When this all began on the old site it was a bit of a slower paced RP, something I think a lot of people liked since we all had pretty hectic schedules. What would you say LJ, Scout, Night, Orion, and Zeph, it was about a post a week per player once the IC started if I remember right. I also remember the OOC being filled with us all creating character relationships and world info. The relationships cannot come until LJ makes her final cast choices but some of that world info is open for input. If any of our newcomers want to get into the collaborative world building aspect of this story (as I have with the Red Seminary info and the Omestri info) I would be more than willing to help you navigate all the info that has been established already.

One of the biggest things (I think) that shape this world is the absence of fire. Since the fire titan was killed that element has been eliminated from the "natural order" and the word fire has become something heretical and unknown. Instead ether has taken over as a whole new power. I think that is the most important thing LJ has done is replace fire with ether, something that drives everything and is in everyone. Role playing that out can open a lot of opportunities for creative thinking.

Another neat thing is the character dynamic of the inquisitors. Our characters are, of course, powerful, talented, and skilled far beyond the average soldier but as inquisitors we are all fresh from training and all very young at 22 or less. I mean the human brain is not even completely developed until 25+ so how does all that skill mesh with newly ordained people that are just breaking out of adolescence into young adult-hood. I always believed (and stuck around) because LJ created an environment that focused on the characters and not just wielding power.

Just some food for thought, trying to share what I can from the olden days so everyone has the best ideas going into this.

Sorry for the delay guys! Was a bit caught up watching Game of Thrones with a house full of people. Alright, let's finally get this thing moving!

So, when I restarted this RP, I was honestly expecting a larger number of people to submit characters and was planning on having to go through each of the new characters with a fine-toothed comb to see if they'd fit in with the existing lot. Though we did end up with fewer new character submissions than I expected, I nevertheless applied the same standard of review. That being the case, I've decided to except two of the three new submissions.

Hank, and Hansa, welcome aboard! I really do think your characters will fit right in and I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of storylines you guys can create with us :). Joos, if you can go back and create your character's Background section, I'll happily reconsider your character.

Now, on to some slight edits I think some of you guys should make to your characters (just to have them fit better with the existing lore).

Hank, as Avery said, the element of fire has been extinguished from the world, this means that your character can't have the ethereal ability of summoning it. You'll have to choose something else for Xenophon's ethereal abilities. I know that you tied his disfigurement to his ethereal magic, so you're going to have to come up with another story behind his tragic accident. It could still have happened as a result of an accident with his ether, but it just can't be *fire* as we all know it, as it just doesn't exist in this world.

The last thing I think everyone should put into their character sheets, both old and new members alike, is a short description of your character's "Inquisitor's seal". This seal is basically your character's "emblem", a sort of unique symbolic crest that all ordained Inquisitors have. This personal symbol is used to represent individual inquisitors within the church, and most often graces a war priest's battle standard. It could be of anything, but most Inquisitors tend to use simple iconography that is immediately identifiable as their own unique seal.

So, that's about it for now. Feel free to start creating your histories. I'm going to start posting quite a lot of info in the next few days-- character profiles for some of the secondary and tertiary characters of the story, more misc info about the world, and some more information entries about things like demons and the like.

I too enjoy this new season of Game of Thrones, it is interesting to see how the television version departs from and/or adds onto the books.

On another note I will repost Motya's seal sometime today and see if I cannot retrieve the relationships sections for the old character cast so I can post that and then begin focusing on any prior relationships with the new characters.

Motya's revised seal. This takes form in an iron signet ring he wears, the clasps on his Inquisitorial cloak, and a pendant he wears around his neck.

The second image is the banner for the squad of soldiers Motya will second to be his personal squad (a continuance from the previous Motya).

I'm loving these seals! That being said, I wasn;t really expecting you guys to go all out in creating images for them. A quick description would've done just fine. Oh and Hank, sure, lightning would fit. Though, it does seem like Xenophon is an incredibly talented warrior, so maybe try to keep his ethereal abilities in check. We don't want him to be too powerful just yet. After all, he's still just a recently ordained priest.

I'll leave the lightning as a highly unpredictable and unstable power that is really only useful at point-blank range if he touches his enemy. But it'll sure as hell look cool and inspiring when he shoots a bolt of it into the sky and praises his God.

I use Photobucket, but it's a bit outdated. The best would probably be Imgur. :)

Took me a while to decide on what I was looking for, especially because... well, a wax seal-stamp isn't a complex image. As a side note, Mother Kassandra chooses to ignore any form of banner. She takes her role as an inquisitor very seriously, but she refuses to be any sort of symbol for control. She feels that it's a waste of a time to order others around when it could be done just as efficiently on her own.

For the record, my light creation of La Nostre likens it to Ancient Greece with linguistic grounds in Latin and the like. Love, if you've not any problem with it, I'd like to make a stronger background for the fall and current state of the region. Classes end with next week, so I'd work on it as soon as I could, but I know Avery worked hard on the Omestri and I'd like to give Kass' kinsmen more to work with in their history.
