Sorry if I kept you waiting. I'm on fairly often, but not for extended periods of time. Before we begin collaboration I want to make a quick post detailing Clotho's new creature. I'll get that done after work today, and after that we can start.

As I'm looking through the compendium, I'm making matchups in my head. Things like, whose level-one creature would come out on top, ect. I feel like Viktor's ogres would be at a stalemate with Clotho's Myrmidons, offense versus defense, the ogres capable of taking spear thrusts and shield bashes easily but unable to really get anything substantial in return. Cavartem's Walkers, I feel, would triumph over the Pain Elementals by two virtues: I doubt they care much for any sort of pain and their dead, unfeeling forms could hold out fairly well against the PEs' death explosions. The virtue of flight alone makes the Angels trump most of our other level-ones, all but the PEs, really, though Myrmidon spears and shields might be able to withstand an aerial assault depending on what weapons the Angels are using. Right now I feel as if Xir'Ain's Eels have the short straw, but the Runners make up for it. As far as secondary creatures go, the Runners, well, run circles around the Antlions, though I feel that Viktor's skeletons would make an ample challenge for either of them. The Skeletons have the range on both parties, able to keep out of tailblade-range of the Runners and poke at the Antlions' soft spots while avoiding their thrashing around.

When we eventually exchange blows its going to be fun.

Kangutso, I suppose I'm ready to begin when you are. Send the PM?

Wow, overall it seems no Keeper has more advantageous forces over the others. No I'm wanting to do match-ups in my head.

And sure, I'll start it off.

I can say with reasonable certainty that if Cyclone and DA keep on their current paths (being more magically focused) Viktors army of pure physical might will have quite some trouble. (Supposing I can ever get out of the gorram tundra.)

Also, in my next few posts, I plan on writing up a rather lengthy bit of lore and description for Alterax. Would there be any problem with that?

Just an idea, maybe make a magic wielding minion that only casts defensive spells? Weak ones, but they would still help with survivability against magic.

Clotho's smart enough to plan ahead. Well, either her or the being that empowered her. Regardless, her general plan is to ultimately crate and wield a magic nullification venom, which temporarily locks down all magical abilities of the victim in the same was a snake's venom locks down the nervous system. Of course, Clotho's forces don't have that respect, so they'll continue being weak to magic for some time.

And I can see how that would take a while to make as well. So you make other types of venoms with different effect. Example: That growth venom you just produced. To me she seems like the type to plan for future possibilities and events, like chess. Something I like about her.

EDIT: I sent the PM.

Exactly so. I envision using the growth serum to help in making future constructs, for example, in a more controlled and useful way than the fashion in which she made Scutra. An aspect of her character I'm going for is to be all wrathful-bloodthirsty-conqueror on the outside, but be a strategic on the inside. Sort of a blend between Nona and...well, I won't get into the specifics.

Really I'm liking the way everyone is going so far. Just because I'm gabbing the most about what I'm doing doesn't mean I'm undervaluing y'alls' developments, I hope.

Xir'ain's eels are weak? Not when the ground beneath your feel crumbles away and you fall into a bottomless abyss of black water that's filled with thousands of hungry mouths all craving a taste of you. They're supposed to be like piranhas, ripping apart anything that falls into the water of Xir'ain's dungeon. I like to think of them as janitors but with more teeth.

Edit: And oh yeah, all my disappearances are mostly me dealing with ongoing internet troubles. I can think of a few choice places where Comcast can shove their modem.

True, on their home territory and in shoals they would be an absolute menace. Few to no other creatures could take them on underwater and hope to survive. Glad you're back.

Welcome Kangutso. We're glad to have more people here. I am keen to see what you have planned.

Dawnon, if you want better Compendium entries you can write them yourself.

We're going to have to split our collab into two parts, as it is getting a bit lengthy.

So since the sun is the source of any and all magic, how does it turning red affect the entire magic system of the planet?

Well, I'm back from a two day trip. Looking back I see that I forgot to tell you all about that, but fortunately it seems that things picked up and I wasn't missed.

As in for the discussion about creatures, I agree that the Walkers have my pain elementals beat, although you did forget one thing: since they're usually just little balls of light, the pain elementals have limited flight capabilities. But in any case, I wanted them to be weak since Shaige himself is rather OP at the moment. I'm trying not to repeat last roleplay with Gorsik's grotesquely overpowered level one golems and a bunch of puny tier-two rock flayers and tier-three hobgoblins.

Also, in my next few posts, I plan on writing up a rather lengthy bit of lore and description for Alterax. Would there be any problem with that?

Nope. Go ahead. I had a little something planned for the people in the tundra immediately north of Paterdomus, but we can keep them separate and just say that they're isolated from Altearx.

So since the sun is the source of any and all magic, how does it turning red affect the entire magic system of the planet?

The red color reflects the Ripper's destructive magic. For now magic down on Elysium won't be affected much, but you can rest assured that what's going on over there with the Ripper, Carver, and Zadok will soon start to have an effect on the planet.

Edit: Dr Trapezoid, since Shaige is just sitting outside Paterdomus watching what's about to happen, I was going to wait for you to post as Ifrit. Were you waiting on me as well? I suppose I could control the humans amassed outside if you want me to. They could see the red sun, interpret it as a sign from their fire god, and then go crazy with religious fervor and charge to their deaths.
