The Star Ship Gabriel. Funded and owned by TWR (Pronounced "Tower", it's the name of the government), with multiple corporate sponsors, such as the Daedalus Corporation. Or just "Daedal Co. For short".

The Bridge of the ship resembles a planetarium. The sky in front of the ship is projected onto the ceiling. In front of each chair is a stand holding a tablet, not unlike an Ipad.

The Tactical Officers are on the bridge, overlooking each of the ship's systems.

Power is at 100%.
Food supplies are good.
Shields are at 100%
The ship's hull is undamaged.

Captain Scott is sitting near the center, looking at the ceiling. As of now, the ship was orbiting the planet Ephesus.

Suddenly, a red blip appears on the screen. "Distress Signal" appears.

The Captain speaks into a microphone. "Hello crew, this is your captain, speaking. Please sit down on and buckle up, or grab onto a handlebar. We are about to make a course adjustment. We are on our way to assist an unknown vessel with a distress signal. We will arrive in one hour."

Lewis was walking down a hallway, along his regular patrol route. Suddenly, he hears the Captain's voice. He sighs and grabs onto a handlebar.

The ship breaks from orbit, and starts to accelerate. After about 5 minutes, the ship has accelerated to 1% the speed of light. Enough to get to the ship to the target in about an hour or so.

After the ship stops accelerating, Lewis lets go of his handlebar and continues his patrol.

There really isn't much for an exploration officer to do when you aren't actively exploring anything. You can prepare yourself and your equipment, of course, but when you've done that, what then? If this line of work demands anything of you, it's that you have a hobby. A time-consuming, limitless hobby. With that you will endure all the downtime between missions and mission reports. If you don't, however, you're in for a real treat.

Colleen, as it happens, doesn't have such a hobby. She's kept herself busy with learning and studying new things on the ship for the past months, but boredom is slowly sneaking up on her. When the captain notifies the crew of the distress call, Colleen feels like dancing. "Finally!" she cheers in the solace of her small room, making a security officer passing by outside raise an eyebrow.

Colleen sits herself down for the directional alteration and spends the coming 60 minutes thinking through possible scenarios they could be facing.

Lewis hears someone shout "Finally!". He turns to the window and raises his eyebrow. He then shakes his head and keeps moving. Rolling his eyes, he says "Exploration officers!"

He heads towards the armory. The room consists of a few gun lockers. The Gabriel's security force was hardly paramilitary. It was designed to be able to defend herself from common thugs on board the ship, or, at worst, an invasion of unskilled pirates.

Lewis went up to his own locker, and opened it up.
Inside the locker is a photograph, on the door is a calendar with a picture of a puppy. Hanging on a hook is a cross necklace. However, in the back there's two pistols and a few clips for them. He grabs them, and then examines them a moment. They work.

After a few hours, the Gabriel arrives at the other ship.
The ship looks like a large glass dome made of multiple hexagonal panels. It was likely a research vessel. One can vaguely see green and brown inside. The windows however, are clearly cracked. Good
The Captain says "Computer. Are there any life signs on board?"

ALICE speaks. "There are no confirmed human lifesigns. However, there may or may not be people inside. They are not responding to hails."
The Captain nods. "Very well. I want you, an exploration officer, and a medic on that ship. Get a pilot to examine the ship's hull"

Near the ship's power core is a line of recharging stations for robots. Each charging station was like a small alcove. A few androids where standing there, awaiting an activation order. Standing in one is not a horribly unpleasant experience, it was similar to sleep. Robots inside could communicate with each other using 'text messages' constructed in their minds. "ALICE" a robot in the middle, awakens. She walks towards the teleporter bay. Her mouth doesn't move, but on the intercoms of a few different rooms, she notified crew members.

"Dr. Hwyl, please report to Teleporter bay."
"EO Colleen, please report to Teleporter bay."
"Pilot Drone 'Milo', please report to the Hangar."
