You enjoy arguing too much. If not arguing, then at least defending really inane points.

MST3k, your character's age doesn't match up with the timeline. If she had been an adolescent before the outbreak, she'd be quite a bit older by now. It's been more than forty years after all.

Works for me. So was she a member of Boyd's crew that got (mostly) destroyed? Or is she one of his father's soldiers? Basically I'm asking when did Boyd recruit her, was it before or after his own group got wasted in Minnesota?

Name: Booker Perdue

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Ethnicity: English American

Occupation: Peace Keeper

Appearance: Booker is 5'10 and weighs around 200lb. Though not being very noticeably muscular he is definitely athletic and spends a lot of time keeping himself that way. The best way to describe him would probably be lean. He's certainly not a body builder but it wouldn't be accurate to call him wiry either; he's somewhere in the middle. Balanced; something like a mixed martial artist. When it comes to his attire Booker dresses practically, wearing as comfortable boots as he can find, a white t-shirt, a black zip up hoody and dark cargo pants. He keeps his often baggy pants up with a black leather belt. His handgun hangs in it's holster on his right hip whereas his trusty blade hangs off his left.

Personality Traits: Booker for the most part is a disciplined, self-assured and adventurous young man; all things that have helped him become a great Peace Keeper. At his best he is humorous, trustworthy and very caring; sometimes to the point of the latter trait being a flaw and feeding into his occasional short sightedness. Every now and then though something or a series of things will happen that just put Booker into a really crappy place. He is used to the world being the way it is, but that doesn't stop stuff from getting to him every now and then. When in a mood Booker can be a variety of useless things. From being annoying and unnecessarily aggressive or passive to being straight up reckless or obstructive. He tries to be the best he can be but sometimes shit just happens and there's nothing anyone can do to stop it; it's just gotta be ridden out.

Brief History: Booker's parents were both English college students when they came to Florida, America for a nice holiday in 2016. Both James Perdue and Olivia Black were eighteen years old and believed they were deep in love. Whether they were or not is debatable, what is not is that by the time a year passed and the shit had all hit the fan they were inseparable and undeniably in love. Whatever they already had was only made stronger by the apparent end of days. They pulled together to survive and survive they did. For nearly twenty years they travelled across America keeping to small towns and forests in order to live. It was twenty years in that Booker's mother fell pregnant; something that had actively been avoided for twenty years. They were both still fearful of raising a child in the dangerous world but finally decided that it would be worth it. Booker himself was named due to his parents habit of staying in the town library's. They loved them, there was always entertainment within reach and some books they deemed crappier to burn to keep warm. It was a habit they kept up all through Booker's childhood.

When the time came they started teaching Booker how to hunt, scavenge and regretfully, kill. They enjoyed teaching Booker the former two despite the obvious dangers involved and Booker himself loved them, despite having to be told half a dozen times that it was okay to kill animals for food. Before both activities had been forbidden, so being able to do both was made all the sweeter. Training to kill human beings and former human beings however was not enjoyed by Booker or his parents. They discussed it for a long time but eventually agreed it needed to be done. Booker rebelled against it at first, but soon picked it up. With time it became okay, he didn't like doing it but he realized the importance after a run in with bandits one day. He and his parents were nearly murdered and it was only due to him unexpectedly pulling his switch blade and stabbing a bandit that was holding onto him in the foot that they managed to overpower their attackers and live to continue their lives. After that Booker didn't rebel any more.

Finally at around the age of seventeen Booker had become strong and skilled enough to be able to take care of himself and his parents finally decided to set up home in one of the safe zones. Both of them were in their mid fifties now and had decided to settle down for their son. They didn't want him experiencing losing them in violent circumstances when there was an alternative. Both of them live in Nashville, each with far less demanding jobs than parenting in training the militia and sometimes just average residents how to better defend themselves. Booker himself became a Peace Keeper; using the skills and traits his parents had given him to do some good.

Specializes in: Hunting, Scavenging and Killing.

Weaponry:
H&K 45
Fixation Bowie

Other: Booker, believe it or not, loves books and is always on the lookout for the apparent greats his parents have told him about.
Booker himself has killed only four human beings in his life time. He is deeply against killing humans unless it is absolutely necessary.
He has a slight English accent; something he picked up from spending the majority of his life with only his parents for company.

I can dig it, Wired. Accepted.

Just one question though: Is he part of the same group as Boyd and the others? Or is he rogue/freelance?

I imagined him riding solo, but a crew would be more fun and it'd make more sense considering technically he's been a part of a three person crew his whole life. Is it okay if he's joining Boyd's squad at the start of the RP? Of course that would mean figuring a way one is considered for the placement.

Unless someone came to the stronghold and requested to join themselves, it would be one of those generic scouting situations. You know: Recruiter sees potential Peacer is capable in combat, recruiter approaches potential Peacer and asks him to join. There's no real structure to it other than that unfortunately. The Peacer guilds/strongholds are still a relatively new phenomenon.

That makes sense, cheers. :) I was thinking more along the lines of what steps Boyd Jr takes when taking people into his own click though, is he biased towards a certain kinda person? Though I guess he can't really afford to be, I don't imagine everyone in our characters generation was trained quite as highly, especially considering the vaccine and such.

Just biased towards hard assess I suppose. I had a thought though: If Booker were somewhere in the stronghold waiting to be interviewed by Boyd III (something he insists on doing before officially letting Peacers fight under his flag), and Boyd IV found out he would probably interview Booker himself simply out of spite. Could make for interesting situations later, seeing as Booker wouldn't officially be one of them even though he thinks he is, calling everything about him into question when it comes time to get paid.

That would be pretty damn fun. I'm up for it. :D So, what's Nashville like these days? Anything that needs to be known going in or can I just creative freedom away?

Aside from what's been shown in the IC, it's just a recovering city. Of course, the population has been decimated (though that's putting it lightly). People scavenging stuff, merchants roaming the streets trying to swindle folks. Businesses almost entirely trade by barter. Of course there are scattered PMC patrols and minor relief efforts. Otherwise, feel free to do as you please. If it doesn't fit, we can always tweak it.

Awesome, sounds good. My post is up; I made obtaining an interview very brief and simple as I was unsure how to go about it. Let me know if you want me to add something. :)

Just wanted to say that I've been digging you guys' posts. Any time you start an RP you've gotta worry that there will always be those that don't quite "get" the setting. But I'm glad to see you all get it and then some. Thank you.

Yeah I'll admit I've been one of those people before. Where my image of the setting is much different then how the GM imagines it. I'll throw my post up right after MST3K.

Aye, I've had that too, usually I'm okay with apocalyptic settings though. Damn, I can't wait to start going out on missions and such. :D oh, another thing I meant to ask, how common are vehicles and fuel?

Vehicles are common. Operational ones, not very. People to make non-operational vehicles operational, even less so. Basically if it's not a PMC vehicle, or an armored Mad Max type of rig, it gets destroyed by raiders if you leave the safe zones. The Peacers have their own motor pool of lightly armored stuff, though they're kind of unreliable.mechanically speaking. I figure at some point we can get our own (be it communal or personal) vehicle and start armoring/arming them/it. Smithing is kind of a revived art now, so finding someone to fabricate armor pieces is easy. It's just finding a trustworthy, knowledgeable auto mechanic that's difficult.

With that said, PMC/Government engineer types charge a lot to work on personal vehicles. I can't realistically see someone coming in with a mechanic character who is above average, seeing as 40+ years hiding from the undead made things like that almost a lost art. Everything learned would have to be mostly by word of mouth.

Awesome. Sounds very interesting. :D It would be very cool to get our own vehicle a little later on, and very sad when/if it ends up getting destroyed on a mission.
