There should be way to remove old data. For example that has not had a response in say...a month could be taken off the website and stored in a Zip drive or something. If someone needed to access an something from the old files they could contact the data keeper for the information. Then the site wouldn't be bogged down by information that no one is using.

For a website like this, storage isn't what costs the most resources. Retrieval is. Information that sits in the database on this site takes up mere kilobytes worth for every thread, if that. It's all just text of some sort, either word text or code text, but text nonetheless. Text storage is cheap.
