Is she going to be a complete novice or will she have a surprising amount of talent in a short amount of time? I kinda pictured Mako saying that the lightning aspect is somewhat difficult and shows her how to do it, the motions and all, then says she can give it a shot if she likes. Suddenly, bam, first try.

I would say she'd be able to bend basics, having been an avid watcher of pro bending and knowing martial arts to defend herself but I don't think she'll be totally advanced all of a sudden, it seems like a copout. I'd say she could learn the lightning thing in time though Mako knowing it also bugged me since I saw it as a rare thing like blood bending or metal bending or whatever the fuck Korra did during season 2.
