Eoris essence
Now for those that are unfamiliar with it, it is basically an Exalted knock-off, only extremely well written, but for the moment are only available in dead tree version. There are a few pdf's flying about the internet, but they're few and far between. Now I've had to type all of this out before from the core rulebook and it took me ages, luckily I found the old version. Anyhow, some more bit n'pieces incoming shortly.

For this you will be a Xylen - a character from Solar Existence (you can choose a character from most franchises - that I am familiar with, and whose paradigms do not break those of this particular universe So undead or anything like that cannot exist here, but technobabble type races can). I only ask that you choose something suitable.

There are various ways in my mind to deal with this.
The first being we play free form and keep to the 'spirit' of game, in that we decide a rough power levels we want as per the book, we would also need to allow for a maximum aura level too.
The second being we start with very basic elements of the system, and as we get more comfortable add extra components, ex. knock back; that kind of thing. Personally, I'm open to whatever the players prefer, I just want to play this awesome game.

I have no objection to that. Heck, there is certainly precedent, considering Solar Existence could even have races from Mass Effect (a perfect example of Saeia at work); or even Vulcans etc. Totally open to the players again here.

You know the thought had never actually occurred to me, but that would be awesome indeed good sir. If others are willing, I see no reason this couldn't be incorporated.

Interesting.

My only concerns is just really the mechanics are rough which is expected of someone's first project along with the very sparse setting details and no spending 20 pages on the damn cosmology involving the ring and black ball doesn't count as relevant in the scheme of running the game.

I'd like to personally try and use the game mechanics with a couple of tweaks.

Namely discarding the silly appearance grid and like simplifying the emotions grid to set of rolls at different difficulties to induce the buff/debuff dice they bring or possibly ignoring that.

The impulse thing is fine if a bit overloaded.

For vehicles I'd like something more simplified than the manner involving money as the costs get stupidly big in numbers/expense which gets in the way of having your personal artifact vehicle aka Sharii Velestia or vehicle.

Char gen for PC's could also be simplified by saying you get x amount of dots in skills and traits to distribute but the XP thing isn't as bad as the vehicle making part.

Also I could totally help with the rules too

Yeah, it can be too much at times, especially for those without the books.

Okay. Having talked to Daniel, he actually cut out over 200 pages IIRC of extra rules or something and is supposedly working on additional supplements.

Agreed. It HAS TO be fun, and if we're fiddling with books and arguing the toss, it ceases to be that, for me anyway. It isn't so bad if we all knew each other personally, and were around a table, meaning we can discuss things or interpretations of rules. As i said start with extremely basic mechanics to begin with, and if need be dd more complexity, but I hope we don't feel the need for that.

I honestly never read the vehicle thing in that much depth. But yeah I can see the need to simplify it.

Oh cool you talked to the creator? What's the best method of poking him? I'd like to poke him over things lost in translation especially since I know Spanish and the English writing is clunky and has some weird translation stuff.

Also vehicle stuff RAW is not very good as you'll spend millions if not billions of links to make a combat oriented vehicle that's as competent as a PC. On the plus side the actual building isn't so bad and lets you do a good amount of things with it especially when you play with the race creator since Sharii Valestias are said to be living entities.

Also one thing I'd axe from the rules is the action points thing as not even the creator uses it and it make speedy characters op.

My Spanish now is nonexistent, unfortunately. My parents used to live in Spain (although I know SA Spanish is a little different), and it was okay at one point, but due to not using it in nearly fifteen years I can hardly remember the basics. But yeah, try the above links and I'm sure you'll get hold of him.

If it was free form, it would stay in advanced. As we're thinking of mechanics it should probably go into tabletop to keep the distinction I guess?
