Apologies for the delay, Friday's really ARE the best day for me at this time, middle of the week is all school stuff.

After months of depression go by >.>'' I was thinking ...let's let Meelo live. Pema's a hard enough loss, and we can say that old friend of Bolin and Mako gave Meelo a less intensive dose of that horrible, horrible concoction. I just think it's gonna destroy Tenzin if he loses his son too.

Hmm...well when we first talked, Meelo was targeted for his air bending but was Pema just to make way for Lin?

We could say she sabotaged it out of human decency, so the disease doesn't kill him and the 'extraction' of the bending essence thingy could be considered a failure. They've never used it on someone so young, so they may not think anything of it. There's scum and then there's child-killing scum :C

Pema's death is just so Tenzin and Lin can rekindle the old flame, but from a story standpoint it could also have been an accidental thing as well. It just depends on the level of tragedy we want to go with but I know if Meelo does die Tenzin is going into a place I don't think anyone can get him out of, not even Katara. And if you do pull him out of a slump there'll be a lot of anger. His wife is one thing, but his child is just ...I can't even do the rage justice.

We did want the siblings to have a disagreement anyway, maybe Meela was the behind the scenes turning point that make Xana and Xano drift apart from one another. I know we wanted the girl to have fire bending and him to have water and be the more assertive one but I keep forgetting which name is which. I though Xano was the boy and Xana was the girl right?

I assume one needle would put the disease into the bender and as their system is weakened, they sneak another injection which extracts the bending itself, as well as the life force. So in that regard, we could have Xana not go back for Meelo because she is doesn't agree but maybe she extracted Pema first and some air bending was picked up and thus she didn't think they need to use Meelo too, thus he recovers on his own without the second secret visit?

Would that make sense?

Xana was female fire bender and Xano was male water bender, yes. Great memory :D

Well unless Tenzin's semen contains air bending powers and Pema's body absorbed it, I am a little uncertain how Pema had the essence. Unless you have another explanation for it, maybe Pema's birthing of air benders gave them enough essence to work with it and Xana never told her brother?

I assumed her giving birth may have left some kind of air bending trait somehow. I don't care about Pema dying but you're playing Tenzin and you think it'll be pretty bad if we follow through with Meelo also being a casualty so I'm trying to figure out how to get air bending by not killing Meelo. *shrug*

Yeah let's do that, I don't think I can rationalize Tenzin moving on and it'll definitely hamper any development Lin might be able to have with him if he's too deep in grief over his wife AND son. You know? At least he will have something to be thankful for.
