I'll add more if necessary, but I feel like it would be fun to show off his personality during the RP rather than having it displayed on a CS.
Before we do start, we're going to need to plot and I'm going to need to know what your character does, where they are in life, what their goals or hobbies are, etc. So we can figure out how our characters can connect.
Maybe max was traveling somewhere and crossed paths with the doctor, thinking she was a local. After facing some sort of enemy that is either extra-terrestrial or superhuman, the two could travel together.
Maybe he could find her recently after her regeneration, and the two narrowly escape death for the first time together?
Usually when doing DW based RPs, it's best to figure out what canon episodes we'd like to redo or tweak for our current cast, before we get to make our own plot/enemies, it's best we're on the same page as far as events/exceptions you know?
Did you decide where he'd be currently? If he's a writer, does he travel a lot?
What if we started off with the master? Since when we talked in the other thread, I remember you saying something about not having the time war. Maybe the master and your Doctor could have had a rivalry at some point and he went bad at some point?
I also really liked the autons for the ninth's first episode, but I'm not really sure how we could incorporate them as well.
I think that the daleks and the cybermen should be in there as well. Maybe the daleks don't have as much of a hatred/fear for your doctor like they did for the one in the series, but still hate them nonetheless.
As for my character, he is a traveler, and I think that I should have him visiting London when he meets your Doctor.
My character likes to travel, but he usually spends like a week or so in one place before moving to a new place. Sometimes he revisits places to learn more or see some old friends, but doesn't really go back to America that often since he feels like he's seen most of it while he was growing up.
Okay, so he's American. Seems likely to start in London or someplace near it, if we wanted a more quaint sort of feeling. *nods*
To be honest, the whole Master arc with Ten never appealed to me. It sort of escalated quickly and then fell apart soon after, so I never really got the "charm" of him as a foe. Or potential ally. For autons, you were thinking Living Plastic yeah? It wouldn't be that hard to bring them into play I think, considering plastic is all around us these days.
Daleks and Cybermen are likely to come into play, though hopefully not too soon or it might turn off Max, since well, anyone ought to be scared of those killers.
As far as episodes which may be easy to start with, "End of the World" (with possible tweaking to allow the Doctor and Max not to be too separated) or "Beast Below" may work? Or even "Unquiet Dead"?
The beast below was always a favorite of mine, and I think that would be great for one of their first adventures together. The end of the world is also one that I like and I'm kind of interested to see how Max would react to meeting Cassandra. (Probably by poking her or something like that.)
Since the basic Autons look like mannequins, I was thinking that maybe Max and the Doctor could head to come place like New York (One of the larges shopping cities in the world) and the Autons would invade.
I agree with you when it comes to the Daleks and the Cybermen. I think they're a bit too much to face in the first few adventures, and I think that Max should have some time to explore the universre before facing those two races of killers.
If you want the autons to be in NYC, it might take some time for them to get there. Are you thinking this starts in 2014? Or are you thinking of something earlier slightly?
I was thinking that maybe somewhat shortly after Max meets the doctor, he would ask her if they could head to NYC a few years into the future, just to see if there is anything different.
I was thinking that maybe he could be walking through the streets and suddenly run in to her. She could be going on about how some sort of alien is after her, and as he doesn't believe her, he decides to play along for the fun of it.
I guess I'll pick the first "episode" then..."Night Terrors" or "Partners in Crime" are in the same general time setting. I'm cool with either of those.
