Kingpin... This guy has been here for this long and Peter hasn't heard a single thing about the guy? Peter has dug in to the criminal world for about two years now, and the beginning of his crime fighting career (some would say his vigilante days) he went to a lot of places hunting down every lowlife thug he could find, and the name never popped up... Was he around that time? Was the the one that hid his Uncle Ben's killer from him and the police? If that was the case, he would love to meet this Kingpin guy more than ever. Before they left the rooftop Daredevil said something to the two, but Peter felt like it was more towards him.

"Don't let this be personal." The man dressed as the devil said. Spider-Man didn't look at the man, he simply shot a web towards the buildings, and the two heroes were off. The young man had a lot to think about as they swung towards the Empire State building, and while Lexi took off her mask, Spider-Man kept his on. He looked down at the city, listening to Lexi's comments. "I'm not sure... But if he is truly as dangerous as Daredevil made him sound, taking out his support will be the first step. Knowing our luck, we'll come face to face with the guy sooner or later." Spider-Man said with a shrug. "He can't possibly be worse than the people we've fought before, right? Plan sounds good, but we should probably take a photo shoot for the Bugle tomorrow, they probably wouldn't like it if I came in tomorrow empty handed."

----

Peter had the photos in his hands of BlackCat and Spider-Man from last night, and showed up at Lexi's house. A short conversation with the Rogers' and Lexi's Uncle Matt, and they were off to the Daily Bugle. The place was as busy as ever, reporters, newspaper editors, photographers, the sound of keyboards clicking and conversations filled the room as soon as they stepped in. Peter pulled Lexi close to him as a cart full of newspapers came rushing down the hall, almost hitting her. "This place probably has more traffic and deaths than rush hour Downtown..." Peter said with a smile, leading his girlfriend towards J.J. Jamenson's office. As they did they looked around the area, seeing any potential break in points, escapes, exits, you know, the essential stuff.

They made it to Betty, the receptionist's, desk and she looked at Peter with a smile. "Hey Pete. Might not want to go in there, Boss is kinda in a bad mood." Betty said with an eye roll, then making eye contact with Lexi. "Ooohh, and who's this? Your girlfriend?" She asked with a smile, before any of them could respond Jamenson's door burst open, made direct eye contact with Peter, and pointed at him. "You, Paul! You're fired!" He screamed, thought about it for a second, then shook his head. "You're the Web Head photographer right? What do you have for me? Who's she?"

Peter held up the pictures of the two heroes. "I have a few from last night, and this is my girlfriend Lexi Ro--"

"Is she a photographer too?"

"Erm, no but--"

"Then why's she here? This isn't a fieldtrip, Parker!" Jamenson said, snatching the pictures and walking back into his office. "Good work! Talk to Joe about the check!" and he was gone. Peter gave Lexi an apologetic smile, and Betty sighed. "don't worry about him, he's always like that. The first month I was here he fired me and rehired me four times before lunch. He's extremely stressed today, the Mayor elections are starting up again, and he usually spends this time trying to get his son into the running. You know his son's the famous astronaut right? The really hot one." Betty started to say dreamily. Peter mentally vomited. "An Astronaut huh? neat... I'm gonna show Lexi around if that's alright, then pick up my check."

Betty nodded. "Totally fine, Pete. I'll talk to ya later." She said in her thick Brooklyn accent, giving a smile to them as the two walked off. "As you can tell, J.J. is a lovely fellow. I could never guess why anyone would try to kill the guy..." Peter muttered to Lexi.

Lexi was excited to join Peter in looking through the newspaper building, she had never been at it before; mostly because if reporters wanted to know anything they’d track her down. Especially when she was dealing with all the Spider-Man situations as a civilian, when she became a super hero however, people started to leave her alone and Spider-Man was seen less and less in public with Lexi Rogers. Honestly, she was enjoying spending time with Peter Parker as Lexi Rogers than Spider-Man spending time with Black Cat.

Her Uncle Matt was getting used to Peter Parker being around and even though she wasn’t listen in, she did make sure to sneak around the corner from time to time to make sure the conversation wasn’t something that she needed to step in about. This was the first man that her Uncle Matt had ever met and ever had time to talk to face to face. Her listening in was to make sure that the conversation stayed law related and not turned to the ‘you better treat her right’ lecture she was sure Uncle Matt would find the time to give. But he probably heard her coming every time she approached.

It didn’t take them long to get the office as she drove them. The office was complete chaos with people running back and forth, even Peter had to pull her out of the way. She couldn’t help but grin up at him, he was always looking out for her, always protecting her and always loving her as a true man should. Boy was she lucky.

The explosion of people threw her off and she attempted to respond to the receptionist before the door flew up on and the man stormed out. First ‘Paul’ was fired, then he was receiving a check then he was instructed to go talk to Joe. Her head jerked back in surprise and she shook it rather hard as she listened to Betty’s explanation and when she started to go on about the astronaut, she gave a laugh. “I think I’ve seen him once or twice but,” Her gaze moved to Peter as she gave his hand a small squeeze, “Astronauts aren’t my type; I kinda got a thing for photographers.” With that she gave him a wink before looking forward and giving the receptionist a wave good bye as they left.

“Such a lovely person…” She muttered in return giving some people a small nod as they walked. “But he is still a civilian no matter how much of a ‘lovely’ person he is. I don’t see any abnormal points of interest; should we check to make sure there’s not a basement entrance?”

"This building's old... I mean if they really wanted to they could break some of these windows and get in. Or get a sniper and set it up across the street... I don't think that'll be this dude's style if he plans on still being the secret drug lord he claims to be. Definitely check the basement, and then roof access. The fire escapes are rusty and probably won't budge like most of them in this city. Good ole fire department making the lives of super heroes even more difficult." Peter muttered, taking them to the last stop before their trip to the basement. Joe Robertson sat behind his desk, lost in thought as he stared down at the articles for tomorrow's paper. He looked up to see Peter, and gave a smile. "Well hello there Peter." Joe said standing up. "Hi, Mr. Robertson. I'm here to pick up my check. Oh, Joe this is my girlfriend Lexi Rogers. Lex, this is Joe Robertson, the editor-in-chief and one of my bosses." Peter introduced them. Unlike J.J., Joe was much friendlier. "A pleasure to meet you, Lexi." He gave a smile and pulled out a company check book, scribbling it down. "I assume you two have already met Mr. Jameson. He's a bit moody this time of year. This place is usually this busy though." He looked up and smiled again, then down at the check.

He finished writing it and handed the check to Peter. "There you go Mister Parker. Have a nice day you two." He said, taking his seat once more. "He's the yin to J.J.'s yang... or whichever one's the good one." Peter said with a shrug, exiting the busy room, and into the elevator. "This Kingpin guy better be like an old school mafia guy. Fedora and everything. And has that thick Italian accent and he's gotta say "badda bing!" to me." Peter let his mind go free during this. When he's nervous he lets his humor out, no matter how bad it was. The elevevator door opened to a small hallway and at the end of it a steel door with a lock on it.

The two walked over to the door, peter examining it before tearing the lock off. a charming personality, good looks, and super strength were just part of the Spider-Man package. The two entered the dark lit room that held old newspaper equipment, old newspapers, and typical basement stuff. The ceiling was high above them, and near the roof and the walls were some windows leading to the outside world. "Check to see if there's any back doors or vents or anything like that. I got the windows." Peter said, walking over to jump on top onto it, his hands sticking to the wall. He started to climb up towards the window to see if they looked like anything out of the ordinary.

Getting introduced to Joe was a nice change of pace compared to J.J. and Lexi found herself smiling as she shook Joe’s hand. “It’s a pleasure as well.” She said politely as she tucked her hands into the pockets of her jackets. Joe seemed a lot more comfortable to be around; not to mention kinder compared to J.J. Then again not everyone can be kind. Soon the two began their adventure to overlook the place. His comments about wanting King Pin to be an old fashion mafia style man made her giggle and she gave his arm a small pull to indicate that she understood he was doing it to reveal the tension and to tell him it worked.

It was funny to watch Peter, her Peter; Peter Parker, do such in just the blink of an eye. Would old Peter be able to look death in the faced and make a joke about it? Probably not but to see him so confident was very appealing. They slid inside the room and two began to search, she gave him a nod with a smile before going to look. Stripping off her coat she began to weave her way through boxes and storage units, using her light weight and small frame to squeeze into incredibly small spaces. Huh… this place was full of old paper creation things, presses and imprints were everywhere. Spider webs everywhere as she worked her way through.

Coming back out of the crawling area, Lexi dusted herself off and called to Peter, “Peter, there’s an air duct but I think only I can fit through it. Do you want me to block it off or leave it as an easy way in? It’s blocked behind a lot of heavy things so they’d have to be light weight and very strong or as light weight and easily move-able like me. What do you think?”

With Peter's expertise of breaking in to buildings and fighting criminals small and large, he was absolutely certain that this window was not a convenient one. The window was a narrow one to show the street at eye level. They would need a very skinny man, would have to have very powerful tools to get rid of the window and gate around it, and then would have to make sure they didn't break an ankle with the ten foot drop... With one hand still on the wall, he pulled one off and searched inside his pocket to find his small web shooter, used his teeth to put it on his wrist, and laced the window with webbing at crucial parts. If they were to break the window, the web would keep it in place, and the stuff would be like concrete. Courtesy of your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!

Peter climbed his way down the wall, and turned his attention to the voice of Lexi. "I would love to install some spy lasers or something in the duct, but I think placing a shelving rack in front of it with a heavy box or piece of metal in front of the duct would be good. We can easily push it out of the way." Peter replied, walking through the shelves, trying to find Lexi. He looked at all the shelves and old timey equipment. In normal circumstances he would be a bit fascinated at this kind of stuff. He was a sucker for photography and journalism after all. But when the "Devil of Hell's Kitchen" came to you and claimed that a mysterious crime lord is gonna take out your boss, you tend to stay focused... Until he saw a name that made him do a double take.

--MARY PARKER... A piece of old worn out newspaper poked out from under an old piece of printing equipment. That was his mother's name. Peter lifted the heavy piece of metal with ease, and gently pulled the newspaper out. OSCORP'S LEADING SCIENTISTS RICHARD AND MARY PARKER DIED IN PLANE CRASH. Peter didn't have many pictures of his parents, and he never saw this one. A tall man with dark and messy hair gave a grin to a slightly smaller woman showing him a piece of research on a paper. The woman had the same mischievous grin as Peter did... His parents in their natural habitat, hard at work... Peter gently touched the picture, then delicately folded the fragile paper, and stuffing it in his jacket pocket. He didn't want to bring this up to Lexi yet. He knew he said there were no more secrets between them, but there were much more important matters than an old picture of his parents.

He eventually found his girlfriend. "I think its all clear here. Good work, partner! You think we have to check the other floors? If they try an aerial assault on the building we'd be able to see it on the nearby rooftops--" He stopped abruptly, his Spider-Senses going off in the back of his head. He grabbed lexi and pulled her behind a couple machines as soon as he heard the metal door opening and a wheeled object being pulled in. He didn't know who this was, but he felt kinda embarrassed that his first thought was a bunch of assassins coming to kill Jameson in broad daylight by taking old newspaper equipment and beating him with it.

The wheel sounds got closer and closer, and he had to put his big brain into work! Two teenagers in a basement was very suspicious! Think, Parker! Peter pulled her up, wrapped his arms around Lexi, and planted a kiss on her, turning away from the sound, pretending he didn't hear it. A few seconds later he turned to see who their visitor was... and it was shockingly a....! Janitor. An older 70 year old man looking very surprised that two teenagers were here making out.

Peter gave an awkward laugh and smile, letting go of Lexi and using voiceless hand gestures to him. "I... uh, got a break and my girlfriend came to visit and we needed a quiet place to... you know... heh..." Peter said, clapping his hands together, the man didn't talk, he assumed he was too speechless. "And you clearly don't care, we'll leave, just don't tell the bosses we were down here... you know... Thanks, bud." Peter said quickly, patting the man on the chest and pulling Lexi out of the room, back to the elevator. "Sorry about that... I thought the janitor was a crazy assassin then I figured he wasn't one but an employee and they would understand some teenage lust or whatever..." Peter leaned back against the elevator wall, looking at Lexi with an apologetic smile. "yeah this is why you're usually the plan maker."

Peter’s sudden change of expression caused Lexi to go on guard as well. Her big blue eyes scanned the area around them and before she could say or do anything, Peter had her by the arm and was pulling her behind some copy machines. The two froze as the noisy door opened and something was being wheeled in, it only took a moment for Peter to react and Lexi turned to him just in time for their lips to press together. However, it was just the threatening 70 something year old janitor who had a stunned look on their face, Lexi’s expression matched the old man’s.

As Peter rambled a smile moved across Lexi’s face. A smile that could only be explained as a dumbstruck happy smile; was she acting? Maybe… Was she seriously surprised and swept off her feet? You bet. It’s not very often that Peter’s that open in public. She followed along Peter’s pulling on her arm with that same dumbstruck smile on her face as she just stared at the back of Peter’s head.

When the elevator doors closed and he spoke, a giggle that matched her smile left her full lips and her gaze finally moved to meet his. “In the face of a deadly assassin or an evil 70 something year old janitor, your first thought it “kiss the girl!” I’m impressed. I mean, I should probably take a lesson from your book because those janitors man… whoa they can cause some problems…” She said with a playful wink before closing the gap between them in the elevator and running her hands up his chest. “Lust filled teenagers making out in the basement of your work. Man we really have come far haven’t we?” Her fingers went into his hair and she was about to go in for another kiss when the door opened with a ‘ding’ and the raven haired girl let out a sigh of disappointment. “The elevator’s as bad as Aunt May.” She muttered as her hands fell from him and she stepped back. They had to prepare for tonight and she knew that.

Night rolled around and Black Cat was the first to arrive near the building. So tonight they were dealing with a possible hit on Peter’s boss alongside Daredevil. A small sigh left Black Cat as she stayed crotched on the edge of the building taping her diamond nails against the stone. Tonight… tonight was going to be an interesting night; good thing she took a cat-nap before this.

"Hey, what can I say? I may be a crime fighting super hero, but first and foremost I'm a teenage guy filled with hormones." Peter replied to her remark, his face turning a bit red. "And also I don't need your sass. I'm the sassy one in this relationship." Peter added, before putting his hands on her waist as she pressed up against him. "If I had known that I could get away with things like that, I would have started dating you much sooner." There was sarcasm in Peter's voice, he went in to kiss Lexi until the bell stopped them, which wasn't much of a surprise. Everything was out to end their little moments together.

---

Was Peter nervous? When he was Spider-Man, not much did. Tonight was an exception though. He was trying to prevent an assassination of his boss, while working with another vigilante. The New York super hero club was now up to three (not counting the Avengers). Daredevil was the second to arrive on the rooftop. "Looks like you believed my story. Its a weird feeling." The masked man said with laughter in his voice. He walked up next to Lexi, kneeling down himself and letting his ears channel through the streets of Manhattan. "Where is the other one?" Daredevil asked, his head moving to look at Lexi. It was hard for the man not to be concerned about his goddaughter, and even harder not blow his cover.

"Here! I am here!" Spider-Man yelled as he landed on the roof, walking over to the two of them. "Sorry, I had to talk to uh... HQ before I made it over here." Spider-Man said, rubbing the back of his masked head as he took a seat next to Lexi. Of course "HQ" was explaining to Aunt May where he was off to a this time of the night. "So, what's the plan?" Spidey asked, excitement in his voice.

"We wait."

"Oh..."

"You sound disappointed."

"What? No! I've always wanted to sit on a rooftop for hours hanging out with people in a cat and devil outfit."

And so, the night went like that. The light in J.J.'s office was on, the night didn't change whatsoever, and there was a lot of awkward silences. Peter would almost ask Lexi how she thought she did on a test they took, or asking if she wanted to study at his place or hers tomorrow, or just regular things, but Big Bad Devil was over their shoulders. Peter would walk along the side of the building, and doing trick web shots.

"So, you think I could try those nunchucks out someti--"

"No."

"Aw come on! those aren't the kind you get at karate class!"

"Which is exactly why I won't let you use them."

"Look, I'll trade ya! One nun chuck, and I'll give you a web shooter! Tradesees! People talk about them all the time! They can turn into a staff, and can bounce off walls, that's Captain America grade stuff!"

"Be quiet."

"You don't have to get snappy with me--"

"No, the building. Something's wrong."

Spider-Man walked over to the edge again, looking at the office. "What? It's just the same thing we've been looking at." Spider-Man said, looking at him. Daredevil then looked at Black Cat. "Do you hear it too?" The Devil of Hell's Kitchen asked to her. "In the building. There's footsteps. Very very faint. They aren't Jameson, they'd be louder."

Peter finally understood what was happening. The assassins managed to get into the building, and were about to complete their mission.

Black Cat wasn’t quite sure how to feel about the Hell’s Kitchen Devil as he came next to her. He seemed to know a lot and before Spider-Man arrived and swept her away (both in the literal and metaphorical sense), he was the mystery super-hero flooding the media. Who would have thought she would be sitting on the rooftop as a super-hero herself and helping thee DareDevil along size the amazing Spider-Man. Talk about getting your ego stroked by being wanted to help them! She couldn’t help but feel a least a little important. Though she knew all too well that Spider-Man would be watching her like a hawk to make sure she’s okay. And that, that she could appreciate whole-heartedly.

Both men soon arrived and the waiting began. Sitting on the edge of the roof across from the paper was boring to say the least. The building wasn’t high so seeing the stars in the sky were impossible and the awkward silence was intense. Normally Spider-Man and Black Cat would chit chat about things that happened in their day, catch up on thoughts or even do their homework. However they couldn’t do that with the Hell’s Kitchen Devil right next to them. Did he even know that the two were a couple? Even Black Cat didn’t know the answer to that.

The men’s banter back and forth was actually rather entertaining and the smile across the young lady’s face showing her bright white teeth. Though it didn’t last long, the Devil called for silence explaining that something was happening in the building. Black Cat paid more attention when the Devil asked her if she could hear it too. After first she couldn’t, until she closed her eyes and focused hard. Then, an incredibly faint footsteps going through the building, “Whoa, yeah; it’s faint… someone who’s very light or trained not to be noticed…” Almost instantly she was to her feet. They stopped, it sounds like there’s something’s getting worked on, a door perhaps?”

“They’re not to the offices yet.” DareDevil said quietly as he stood up. “It’s our time to go in.”

“Let’s go.” Black Cat said and began to take a step forward. A hand grabbed her arm, her head turned to look at Spider-Man however, she realized that he wasn’t the person who grabbed her. Her head slowly turned before looking at DareDevil and held back a look of surprise, “Yes?”

There were so many thoughts running through DareDevil’s mind. This was his god-daughter. So many bad things could happen in just a small amount of time and he wouldn’t forgive himself is something happened to her. “Just be careful.” He said as he let go of her arm and listened to her fall gracefully off the building and head towards her entrance to go inside.

He then turned his attention to Spider-Man, the silence between the two men lasted a little longer before DareDevil finally spoke, “She seems like someone who can be reckless, keep an eye on her.” With that he followed Black Cat’s lead and jumped from the building.

Black Cat, because she was the lightest, had the air ducts entrance into the building. Her small body wiggled through the ducts and she crawled with unexpected ease through them. Learning from the DareDevil, she used her sense of hearing to guide her to the location where the criminal was. Holy crap they were quiet. This isn’t some punk; this is the real deal… Taking a deep breath, she moved through the air ducts towards the direction of the criminal listening for the nearly silent footsteps of her comrades who were approaching the individual as well.

As soon as DareDevil stopped Lexi from walking Spider-Man was about to look at the man and push him away... But he didn't. The main reason was because his spider senses didn't go off when he did so. The two stared at each other for a while, but the fact that Peter couldn't see the man's eyes made him feel a bit uncomfortable. But he also wears a full mask, so who was he to judge? Spider-Man's head tilted a bit at his response. "Uh... Okay.." He replied, before Lexi made her way into the building through the ducts. "So, how do you want to approach this?" DareDevil asked, his hearing keeping a steady focus on the faint footsteps, but also his god daughter.

"I have an idea... but I'll need to give you a piggy back real quick."

---

The silent footsteps of the super trained mercenaries walked through the main room of the Daily Bugle. Getting in was a simple task, and finishing their mission seemed to be even simpler. The five men walked very quietly, scanning the room and checking the other offices before walking towards the door of the J.J. Jameson. The office light was still on as the leader of the squad put his hand on the door knob, and very silently pushed it open to reveal...

The room was empty. The leader stepped in, looking at the corners. No one was in the room, the desk was filled with papers, the chair looked away from the door, and only the lamp gave light into the room. Just then the chair turned around to reveal Spider-Man sitting casually in it. "Hey, guys. I like the team outfits, looks menacing." Spider-Man dodged a bullet shooting out of the silenced gun, as two more of the men tried to rush into the door, just then the door was kicked in their face. Daredevil was hiding behind it, and he immediately smacked the leader in the face with his baton. In the seat in the corner behind Daredevil was Peter's boss, tied up in web, his mouth shut, but that didn't stop him from screaming and his face turning red.

Peter saw the door opened and two of the men aimed at the Devil of Hell's Kitchen. Peter shot two strings of web at their guns, and pulling them diagonally, the silenced guns shooting into the ground.

He knew Lexi would appear any minute to give a surprise from above, he was looking forward to this little fight that was going to go down.

Why, why would they go after J.J. Jameson? Something about that did not seem right as Blackcat squeezed her way through the vents and down towards the office. Is it to make an impact within the town? Is it to cause panic that a local news man was killed? Would they dare to make it look like Spider-Man did it and try to turn the city on their beloved super hero? Some crime bosses would have preferred it that way but… was that the overall plan here? Many questions buzzed through the cat-suit wearing individual as she hurried to get to the meeting point.

It wasn’t a surprise that the gunshots were fired but she knew Spider-Man all too well, knowing he was dodging bullets, making sarcastic comments and had J.J. somewhere safe, or safe-ish. She kicked open the vent with her boot and dropped directly down on the two gunmen who were just disarmed. Pulling her fist back she knocked both of them in the back of the head before jumping on one and tying his arms and legs together with her wire and snipping it off at the end.

While she was in the process of tying, the other man regained his composure and reached for the working cat, only to be cut off by Daredevil who had no issue putting the batton to the back of the man’s head before he had a chance to raise his fist to the young girl. “Be on your guard.” He said in a stern voice down to the girl who looked up at him, a bit surprised at his tone.

“Sorry…” She muttered under her breathe as she jumped onto the guy he had just hit and tied him up.

Jumping to her feet she looked over at J.J. Jameson with a smirk before looking back at Spider-Man, “A hotdog meal says this does not make it into the paper.”

"I don't like the odds on that..." Spider-Man responded, looking at Cat Woman, then at Daredevil. "We make a good team! We need to work on a team name later on, maybe some matching colors for our suits, and--"

He was cut off by the loud scream coming from Jameson. "Oh, right. Life in peril, and all that." Spidey said, walking over to the man, and taking the web off his mouth.

"YOU'RE ALL DEAD!! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU ALL TRIED TO KILL ME!"

"We just saved your life Mister Jameson." Daredevil's voice came in calmly, and with ease. "There was a man who tried to assassinate you. Calls himself Kingpin. Have you heard of that name?"

"Kingpin? Is that another one of you clowns running around, and destroying this city?" J.J. screamed, struggling to get out of the webbing.

"Destroying the city, yes. clowns running around? really? You've written better insults at us in your paper--"

"He's an actual threat, with all due respect. We are wasting time. We need to get you to a safe location before anything else happens--"

Spider-man's senses kicked in, sending a very big alarm throughout his body. "Watch out!" He yelled. shooting a web at J.J. Jameson's chest, and pulled, the chair falling down as bullets erupted from the the windows. "They have a freaking helicopter!" Spider-Man yelled.

Daredevil was also on the ground, cussing silently. "Hey, I can get out of here the quickest, I can take J.J. somewhere safe, the helicopter won't be able to catch me!" Spider-man yelled over the guns.

"More are coming through the stairs. I don't like it, but its the only chance we got. Take him out of here, Catwoman and I will catch up!"Daredevil said. Peter hesitated, but Daredevil screamed "Go!" and he was off.

Peter grabbed Jameson after taking the webbing off, he screamed and kicked and fought as he was complaining about Spider-Man and his office being destroyed. "Alright, big guy. Time out." Spider-man said, shooting a web back at his mouth. He picked him up, put his over his shoulder, and leapt through the window. He dodged the bullets like it was nothing, time seemed to slow down. He made it to the rooftops. he landed on his feet, and started to run. He could hear the chopper right on his tail, but a few maneuvers through the skyscrapers and--

Something hit his leg, and Peter tumbled and fell, dropping Jameson. Peter was dazed, his vision blurry, but when he came to, the chopper was overhead, military men everywhere... Peter tried to stand up, but his leg felt numb. He managed to stand, and he saw something that truly shocked him.

A very, very large man dressed in an expensive white suit. His head was large and bald, his hands looked then times the size of anyone else's, and he gave a small smile at Peter.

"My, My... It takes a while for anyone to recover from this tranquilizer. You really are amazing. I've heard all about you, and you've put a dent on my business. Allow me to introduce myself. I go by Kingpin." the large man said in a suave voice. He could feel the soldiers tense up as two figures had appeared. Daredevil and Lex. They looked alright, but also terrified of the situation.

"Holy cow...You're Kingpin?" Peter managed to say, his leg still feeling weird. "How... On earth are you that big?! It looks like you ate like, twenty men, their village, their food, and then some!" Spider-man yelled. The man clenched his fists. "What?" He asked. "You're huge! Like, Connecticut could just put you over the state so you could block the rain! Hulk couldn't even pick you up--" Spider-man had his fun. A solider hit Peter on the side of his head, making him go down instantly. The tranquilizer made him loopy, and say things he wouldn't really say in such a serious situation.

Soldiers had Jameson, and throwing him into the helicopter. Kingpin smiled and shrugged. "You almost won. Some of my best men weren't enough to stop you three, but that wasn't their goal. It'd be pretty incriminating for three superheroes to come in to an anti-hero newspaper, and kidnap the owner, who also happened to be running for mayor of New York. The city would go into an outrage. People would be against Spider-man, and the Devil of Hell's Kitchen, and the infamous Black Cat. You wouldn't be able to do much. They wouldn't want crazy criminals with powers to be out on the loose."

Spider-Man could only watch. He looked over at Daredevil and Black Cat who were being pointed at by guns. They failed that bad. What was going on through their heads? How did they mess up so badly?

How… how did the fail? Everything seemed to go just fine until the moment Daredevil and Black Cat were pounced. “Agh!” Black Cat’s distressed grunt filled the area as she was hit in the head with a heavy object. For the first time in a long time, Black Cat felt panic run through her as wrists were tied. No matter how much she and Daredevil fought, neither one of them were able to break free from the mounds of people that were on the two.

Soon they were led outside; Spider-Man seemed to be coming to as the two other heroes were dragged onto the season. The man talking introduced himself as Kingpin but the shift blow dealt to Spider-Man made her jump. “STOP!” She called out.

“Be quiet.” Daredevil muttered to her.

“STOP! If you want a hostage… take me.”

“Quiet!” The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen growled towards the younger woman only to find her stepping forward.

“If you want to make an example of those are not supposed to shove their noses into the business of others, take me instead.” It took a bit of convincing and any time one of the other heroes would attempt to out-speak her, she would speak louder to keep the attention on herself.

The arrangement was made, despite the desperate cries of the two other heroes Black Cat was led away for the freedom of her comrades.

It had been three weeks since Black Cat surrendered herself and her parents put out a panic search for their missing girl. And it was a bright sunny Saturday morning when the word began to spread on the street.

“Black Cat is dead”

“Did you hear?! They underground is sending a message, a big message that superheroes will not be tolerated.”

“I can’t believe her out of everyone. Does anyone know who her real identity is?”

“They haven’t revealed any information but they’re removing her body from Times Square, if we hurry they might unmask her.”

Within time square, the body of Black Cat, suit and all were strung up along the main teleprompter of Times Square. The police and Fire department were lowering the body as a massive amount of people stared on in shock. “I guess the underground is series about the whole superhero thing.”, “I really thought we had a chance with the heroes around. I wonder if they’ll stop fighting crime seeing one of their own dead. “, “Do you think they’ll unmask her?”, “Maybe but I doubt they’d go public like this with it, she is the daughter of someone after all.”

Crowds of people swarmed into the square to get a look at the lowering body that was handed crucifies style from the television. All shapes and sizes watched this happen. Speaking of shapes and sizes; anyone who knew the body of Black Cat well would know that… that body was not hers.

Below among the crowd of people stood a bob-cut blonde haired woman in an oversized white trench coat, fashionable black high heels on her feet and a form fitting black dress under the coat. Upon her face sat a pair of large black circle sunglasses; a hand moved up, pulling down the shades to smirk up at the body. “Hm.” With that she turned, pushing the shades back up to protect her sharp green eyes.

The nameless figure moved through the crowd and began descending down the street. Normally people wouldn’t look the direction of the young sharply dressed woman and as she knocked shoulders with a tall young man she scoffed at him, at Peter Parker, a scoff on a possibly familiar set of lips before the blonde continued on her walk obviously irritated by the shoulder bump.
