As a side note, it seems giving freedom to mages really drained them of creative ideas. So, what do you guys prefer? A general setting in which you are more or less free to choose your story, or do you prefer being guided along a path, like paladins currently are?

To be honest, I was under the impression that you were still planning something for us mages, or that something was being planned by you and Tiberious. I can get something going once I leave the fortress, but I wanted to spend some more time developing Shara's powers, and discovering the history of the fortress. I can work around either, with freedom or guided, just let me know which path we're going on.

A few questions, while I'm at it. How long ago were the paladins formed? How old is Grand Master Grinoc? The paladins on Altea overthrew the mages, but do you much care about any lands over the seas? Does the location of the fortress matter much, aside from being in a temperate forest? Let me know if there's anything of particular to leave open about the fortress.

I'll try and get a post up later tonight / tomorrow morning.

Some of those things are under "Important Characters" and "Terminology" in the original post. And your questions will be answered. Altea is in a state where nobody questions the status quo (one of the main duties of the Inquisitors). And the lands beyond will be one of the major plot points, in a more grand scale. As for the fortress - it's location does matter, as it is intended for mages to sort of revive and rebuild the place. The surrounding area was a major hub of trade and culture before being abandoned for centuries. Besides, the upcoming events will rock everyone's world. And there will come a time where your fortresses will be used for defense.

I'm gonna be honest however. If all goes well, The Witch Hunt will be more or less an origin story for a far bigger one, spanning all the way up to modern times and beyond.

As for my next post, I'll try to do a more... guided... post for mages.

I've looked through those sections, but the only real mention of how long ago the paladins were founded or the age of Grand Master Grimnoc are in Count Deliah's bit, where it mentions that his grandfather relinquished the kingdom. I was hoping for a number to give a better idea of how much time has passed.

Laue, I'm a little confused.... Sebastian ordered the candidates to find help to bring it to him, but also told them to follow him down as he chased Revin? I'm not sure how Varkasan is supposed to respond to that =/

I've got a cool idea, which hopefully I'll have enough motivation to follow through. While putting up major NPC's in character sheets wasn't really successful, why don't I put them in a short game?! Basically, I would try to do short-ish video games for the major NPC origins, more or less up until the current events. Would you guys be interested in that?
