laziness in posts. I just got home from college and it's been a whirlwind of unpacking, had to attend two weddings, Mother's Day, seeing friends, etc. But I'm still here and committed! ^u^

oooo I have a question. Should their be a little tag on who the character should have a rival and crush on? Just asking, haha, I was playing Harvest Moon today and that just kind of hit me.

Thespian, I think it would be best that players didn't feel the pressure to determine such things right away, but you are free to add "updates" to your character's status anytime here in the OOC. Something like...:

Character Update : Nienna
-distrust towards [insert character]
-friendly towards [insert character]

Oh of course not right at this moment haha xD
But yes! Just asking, I didn't know if you wanted to do something like that. Or if that was allowed.

Well, thank you for asking. This roleplay depends on the players being able to talk to each other.

Okay, got my CS for the Newcomer made. It's a bit slim, but I'll be updating it over time as new information emerges in the plot.

Character Name: Full name unknown, known only as “Ianthe”
Race: Human
Age: 20
Likes: Unknown
Dislikes: Unknown
Role: Newcomer
Bio: Little to nothing is known about Ianthe’s past, save for the fact that he came from the city. He speaks in a manner indicative of highborn conditioning, which is betrayed by his manner of dress.
Appearance: Ianthe dresses in a simple, country style: warm earth tones, loose trousers tucked into knee high boots, vest, billowing shirt sleeves. He wears a pendant at his throat. Ianthe is slender and lithe, though with well-developed musculature and solid shoulders, suggesting military training or at least passing familiarity with the martial arts. He is handsome, and young, with a strong jaw, curling raven black hair, a strong nose, slightly tanned complexion, and eyes the color of light hazelnut.

Hope everything checks out!

I haven't read the entire Interest Check but this seems pretty cool. I love Harvest Moon. The setting you described reminds me of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. I'll make a CS but before I do I wanted to say this. This is my first "advanced RP." The fact is that I have been doing free and casual for awhile and noticed that most of my posts are longer than those around me, not to mention much of the posts on those don't have any real depth to them, they just spend days flirting and making a big deal out of the most uninteresting events. Before I make a CS, can I ask is this going to be like that?

Firstly, welcome! And to answer your question: I sure hope not. The idea for this roleplay is that the players come together here in the OOC and plan out what kind of event they want to take hold of the story next. This roleplay is going to... Evolve? No... Sway, yes, this roleplay is going to sway between genres and story arcs. I hope to keep it going for as long as I can, but it's up to everyone to communicate if this is going to progress the way I'd like it to.

I would also like to say that as far as the fact that we are classified as advanced, it more or less just means I want you to be able to check back often and post more than a single paragraph of only 3 lines. Sadly, this is what it comes down to when I see that casual roleplays usually die in a couple days and are composed of small wannabe paragraphs.

Sorry, I went on a tangent there >w<' I hope I answered all of your questions.

Character Name: Tareon Lightfoot

Race: Elf

Age: 21

Likes: Archery, Fishing, Reading and Gardening

Dislikes: Loud Noises

Role: Fisherman/Fish Seller (I'm going to suggest that fish are to "stupid" for elves to read the minds and emotions of, if that is ok...otherwise this would be a very terribly and demented job for an elf.)

Bio: Tareon grew up in the forest, his father taught him how to shoot a bow. One day a group of barbarians destroyed the elvish village, killing almost everyone. Tareon was spared because he was a child and hid. The only possessions he had afterwards were his bow and arrows. He spent his time learning to bow fish and became good enough that he could fend for himself before exploring the forest and finding the village of Erihurst. He found that he could settle in the little town and make a living selling the fish he caught. After a few years an old man saw his occupation and suggested he learn to "Catch fish, rather than kill them" and he took up fishing with a rod. He now sells fish for both food and pets and lives a more quiet and peaceful life than he did in the elvish village in the woods.

Appearance: Tareon had dark hair, an unusual trait for an elf, but he loved it because it helped him blend with the wood when he needed to hide, unlike the blonde elves who often had to wear hoods to cover up their hair in the forest. He often wore a tunic with a hood, but only put the hood up in the night or if he needed to hide. He wore a belt and quiver both full of fishing hooks, knives, and arrows and boots. Unlike most elves, he preferred a darker green clothes rather than the leaf/kelly usual green. Again, this was for camo purposes. He didn't need to hide often, but when he did, he did it well.
