[OOC] Blood in our veins

Jake had long since fallen asleep to the sound of repeated tapping and digging, but he jolted awake when the sound changed to one of something moving near him. Studying the area that he had heard the digging sound, he found a bit of paper poking out of the wall and tugged it gently until it came through.

"Ok got it.."

Carefully, he unfolded it and looked over the text.

"Do you understand what it says?" Liz asked nervously. She rubbed her arms. She heard footsteps coming their direction. She was hoping that they were coming for her so that he would have time to read the paper. Liz made her way back to her bed as quickly as she could. She had just closed her eyes when she heard someone enter her room. Liz had a hard time staying still as the nurse unlocked her bed and wheeled it out of the room.

he had also heard the footsteps, and unsure who's door they were foor, he threw the piece of paper under his mattress and layed down ontop of it. But the footsteps didn't come for him. With a sigh of relief, he pulled out the piece of paper. and tried to read it. It all seemed like a garbled, scribbly mess to him. But just like it had been for liz, the word DNA stuck out clearly.

He didn't like the feeling he got, so he attempted to read it again. "dna and a..an..anima?"
This was frustrating.

Hours later Liz is returned to her room. She lay sobbing on her bed. Her body hurt in ways she had never imagined before. She wanted to call out to her friend to see if he had learned anything from the paper, but she didn't have the strength.

The sound of sobbing was enough to draw Jake over to the closes spot he could approximate to her location. It was never good if there was crying involved, "hey...hey...are you alright?"

He went over to his bed and slipped the paper back under his mattress before going right back to the wall. He could handle shit, or at least he liked to believe he could...but the crying...the crying of others always broke down his tough guy-ness with concern for them.

"It hurts." Liz slowly made her way over to the wall. "They wanted me to change. They poke me, hit me, and shocked me trying to get me to change. They wouldn't tell me how they wanted me to change. I tried. I couldn't seem do what they wanted. We're you able to get anything off the paper?"

Quietly, Jake wondered what that would mean...how did they want them to change? He blinked and looked over at his bed..did they want them to change DNA? That sounded stupid, never mind.

"It's worst than Greek." he sighed, "It's like i can almost read it but it's so..scribbly...but there's this word before DNA that's like annie or anima...or some shit. My brain isn't quite in the clear either...I feel...distracted...or something like that."

"What have they done to us?" Liz cried. "I don't think I volunteered. I don't remember anything before waking here. My feels like it's on fire jack. Like something is happening."

"hey, hey, calm down. Freaking out never helped anyone out of a tight jam." Jake didn't understand what was going on, didn't understand what she meant something was happening. The only thing he did understand was that she was possibly starting to panic, and that was the last thing he needed from her. the fact that she called him jack didn't even blip on the radar of things to consider.

"I'm trying!" Liz told him tearfully." She struggled to keep calm. She took several deep breaths. She skin felt like it was covered in live ants. "My skin feels like it's crawling."

jake thought for a moment, on one hadn it sounded bad...on the otherhand...calling for a doctor might increase panic...shit..."ok, if you can't calm down, make some noise for the doctors...if they're feeding us, they might need us to be healthy."

Liz frowned at the wall. Her friend wanted her to go back? Had he missed the how torture thing? Still she needed to do something. She rubbed her arms trying to think of another way. "They will hurt me again. Thinking I am on the edge of changing. What if I am on the edge of changing?"

"Then I don't fucking know what to tell ya." he spat out, "I'm even more clueless than you are."

He glared at the wall for a second before forcing himself to take a breath. He worried for her, yeah, but he couldn't do anything.She kept spewing this talk about changing, and he didn't know if she had snapped or if something was really going on with her. Either way, he guessed that she would be changing.
