The god of mischief had not taken the news of Frigga's death too well, he had hoped it was some cruel joke, but somebody would have to be even crueler then he was to do such a thing, he had been sitting in his cell reading a book when one of the guards had told him. He had been quite for awhile before he had started punching the wall and losing his temper and crying.
Loki had never cried harder than that before. He didn't even care that he was hurting himself. What did it matter anybody. Sometimes Loki felt like his mother and Thor were the only one who ever truely cared about his pathetic existence, even if he had told Frigga she wasn't his mother. He regretted that now. Sure he had been rather nasty to Thor too, but there was time to apologize for that,

It was when he was let out of prison though, that Loki felt the true weight of his grief, he had stepped out of his cell and his legs had wobbles and he had almost collapsed. He knew stopping eating and beating himself up hadn't really helped. It felt like his fault that his mother was dead. If he hadn't been so stupid to mess up his life as well as every-bodies he would have been there to protect her.
Loki hated himself for being a terrible son, he walked slowly till he was escorted out, he then just ran, tears pouring down his face and straight into his bedroom, he knew Thor would come looking for him. Loki locked his door and he lay on his bed and pulled the covers over his head. He knew that he couldn't get over this on his own. But he didn't deserve his brother comfort.

Even if Thor was sad too and would understand, Loki thought he had lost right to have his brother comfort him, he also knew that part of him didn't want to feel better. He deserved to be miserable. He had ruined his family. He had only wished he saw them as family sooner. He was sure he wasn't going to be left alone. He closed his eyes and tried to get some sleep.
Loki was miserable, he was tired, being in prison had made it too hard to sleep. He ended up taking a nap, At least his door was closed. He knew if Thor came he would be woken, Thor was loud.

Over the years he had learned to express more emotions than happiness and anger with the help of a special scientist on Midgard. Love and understanding had become familiar emotions during his adventures in Midgard, but recently it was sadness that consumed him. He was sad that his brother had been locked away...and now he was sad for his mothers passing, but he kept in mind that he was still a warrior. Yes, he would grieve and feel the pain of her loss, but he was capable of moving on.

Thor knew from a young age that Loki was Frigga's favorite son. He never resented either of them for it though. After all, Loki was always thirsty for knowledge while Thor craved battle. Frigga had passed down her immense knowledge to Loki, and Odin passed down battle training to Thor. He knew Friggas death would not settle well with Loki.

Hearing that Loki had been let out of prison was the best news he had since his mother's death, and he rushed to see his brother as soon as possible. Sure, Loki had been let out, but guards stood at his brother's door still. Understanding Asgard's unease about letting his brother free so soon after the death of their queen, Thor simply nodded towards the guards and strode past them to stand at the closed door. He knocked on the door, careful to not break it down. "Brother, I hear father has given the order to set you free...come brother, let us walk." He spoke with his booming voice.

Loki heard his brothers voice and lifted his head. He didn't feel like going anywhere. He used his magic to unlock the door. He was crying and curled up on his bed. Of course Thor and his loud voice would always have to wake him. He wished Thor didn't have to be so loud sometimes. It was rather annoying.

"Come In brother," He muttered, He had a pained look in his eyes. He wasn't sure what was going to become of him without his mother. "Odin?" he spat bitterly. "Find that hard to believe. Thought would have been you, You and mother are the only ones I ever felt that cared in end, and shes gone," he was clenching his fists.
He wanted to kill the ones who had harmed his mother. He was broken and lost. He needed somebody to guide him again. But he wasn't sure Odin would and he wasn't sure if Thor was too busy.

"And let free,? I'll still be watched like a bad dog, I know there's guards outside my room, Its my fault she is dead... If I hadn't," Loki broke down badly in tears.
He felt like a wreck, his hair seemed unkempt. He didn't care anymore. He'd rather be dead, or maybe not, but he did think that sometimes. He felt like he didn't deserve happiness.

Hearing Loki's anguish made Thor's heart tremble and visibly wince behind the door. "Brother.." He began but faltered right there. He opened the door slowly, almost not wanting to come in. The sight before him made the warrior's breath catch in his throat. He stumbled clumsily over his own feet in his mad dash over to his brother. He couldn't even look Loki in the eye as he wrapped his beefy arms around his small brother gingerly, afraid he would break him even more.

"Brother.." He began his speech again, "I would have released you from your prison if I was able to...I'm so sorry. No, mother's death is in no way your fault. At best...its mine..and our father's. She died protecting her land, it was a noble death...but that doesn't cause it to hurt any less I know." He finished by holding Loki a bit tighter, hoping to provide some sort of comfort.

Loki just buried his face when Thor hugged him, he was feeling not himself. He seemed even more miserable then he had done when he found out he was adopted, as he had still been really upset then too. He was sensitive and knew he needed his brothers comfort, his black hair fell in his face, usually it was so tidily slicked back, but right now, it was clear the god didn't care. He was so frail and small seeming to Thor, he was sure he was even smaller then a normal frost giant.

He sometimes was afraid Thor would break his bones, he knew Thor was strong and sometimes wasn't aware of his own strength. Loki sobbed a bit more. Without his mother he wasn't sure how things would be. "Feels like my fault...," He cried more. He knew Thor would try to comfort him, being there in his brothers arms did help slightly.
"I hate myself Thor... I hate what I have done, I am a horrible son and brother and in general a horrible person. Ohh I am monster." He muttered. He saw one of the guards look in to make sure Loki was behaving, Loki picked up a pillow and threw it "Go away," he hissed at the gaurd, he lay back down. "I don't deserve to be happy Thor," The nasty tone still there after he had yelled a the guard.

Thor let Loki pull away from the embrace, knowing that Loki had allowed it to go on for more than he usually would have anyway. He also didn't saw anything when Loki threw one of his throw pillows at the guard. Afraid that the guard would have taken the tantrum as an actual threat, Thor nodded his way and waved after him, requesting that he close the doors. The guard obliged, knowing that Loki's suffering was not a spectacle to be seen by all of Asgard.

"Yes, brother." Thor agreed. "We all make mistakes." He quickly followed up. "We feel things we shouldn't or don't deserve and it's out of our control." Thor almost smiled at himself, since when had he become the calm and collected brother who spoke of philosophy. "But mother's death was not your mistake, and it will never be. Your imprisonment was my mistake...for not being able to help you. Please, brother, I wish you would see that."

The god of mischief's eyes were still full of rage. "How is my imprisonment your fault? I was the one who tried to take over Midgard, destroy Jotunheim, use tricks to take over as king of Asgard, No being in there was my own fault. All just because I was lied to," He shakes his head. Loki wasn't pleased with any of his actions. He wasn't even sure he saw it as justified anymore. Maybe once he did, but not now. It all seemed like a bad way to react now.
He sobbed more "Oh no wonder all the realms hate me."

Loki was still very hurt, he didn't see anything Thor was saying as right. He saw his mistakes as his own fault "Why do you care so much!!" He growled "I wasn't ever good to you through all this, I tried to ruin your chances at being king, get you banish, stab and try kill you, hurt your friends, why do you still care,"
He was very upset and was crying badly.

Thor didn't have much to respond to Loki. There was just so much to say that couldn't be expressed by words, and he only wished he had a silver tongue like Loki's to provide some sort of comfort to his needing brother. Instead, all Thor could mutter out brokingly was, "Brother...oh brother if you only knew."

"Knew what?" Loki snarled. He couldn't keep the bitterness from his own voice. The god though was broken. He regretted everything and wanted so badly to change.
He was crying, he was likely to get himself very worked up. He was surprised Thor hadn't lost his patience. He curled up in his covers and was crying very hard,
He missed his mother greatly and felt like Odin hated him. He was sure Odin would have not let him out if Thor wasn't around , He didn't think Odin cared about him.

"Odin doesn't care about me, without mother , your the only one who does!" he was sniffing a bit, Loki knew that he was going to be miserable. He knew that he would not ever be happy so easily again.
"I don't think I can be happy again." he cried more.

"Brother... I apologize that I am not enough..that my love will never compare to mother's, but we are still family. I will help you any way that I can." He tried reaching out to the sobbing Loki, hoping to comfort him further, and settled with putting a hand on his shoulder. He rubbed his brothers shoulder soothingly, as he had seen Frigga do for many years.

He sat there for a few minutes, just listening to Loki's gut wrenching sobs, until he looked up at the clock perched above the doorway. "It is almost time for dinner. Loki, would you please accompany me to the grand hall?" He asked, hoping for the best.

Loki closed his eyes and leaned into his brother, he appreciated his comfort, but he just felt so broken and lost, He wanted his brother there making him feel better, He seemed to calm down only slightly. He felt like he had nothing. He still had slight tears in his eyes. He knew Thor didn't like it when he was so upset and broken. He only wished that he could make him not worry as much.

"I'm not hungry, " Loki said, He knew he should eat, he just didn't want to. He had tears in his eyes, He was a little hungry. He was looking into his brother eyes. He thought the others would judge him as well.

"If you wish not to be seen," Thor inferred, knowing his brother all too well. "Perhaps we can go to a private hall..just the two of us..you must eat, brother." He insisted. "Think of all the wonderful foods you can eat outside of the prison! Prison food pales in comparison of what the chefs of Asgard have to offer. I can request your favorite meal, if you wish!" Thor got more and more excited with each offer, hoping to cheer Loki up in any way he knew. The task wasn't so easy, and he knew it would take time, but he knew he had to be patient and gentle...both of which didn't come naturally to the wrathfull demigod.

Loki sighed and closed his eyes, food wasn't that interesting to him right now. He just didn't want to get up and go back to facing everybody. He felt like he didn't belong. He knew it would make his brother happy. He looked at Thor again. "Fine.... I'll eat, I just don't care about food right now." He sighed and wasn't going to cheer up so easily.
He finally sits up in his bed though and goes to get up. He looked unhappy. He didn't want anybody knowing he was not himself "And private all yes....,"

Thor knew he was not thrilled with the idea, but he was happy that Loki had given it some thought and agreed nonetheless...even if it was only to make him happy. "Wonderful!" Thor jeered, his mood lightening up further, eager for his excitement to rub off on his brother, even a little. "Let us go, then." He said, jumping for his seat and towards the door, hoping his brother would follow.

Loki was upset still, but he knew his brother would be pleased if he followed. He didn't seem to think his brothers attempts to help were working, he gets up and he follows him.
"Uh huh," Loki muttered dully, not sharing the same cheerful mood as his brother. He knew his brother was hoping to lighten his mood. He wasn't sure it was working just yet, he followed anyway.
