And about the Hungry Games, don't worry, I thought it was really good last time I saw it. Just catching up again before I watch Catching Fire.

Personally I think Peeta is nice, nothing wrong with him except he's boring and kinda just 'there' and if it weren't for the Games, he would have never approached Katniss about his weird 'crush' on her. >_>

Yeah I mean he's a nice guy but ...it's ...boring. I had more interest than Rue, and that's sad cause she had minimal screentime and DIED in the first installment xD I'm mixed on Katniss so far but she's got plenty of time to turn into a likable character, she just isn't clicking into it for me yet.

I relate Katniss and Korra in my mind. If you read the books, you'd get a much better feel for Katniss and her internal struggle since they're told in her perspective. The thing is, Katniss never asked to become a symbol and nor did she ever have real feelings for boring ol' Peeta but she had to pretend to save her life and his. And it's a shame because that lie is carried throughout the books. Do I think she loves Peeta? Yes but it's not at all romantic. -shrugs- Rue was sweet and I wish the second book had used Haymitch in place of Peeta cause Haymitch can kick plenty of ass and Peeta should have lost his leg like he did in the books at the end of THG. >____>

I didn't believe it at the end of the movie either, but I think he did, and there's prooobably gonna be that tension later on in CF but I'll see. If I read the books I might like Katniss more, just too many periods of silence lol. Peeta lost a leg at the end of the first book? Yikes, what happened? And Haymitch hooking homegirl up with that ointment for her burn, awww.

Seeeeee Haymitch has a heart. Of course in the third book you question his motives but that is not important. And yeah he got hit in the arena or something, I'd have to consult the books again but he was given a prosthetic at the end. Katniss is pretty guarded and though there is reason for it, I do wish we got more of her before the Games and maybe before she lost her dad and had to pretty much raise her mom and sister.

Yeah her mom's kind of ...worthless. I thought that originally Katniss' dad had Prim with another woman or something which is why the mom ignored her in favor of Katniss. Do they explain why it's Prim that's ignored rather than Katniss in CF?

Prim is a minor side character sadly, she does a lot more in Mockingjay, at least in the books she becomes a medic/nurse and the mother actually tries to do stuff too instead of acting super comatose. The mom kind of ignores both daughters though, I guess losing your hubby and being in poverty isn't a big pick-me-up. But Katniss had the most promise to come back and win, Prim lacks a lot development but she's ok. I like how she's developing in my RP more of course. She's kind of useless otherwise. :/

Well she's Katniss' motivation, but it's sad that's all she becomes, yeah? Well, you're in luck, I greatly enjoy Haymitch whenever he's on screen and Katniss is pretty tolerable as a main character (unlike S1 Korra >.>) so, yeah, Haymitch x Katniss? Pretty awesome sounding to me so far xP

Haymitch x Katniss have tons of angst but he'd sober up for her. And besides unlike Kakashi, Haymitch knows what skills his girl has under her belt. And Haymitch is clever as fuck, and the only one who can relate to her in terms of the brutality of the Games. Peeta is in upper class pretty much and though his homelife isn't great, he doesn't walk away with as many emotional scars as Katniss and thus Haymitch can help her heal. They both help each other heal while kicking ass. <3 Mah babies...they've suffered enough.

Well I have my favorites and you happen to enjoy them both, hoping Gale gets some development before it's all over but I don't have high hopes. Just not seeing the Katniss x Peeta thing working.

Everyone in the fandom love Peeta x Katniss and I don't see it either. *shrugs*

Gale gets more development in the beginning of CF and a lot more Mockingjay with Katniss and Finnick. Gale can make some deadly weapons so...he's got that going for him but I don't think Katniss likes him more than a bff either so...*whistles innocently*

It might be the Harry x Ginny syndrome where the author feeds it to you so blatantly you can't help but go along with it. Naruto's final pairing was no better in that regard. So little tact is used, it's all about "Hey she thought about him this time." or "She's clearly watching him with strong empathy and wants to be close to him." and then people just accept it no matter how poorly put together it all ends up. But pairings are in the eye of the beholder and we can't change what the author gives us, just gotta live with it and do better with the characters they got. That's what we're trying to do, that's what you and double mm are doing.

I feel for Gale cause of his romantic attachment, so I hope he remains likable even if he doesn't get the girl in the end. Katniss always felt a little asexual to me, boys were never on the mind for her, it was just survival and Peeta's affection was used for it. You never know though, I might be a Katniss and Peeta fan by the end, we'll see.

Oh god no! Don't tell me it was fucking NaruHina in the end, those fangirls are so stupid. *shudders* And she was BARELY in his life like wtf. But don't tell me if I'm right because I don't wanna be right. The fact is I find Peeta bland, but I wouldn't compare him to Ginny because he has a bit more substance and important than her. Double mm? :3 Hehe yes, we're doing wonderful things.

Gale makes more of a move in the second film/book but even so it's not really much. I feel like she wasn't interested in either and if she was gonna be with someone, it's Haymitch cause he doesn't deal with petty shit and could at least kept Katniss on her toes since even then, she doesn't like settle down from my point of view. Peeta is so in love with Katniss, I feel for him because he took what she did seriously and the fake romance is carried through to the next book and becomes a plot device for the third, sadly. I just can't ever take the pair seriously or find its merit.

You know I'd rather just tell you so you can hate the author as much as I do, but I won't. You won't like the finale, you won't like how every character was treated, there is absolutely no way you will love how they all ended up. But I think it's better to know and do what so many others are doing: Ignore the ending, write fanfiction, draw art, and relish a point in time when the author really REALLY gave a shit. It's the most extreme case of a fanbase hating an ending I have ever seen, and I'd just want to be the one to hold your hand and tell you what it came down to. Ino's kid being ugly isn't even the worst of it. xD it just really says something when he has to rationalize the final pairing with a movie because lord knows the manga gave no true development to the relationships that came through.

Katniss did play him, it's sad but what can ya do? It helped them survive and that's what it was about, hopefully there's no bad blood between them. I'd hate for Peeta v.s. Gale to be what Asami v.s. Korra would be. Anyway, gonna start watching Catching Fire and maybe consider sleeping after that, even though I'm NOT AT ALL tired.
